As they move through the forest, an unexpected threat appears: a giant fishing spider. It creeps to the water’s edge, snatches a fish in an instant, then vanishes back into the rain-soaked jungle like a phantom. After catching their breath, the group continues on its way.

But on the path back to the cave, the girl discovers a gigantic pumpkin — enormous like a boulder, as wide as a small hut. An idea sparks immediately. Using a sharp stone, she begins carving an entrance into the massive pumpkin. The downpour makes the task exhausting; her body is soaked and covered in mud, yet her determination never falters. After a long period of nonstop labor, she successfully creates an opening, turning the giant pumpkin into a potential shelter.

She and her two animal companions return to the cave — where the fire still burns warm and steady. Using the remaining venison the tiger cub and eagle chick had hunted the previous day, she divides a large piece for the cub and a smaller one for the chick. Both animals eat eagerly, slowly regaining their strength.
