Thousands of workers took to the streets of Lyon on Tuesday to protest France’s 2026 budget and planned public spending cuts. Trade unions including CGT, FO, and FSU led the nationwide strike, opposing government plans to divert funds to defence spending. Similar demonstrations are expected in Paris, Marseille, and Toulouse later this week.
