00:00Welcome to Manor Lords.
00:17Let's get to work.
00:19In this video, I'd like to introduce you to some of the core mechanics of the game,
00:24including regional development, trade, and military recruitment.
00:27We need more workers here.
00:33The map in Manor Lords is divided into regions.
00:36Each region has its own resources, as well as a development tree.
00:43When you upgrade the residential buildings in the region, you get development points,
00:48which you can spend to unlock new development branches.
00:51This means that different regions may specialize in different things.
01:00Some may be more optimized for farming.
01:05Some for mining.
01:07And some will process the resources to make expensive goods, like shoes or clothing.
01:20Depending on the optimization of your production chains, the price of the goods will change,
01:26affecting the market attractiveness.
01:29Free merchants will travel more frequently to towns that have rare and more affordable goods.
01:34These merchants are the only way to get wealth in the game.
01:44Lord's treasury, however, is split from the regional wealth.
01:48As the lord or lady, you must tax your towns and villages in order to get money for your personal endeavors.
01:55There are different taxes giving various benefits.
01:58For example, the tithe goes straight to the church, but in return, the church gives you influence.
02:10Every so often, the king gives out valuable rewards to the most influential lords on the map, including new territories.
02:18You can compliment or insult other lords via the diplomacy system to affect their influence.
02:36The recruitment system in manor lords has been redesigned after some community feedback.
02:42It is now divided into three-unit categories.
02:47First type of recruits are the peasant militia.
02:50You can call to arms the peasants from your villages.
02:53They grab whatever improvised weapons they have and join the fight.
02:58This will hit your economy, and you'll need at least a couple of villages to form an army.
03:03If you want better militia, you must train them at the training camp or the archery range.
03:11The second type of recruits are mercenaries.
03:14They cost silver and a lot of it.
03:21The last type is lords retinue.
03:24This is a limited, heavily armored unit that you can customize to your liking.
03:33Thanks for joining in for this short preview of Mana Lords gameplay systems.
