00:00From certain scenes that were simply too intense to handle for a canned crowd, to perhaps the
00:05most bizarre beatdown in the entire history of movie making, yes I said it, the world
00:10may never recover from some of the latest attempts to leave film goers needing a bit
00:14of a lie down.
00:15And oh yeah, spoilers ahead, I'm Gareth from WhatCulture.com and here are 10 recent movie
00:20scenes that shocked the world.
00:21Number 10, Black Bolt and Professor Xavier's Gross Endings.
00:25Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.
00:28Sam Raimi's recent attempt to lure Marvel Studios into more unsettling waters didn't
00:33entirely deliver the horror goods promised of a director fame for the likes of the Evil
00:37Dead series.
00:38However, two shocking beats that will most definitely occupy more than a few youngsters' nightmares
00:42in the coming months undoubtedly rank as some of the grisliest occurrences in MCU history
00:47to date.
00:48As the newly introduced Illuminati square off against Elizabeth Olsen's chilling Scarlet
00:53Witch partway through the flick, the seemingly unstoppable Black Bolt brought to life by a
00:57returning Anson Mount soon finds himself with an unexpectedly sealed gob.
01:02Sure enough, upon trying to let rip his trademark hypersonic voice, the Inhuman's head insanely
01:07erupts as he crumbles to the floor in a heap.
01:10Not to be outdone, Patrick Stewart's returning Charles Xavier also meets his brutal end, only
01:15this time by having his damn skull literally ripped in half during his desperate attempts to
01:20reach out to Wanda Maximoff in her own mind.
01:23Simply put, Multiverse of Madness wasn't a horror home run by any means, but these two
01:27gory fatalities will definitely live long in the memory.
01:31Number 9.
01:32Johnny Knoxville's Bull Ride – Jackass Forever
01:34A few things are always to be expected when sitting down to study the latest installment
01:38of jackassery.
01:40Crap literally hitting the fan or ceiling is almost a certainty, and Johnny Knoxville would
01:44do his damnedest to thoroughly piss off a fully grown bull.
01:48Yet even with those expectations coming into Jackass Forever, few were honestly prepared for
01:52the sheer severity of that last jackass mainstay's most recent iteration.
01:57Coming during a bit Knoxville branded as the magic trick, the fearless stunt machine
02:01ate one of the gnarliest hits ever beamed into a cinema theatre on the back of flailing
02:05around like a madman in a bullpen, all whilst decked out in a magician getup no less.
02:10Things took an even more unnerving turn when it quickly became apparent that Johnny had
02:14been emphatically knocked out by said bull.
02:17In the end, this stunt would leave the jackass star suffering severe brain damage, and needing
02:21months to fully recover.
02:23So don't expect to see this jackass get back on the bull any time soon.
02:27Probably.
02:28Number 8.
02:29Conrad's Fatal Blunder – The King's Man
02:30Leaving an audience rubbing their eyes in disbelief at the death of a feature player
02:34isn't exactly anything new for Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman series.
02:38Yet where Harry Galahad Hart was lucky enough to eventually live to fight another day in the
02:42Golden Circle, it doesn't look like Conrad Oxford will be afforded that same luxury.
02:47The youngster is chilling conclusion in prequel The King's Man.
02:50Upon triumphantly surviving the perilous No Man's Land during his mission to retrieve
02:54vital information from a wounded British agent, things take an unexpected and deeply disturbing
02:59turn for Conrad, with his fellow troops mistaking him for a German spy on the back of a soldier
03:04figuring out that Conrad wasn't actually the Archie Reed he claimed to be.
03:08With Oxford secretly swapping places with the Scots to evade his father's attempts to keep
03:12him from the war, the plucky youngster is swiftly shot straight through the skull in a panic.
03:17Thoroughly matching the unexpected horror of the aforementioned Harry bullet through
03:21the head before it, or after it in the overall timeline, Vaughn managed to recapture twisty
03:26lightning in a bottle with this savage end.
03:28Number 7.
03:29Aunt May Bites The Dust – Spider-Man No Way Home
03:32While it would be easy to point to the worst kept secret in Marvel's cinematic universe
03:36history as the most stunning occurrence contained within the biggest movie of recent times, another
03:41moment arguably left folks reeling more than the Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire web-filled
03:46comebacks.
03:47With everyone from MJ to Happy Hogan being teased as heartbreaking casualties of the incoming
03:52multiversal war heading Peter Parker's way in the marketing material, few are ready for
03:56the sight of Marisa Tomei's Aunt May biting the dust amidst the rubble during the film's
04:01emotional climax.
04:02And with May seemingly brushing off the vicious attack from a devious returning Willem Dafoe's
04:07Green Goblin, the reveal of her injuries being worse than originally assumed felt like a sucker
04:12punch of sorts when all was said and done.
04:14Mix in a devastating performance by Tom Holland's Parker as he comes to terms with May's final
04:18moments post-great power, great responsibility utterance, and you've easily got one of the most
04:23devastating beats in recent movie history.
04:256.
04:26Olga's Unexpected Defense Mechanism – The Northman
04:29Robert Eggers seemingly made it his mission to shock and beat his audience into a slack-jawed
04:34mess over the course of the Northman's 137 minutes of madness.
04:39Yet even though Alexander Skarsgard's Prince Amleth understandably grabbed most of the headlines,
04:44with his routine feats of savagery throughout the flick, it was Anya Taylor-Joy's Olga of
04:48the Birch Forest who provided audiences with easily the most startling beat the flick had to offer.
04:53With the director frequently alluding to the sickening threat of rape being ever-present
04:57in these barbaric Viking times, Eggers deployed an unexpected tactic in one particular scene,
05:03to avoid the actual visual of Olga being taken against her will.
05:06Lifting up her dress to reveal she is very much on, Olga would then proceed to smear the
05:10despicable dude attempting to take hers face with her menstrual rag to hammer home the point
05:15some more.
05:16When he goes, said exchange was actually Taylor-Joy's idea, with Eggers only all too happy to oblige
05:21as he'd later note the brilliantly shocking beat was great.
05:255.
05:26Brendan Butchers – Fresh If 2022 will go down as a year simply overflowing
05:31with stunning twists and unexpected turn of events, then Sebastian Stan and Daisy Edgar-Jones
05:36starring Fresh likely sit to top the class in terms of shock value alone.
05:40Kicking things off with an almighty bang, not long after deciding to go for a romantic
05:44trip away together, Steve and Noah's relationship takes a rather unanticipated turn, as the former
05:50is revealed to actually be a human meat harvester who was actually eyeing the latter up for his
05:55clients, go figure.
05:56And it's not long after Noah is shockingly drugged and held captive that those watching
06:00on are exposed to the freakish sight of the cannibal, actually known as Brendan, preparing
06:04a human leg for eventual dinner.
06:06The grisly sight of a person's limb being handled and butchered is one thing, but Brendan's
06:11casual dancing and joyful kitchen antics only succeed in taking the perversity of the entire
06:16situation up a few uncomfortable notches.
06:194.
06:20Naked Meryl Streep Getting Munched Late in the Day – Don't Look Up
06:23It's fair to say more than a few folks were reduced to a sudden bout of explosive laughter
06:27late in the day, as Netflix's Don't Look Up provided fans with an early holiday gift to
06:32unwrap.
06:33The film's world-ending credits rolled into view, it wasn't long before one of the nuttiest
06:37mid-credits stingers in recent times resulted in the insane fulfilling of an algorithmic
06:41prediction.
06:42With the likes of a naked Meryl Streep's president, Janie Orlean, and Mark Rallance's
06:46bash CEO, Peter Urshelwell, waking up from their 22,740-year slumber to discover their escaped
06:53spaceship has found a habitable planet, the increase in oxygen levels seems to suggest a happy ending
06:58of sorts.
06:59Well for everyone but the president that is, upon spotting a beautiful creature in the
07:03distance, Streep's character is quickly eaten alive by what Urshelwell soon claims
07:07to be a Brontorock, the very same entity he claimed would cause her end earlier in the
07:12movie.
07:133.
07:14A Few Gory Moments Are Too Much For Cannes – Crimes Of The Future
07:17Folks opting to vacate a canned screening out of sheer disgust for the events they're witnessing
07:21unfold before them isn't exactly anything new when it comes to the iconic film festival,
07:26and one David Cronenberg is certainly no stranger to this occurrence either.
07:30With his 1996 Crash feature inspiring many a boo and walk out upon its appearance at the
07:35event, and his most recent effort by the name of Crimes Of The Future was at it again, when
07:40it came to inspiring the strange audience as the polarizing director put it, to bolt up out
07:45of their seats and head for the exit on the back of a number of rather intense scenes,
07:50containing everything from a gory child autopsy to orgasm inducing wound licking scenes.
07:552.
07:56A One Time Real Life Couple Gets Steamy – Deep Water
07:59Hooking up and ultimately going their separate ways over the course of shooting and eventually
08:03promoting their incoming steamy thriller by the name of Deep Water.
08:07More than a few movie fans were curious to see how a former couple's on screen chemistry
08:11would play out over the course of the Hulu and Prime video release.
08:15However, arguably the movie's most shocking and raunchy moment doesn't actually involve
08:19Ana de Amas and Ben Affleck getting heaty at all, though the pair are still responsible
08:23for a rather jarring, in more ways than one, instance of vehicular foreplay.
08:28Instead it's another car scene that takes the cake as the most jaw-dropping of the lot,
08:32with Fatal Attraction director Adrian Lin depicting de Amas' Melinda Van Allen pleasuring herself
08:37and her driver-lover in a sequence that would likely be more at home in a softcore porn flick
08:42than a lacklustre psychological thriller.
08:441.
08:45The Butt Plug Showdown – Everything Everywhere All At Once
08:48If you haven't already witnessed the all-out bizarre brilliance that comes to pass in the
08:52Daniels outstanding Everything Everywhere All At Once, you've likely been exposed to
08:56a number of its mind-bending multiversal happenings via many a memorable meme, but in a film that
09:01boasts everything from hot dog-handed lovers, to the most moving rock-infused moments ever captured
09:06on a camera, sorry Dwayne Johnson, it's still safe to say that the undisputed champ when
09:11it comes to on-screen chaos is found in a certain showdown involving some accurately placed sexual
09:16apparatus.
09:17Combining innovative and compelling martial arts action with the sheer absurdity of the
09:21scenario in general, Michelle Yeo's Evelyn is forced to fight off a Butt Plug-enhanced henchman
09:26of sorts, as said item stays firmly lodged in his rear throughout, and the peril is then hilariously
09:32doubled, as another dildo sporting fighter is added to the multiversal mix, leaving you
09:37with no choice but to laugh, wince and stare in complete awe at the impressive feats of
09:41combat as the leading light ultimately brings an end to the bizarreness by yanking out both
09:46items in the mother of all epic slow-mo climaxes.
09:50All in all, shocking doesn't even begin to cover it to be honest.
