U.S. President Donald Trump delivers a sweeping set of claims during his Cabinet meeting, saying he deserves the Nobel Prize for ending multiple global conflicts — and insisting he could bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end.
Trump says the U.S. is “strong and respected again,” claims NATO leaders jokingly called him “the president of Europe,” and argues the Ukraine war “would never have happened” if he were in office. He sharply criticizes President Biden’s Ukraine funding, boasting that under his leadership the U.S. no longer spends billions but instead sells equipment to Europe at “full price.”
Trump also says U.S. envoys are currently in Moscow to negotiate a potential Russia-Ukraine settlement and repeats that ending such a war would make him deserving of the Nobel Prize. He warns of the massive human toll of the war, citing 27,000 deaths last month, and vows the U.S. will push hard for peace.
