00:00When you were first offered the role as a pro on Dancing with the Stars, you turned it down.
00:04I did.
00:05What was going through your mind when you turned down Dancing with the Stars?
00:09I think because I had spent my whole, you know,
00:12childhood and teens competing in ballroom and Latin dancing,
00:15I was a little burnt out because, again, it was, like, competitive.
00:18And I think I lost a little bit of the, like, reason I love to do it.
00:23And when I moved to LA, I really wanted to act and sing.
00:26And I wanted to be taking seriously and give the same amount of time and effort
00:31that I put into my dancing into working on my craft to being an actor and a singer.
00:35And so I was like, I don't want to be on a reality show,
00:38because I feel like there's a connotation to that that, like,
00:42I mean, it's so different now.
00:43But at the time, I was like, oh, reality show.
00:46But it was a competition show.
00:48So I was like, there is skill, there is talent here.
00:50So I was like, you know what, I'm going to do, I'm going to sign this contract.
00:54But I'm going to get out of my contract early.
