00:00¿Están los robóticos robóticos reales, o otro piezo de AI?
00:08A recient Facebook post claimed that cities in Germany
00:11have installed robóticos robóticos designed to collect lost items.
00:15According to the caption, the mailbox scans the contents
00:17using internal cameras and AI-trained object recognition systems
00:21sending the lost items straight back to its owner.
00:25But the post is entirely fake and the image is AI-generated.
00:28If you look more closely, there are signs that the image is unreal.
00:31For example, the woman's hand appears to go straight through the mailbox
00:34and the shop sign in the background is unreadable, made up of letters that don't exist.
00:40The story was shared by Fact27,
00:42a Facebook page with 222,000 followers reportedly based in India.
00:48Most of the content on this page consists of unverified AI-generated material.
00:52This type of account is far from unusual,
00:54even when it's fairly obvious that the images have been altered.
00:58Comments show that some users still believe it.
01:01It's a phenomenon that's part of what's known as AI-slop.
01:04Low-quality, low-effort and often fantastical content made by AI.
01:09Last year, Conor Hayes, Meta's vice president for generative AI products,
01:13told the Financial Times that the company expects AI systems
01:16to eventually exist on its platforms
01:19in much the same way as user accounts.
01:21Meta has announced it has put regulations in place
01:24to ensure that AI-generated content is clearly identified.
01:28Meta's platforms require AI labels on certain unpaid content
01:32such as realistic audio and video.
01:35However, this doesn't apply to images
01:37which are only labeled if Meta's systems detect AI
01:40or if the user adds the label.
