00:00My Hero Academia Final Season, Episode 9 Review. The calm after All for One's defeat feels unreal.
00:08My Hero Academia Final Season, Episode 9 marks the start of the epilogue arc,
00:14involving a bittersweet blend of goodbyes and new beginnings. Now that All for One,
00:19Shigaraki, and the Paranormal Liberation Front have finally been defeated,
00:23the world of My Hero Academia is more hopeful than ever. There's still a lot of work to be
00:28done for everyone to go back to normal, but the highlight of Episode 9 wasn't the heroes helping
00:34Japan. It was the growth shown by several characters, even if I didn't personally agree with some
00:40plotlines. We've now officially entered the epilogue arc of My Hero Academia. While many fans took issue
00:46with the bittersweet ending, the anime shows why it was fitting. It encompasses what Kohei Horikoshi
00:52was conveying throughout Deku's journey. It's not a typical shonen hero story, but about embracing
00:58your flaws and doing better despite them. My Hero Academia has always been about personal growth.
01:05As Japan rebuilds and grows again, so do the main characters that we've followed in My Hero Academia.
01:12We first meet Bakugo in the hospital after the war, being told that his arm has received
01:17irreparable damage, but he responds by saying he'd do anything to gain his strength back.
01:22He then visits Deku and All Might, overhearing that the former has lost one for all. This is where
01:28it gets emotional, and I teared up. My Hero Academia final season can't keep doing this to me,
01:34especially when it comes to Bakugo. He feels incredibly guilty over how he treated Deku all
01:39these years, and it's such a surprise to see him crying this much. All Might's words hit even harder
01:45as he calls both of them the greatest heroes. I can't imagine how it must feel for Bakugo to hear
01:51that from his idol. This small scene, more than any other episode, perfectly portrays his development.
01:57Bakugo and Deku are now true equals and friends. Class I, A becoming Class II, A was also touching.
02:04Growing up with My Hero Academia and seeing this moment adapted feels like a dream,
02:09a wonderful dream. The biggest moment of Episode IX, however, was the Todoroki family visiting Dabai,
02:15also known as Toya Todoroki. He's on his deathbed, being kept alive. Things are still tense between
02:21them, as it should be, given what Endeavor has done. However, when Dabai began crying and even told
02:27Shodo his favorite food, my heart broke a little. Although Endeavor's redemption arc is necessary,
02:33I can't find myself liking his character. Natsuo's rejection was satisfying, but I was disappointed
02:40that the story made Rey stay with her abusive husband. It's the biggest complaint I have about
02:45Episode IX. The epilogue isn't action-packed, but packs an emotional punch. The action of My Hero Academia
02:53is over, and the epilogue feels like a much-needed break. After all, we keep forgetting that they are
02:59in high school. They shouldn't have to put their lives on the line, but they did. Mirio's speech
03:04solidifies just how much pressure is on them to be the heroes. Episode IX is a great reminder that
03:10emotions are the crux of My Hero Academia. There's no action or villain to hide behind. It's a pure
03:16rollercoaster of emotions, from humor and love to harchetering tragedy. Aeyama's farewell is the
03:22perfect example. At first, the students are shocked and even cry, but then Shinsu's joining their class
03:29distracted them. Overall, regardless of the hardships, the characters move on and grow through them.
03:34The hero world is now more vulnerable yet powerful than ever. The epilogue arc might prove to be
03:40divisive, but it's a great conclusion to My Hero Academia. It's a solid episode for me, with a few
03:46preachy narratives that I could have done without. Still, it's unbelievable that it's the end of an
03:51era. Did you enjoy Episode IX of My Hero Academia final season? Let us know your thoughts in the
