00:00Makkalabai Sarbaga, Thirumadhi Anjali Ramanan Abaraguludia, Angila Uray Edambarum.
00:08Anbada Tamilula Makkalai, today as we gather on Maavira Naal, our first duty is to bow our heads in honour of the thousands of brave Maavira who sacrificed their lives so that our nation may one day live in freedom.
00:27Their sacrifice is not a memory. It is a responsibility. They placed a torch in our hands to carry forward with courage, unity and clarity.
00:42The liberation of Tamilulaan nation is not an ordinary political demand.
00:48It is a struggle for the survival of a people who have endured centuries of oppression, genocide, national denial and political deception.
01:02As our nation's voice, Anjan Balasingham Aya said, this lifeblood of Sri Lanka's political structure is the Maavamsa mindset.
01:14This mindset will never change. This belief that the island belongs only to the Sinhala Buddhist people, has shaped every government, old or new, left or right, none will ever deliver justice or a political solution to Tamil people.
01:39And the evidence stands before us. Tamil history is being systematically raised. Our archaeological heritage is being seized. Buddha statues are planted across the Tamil homeland as part of a cultural genocide.
01:58The state shield. The state shield is responsible for genocide. A new unitary state constitution is being prepared. Military occupations deepen. Democracy is dismantled.
02:15The global Tamil diaspora. Our strength, our voice is deliberately targeted because the Sri Lankan state knows that diaspora unity is the greatest threat to Sri Lankan supremacy.
02:31Yet, despite these attempts to silence us, on the 21st of November, the city of Brompton in Canada officially recognized the Tamil Elam national flag, a moment that filled Tamil hearts worldwide with pride.
02:51This did not happen by accident. It happened because Tamil Canadians, survivors, families, activists and youth refused to let the world ignore our history, our struggle and our identity.
03:09But, as we celebrate these victories, we must also reflect on the responsibility of nations. Now, we call home Britain. Britain carries a profound historical and moral duty.
03:27Colonial decisions, colonial decision, constitutional structures and political arrangement led the foundation that allowed decades of discrimination, oppression and, ultimately, genocide against Tamils.
03:43Even today, the countries we live in remind us why our struggle must continue.
03:50Not only in our homeland, not only in our homeland, but even in the diaspora, the stability of Elam Tamil life remains uncertain.
04:00Without a homeland of our own, we remain a people scattered across the world, refugees without a nation.
04:10Have we considered the generation yet to come?
04:15What identity will they hold?
04:17What future will they inherit?
04:21Marvira's, who now rest in eternal sleep, ask these same questions.
04:28They hope for a homeland and a secure future for their children.
04:34Give them the strength to make sacrifices the world has rarely witnessed.
04:39And yet, 17 years after the war, what has changed?
04:46The PTA still exists.
04:48Military occupations continue.
04:51Land encroachment continues under the guise of archaeology.
04:56Tamil activists are still arrested and intimidated.
05:01And the state continues to enable the spread of drugs in Tamil areas, targeting our youth and our future.
05:1117 years have passed.
05:14Yet, the core issues remain untouched.
05:17This is why our struggle for identity, dignity and homeland is not just a political solution.
05:25It is a moral duty to ourselves and a responsibility to our future generation.
05:33Therefore, we call upon the British government to play a direct role in supporting a just political solution.
05:42One that recognizes the Tamil nation, protect our people and uphold our right to self-determination.
05:50But let us be clear, liberation is not gifted.
05:57Liberation is not negotiated.
06:00Liberation is won through unity, struggle and relentless political mobilization.
06:07So today, on this second day, we call upon every Tamil in homeland and across the world to rise politically, to unite and to act with renewed determination in the name of our Maavirar.
06:26Their spirit, their courage and their unwavering resolve continue to guide us toward our shared goal, Tamil Ulam.
06:36Tamil Ulam, Tamil Ulam, Tamil Ulam.
06:38Tamil Ulam, Tamil Ulam.
