00:00The White House is firing back with a little lyrical flair after Sabrina Carpenter slammed
00:05the Trump administration for using her music in a controversial ICE promotional video.
00:10It all started when the 26-year-old pop star spotted a montage of ICE arrests set to her
00:15hit track, Juno, and let's just say she was not having it.
00:20Carpenter took to X, calling the video evil and disgusting, adding,
00:24Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.
00:28But the White House?
00:29They clapped right back, using Carpenter's own words.
00:33Spokesperson Abigail Jackson issued a statement to the Post, opening with,
00:37Here's a short and sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter, a direct nod to the singer's chart-topping album.
00:42And then came the extra sting.
00:44Jackson continued, Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?
00:50Borrowing a pointed line from Carpenter's man-child lyrics.
00:53The ICE video at the center of the drama featured slow-motion clips of officers handcuffing and
00:58detaining individuals, all set to Carpenter's bright, bubbly Juno.
01:02Even the caption took a jab, reading,
01:05Have you ever tried this one?
01:06Bye-bye, echoing her lyrics.
01:08Fans quickly rallied behind Carpenter, urging her to lawyer up.
01:12One supporter wrote, Proud to support an artist who uses her platform to support vulnerable,
01:18marginalized, and demonized groups.
01:20Another chimed in,
01:22You gained hella brownie points for this, not gonna lie.
01:24Carpenter isn't the first pop powerhouse to call out the administration.
01:29Just last month, Olivia Rodrigo slammed the Department of Homeland Security for using her
01:33music in a video encouraging undocumented immigrants to self-deport, warning,
01:38Don't ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.
01:43So between artists speaking out, lyrics being weaponized, and ICE videos sparking outrage,
01:49the music politics collision is louder than ever.
01:52For now, one thing's clear, Sabrina Carpenter definitely didn't sign off on this remix.
01:56The series is complete.
01:59Function to remain the same, and it's such a barrier for the negro節.
02:02So far, it's probably not as much as a barrier for the nation, and it's a barrier for the
02:05black and white.
02:07Although this is for last month, I'll receive the Ensignway from the State of the Terre
02:09and Square.
02:10For now, let's get to the right, I'll be sure to reach out and hear about it, and there're
02:12lots of different questions.
02:13So let's get to the library.
