00:04is that the economy of the Philippines is going to be able to deal with the other people in the U.S.

00:12The U.S. Department of Economy and Development is going to be able to help the ASEAN chairship in the U.S.

00:18to be able to help the opportunities in the U.S.

00:21This is Denise Osorio from the Central News.

00:24On time and on target ang mga proyekto at paghahanda para sa darating na ASEAN Summit activities

00:33sa susunod na taon sa ilayom ng pamumuno ng Pilipinas.

00:37Ayon sa Department of Economy, Planning and Development,

00:39hindi na sagasaan ng mga budgetary anomaly issues ang pondong nakalaan para sa travel at logistical projects.

00:46Ipinaliwanag rin ni DepDev Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, dalawang taon ang preparasyon para sa nasabing event.

00:52The ones that are really, that have some serious problems are the flood-related projects.

00:58But the projects, particularly transport projects, most of these are ODA-funded

01:09and ODA projects were not affected at all by these controversies.

01:17There were no delays in the implementation of these projects.

01:21Dagdag pa ng DepDev, inaasahang magkakaroon ng mga meeting kada linggo sa iba't ibang sulok ng Pilipinas.

01:28Kaya't maaga rin sinimulan ang interagency operations upang masigurong maayos ang pagbisita ng libu-libong mga delegado sa bansa.

01:36Bahagi rin ng paghahanda ang pagpapalakas ng halal-ready services

01:40dahil sa inaasahang laki ng bilang ng Muslim delegates at turistang dadalo.

01:45Even our airports are being fitted to be halal-ready.

01:53So this is, if you've been traveling, makikita nyo na yung alam, yung mga projects na yun.

02:01So, but with respect to the hotel industry, I think they're also ready yung sa tourism.

02:09Giyit din ni Adelion, nakikita rin ang ASEAN chairship ng Pilipinas bilang isang malaking oportunidad

02:14na magbukas ang bansa sa mas malawak na partnerships para mas sustain ang halal economy ng bansa

02:20kahit lumipas na ang chairship ng Pilipinas.

02:23Bukod dito, tinutukan din ang pag-usad o pag-ramp up ng infrastructure spending

02:28para matapos ang mga tinatawag na low-hanging projects gaya ng mga road renovations,

02:33school building constructions, at pag-repair sa mga tulay na matagal nang nangangailangan ng upgrade.

02:38Samantala, nilinaw ng DepDev na bagaman bumagal ang GDP growth ng bansa ngayong taon,

02:44walang basehan ang haka-hakang bumabagsakang ekonomiya.

02:47All these indicators that you have seen so far, even with the last month, the last two months,

02:55indicators have seen so far, still very robust labor market, good inflation, reasonably,

03:02but still the deficits are managed, the debt is very manageable.

03:07What are the signs of collapse? The growth has slowed down, yes,

03:12but that slowdown of growth does not mean collapse, right?

03:16All right? So let's not be carried away by inappropriate description or narrative.
