00:24na matatagpuan sa bayan ng Cordoba sa lalawigan ng Cebu na ipinatayo ng isang pribadong kumpanya sa tulong ng mga eksperto

00:32mula sa bansang Israel na kilalang global leaders sa desalination technology.

00:38Ayon sa pamunuan, kayang magsupply ng plantang ito ng 20 milyong litro ng potable water kada araw.

00:45Yung desalination process is the process of removing the salt from seawater

00:51and then letting it go through processes including remineralization

00:56para magiging potable siya for people to consume.

01:00Kung titignan natin yung trend worldwide,

01:03desalination has been resorted to by most modern cities now

01:08because nga itong desalination is an inexhaustible and sustainable source of water.

01:13So it's also climate-proof meaning hindi naman siya susceptible to climate change so much

01:21and it's also future-proof because it is a source that is very abundant.

01:27Pagkamat nasa testing and commissioning phase pa lang ito sa ngayon,

01:32kaagapay ang Metro Cebu Water District ay matitikman na natin yung kalidad ng tubig nila dito na nagmula sa dagat.

02:03dun sa usual na filtered water na nainom natin everyday.

02:08Ilang buwan simula ngayon ay magiging bahagi na ito na nga isusupply na water sa major na bahagi ng Metro Cebu.

02:19Ayon sa Department of Science and Technology Region 7,

02:22sinusubukan na rin ng mga stakeholders sa lalawigan ang iba pang mga mapagkukuna ng supply ng tubig,

02:29lalot na apektohan ang water supply sa lalawigan sa panahon ng tag-init.

02:33The Cebu stakeholders right now are exploring other sources of water because in the past we are very dependent on ground water.

02:42So we are now also looking at surface water and of course the desalinated water,

02:48especially that these are more relevant in the island communities.

02:52Kamakailan lang ginanap ang 2025 Water Secure PH Forum sa Cebu,

02:56kasama ang mga kinatawan ng mga LGU sa lalawigan at mga eksperto mula sa abroad,

03:02kung saan tinalakay ang mga problema at mga posibleng hakbang upang mapalakas ang water security.

03:09Binigyang din sa forum kung gaano kahalagaang na itutulong ng efektibong pamamahala,

03:14updated na scientific data at tamang implementasyon ng mga plano para malabanan ang water insecurity.

03:20As you know, water security involves several dimensions and it cannot be related to the supply of water

03:29as availability of water as well as including as well the excess of water that would cause also water-related disasters

03:39which are also happening in Cebu and other parts of the country.
