00:15Obesity is a chronic relapsing disease that drives heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancer.
00:24It was linked with 3.7 million diseases globally last year,
00:28and puts huge strain on health systems and economies.
00:35In recent years, a class of drugs called glocagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists or GLP-1s,
00:46which were originally developed to treat diabetes,
00:50have been approved in many countries for the treatment of obesity.
