Transcript
00:00Paul McCartney is targeting Chinese wet markets for the global coronavirus pandemic.
00:05On Tuesday, the Beatles' icon called Howard Stern to give an update on how he's been holding up in quarantine.
00:10McCartney told the SiriusXM host he's currently in Sussex, separated from his wife,
00:14who was in New York when the stay-at-home order was put into place.
00:17The musician noted that the mood of England and America reminded him of the countries after World War II,
00:22saying,
00:23A lot of people are pulling together, and it's a great thing. It's inspiring.
00:27Stern then redirected the conversation to China's wet markets,
00:30which sell freshly slaughtered animals, and some have blamed for the pandemic.
00:34McCartney, who is an outspoken animal lover, did not hold back on his feelings towards the subject, saying,
00:39I really hope that this will mean the Chinese government says,
00:41OK, guys, we have really got to get super hygienic around here.
00:44Let's face it, it is a little bit medieval eating bats.
00:48The musician continued, noting that stars such as himself should call for the markets to close, saying,
00:52They don't need all the people dying. And what's it for? All these medieval practices.
00:56They just need to clean up their act. This may lead to it. If this doesn't, I don't know what will.
01:01McCartney added that in his opinion, their actions have affected the whole world, noting,
01:05Whoever is responsible for this is at war with the world and itself.
