00:05The Blade Runner universe is expanding once again,
00:08this time with an anime series that will air on Adult Swim in the U.S.
00:12Adult Swim has partnered with Alcon Television Group and anime streaming outlet Crunchyroll
00:16to produce Blade Runner Black Lotus, a 13-episode series inspired by Blade Runner 2049,
00:22the sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 classic.
00:25I was looking for six replicants in a city of 106 million people.
00:31Details of the plot are being kept quiet for now,
00:34but we do know that Blade Runner Black Lotus will be set in the year 2032,
00:38in between the two films, and include some familiar faces from the Blade Runner universe.
00:43Tell either side there's no wall. You bought a war.
00:48Jason DeMarco, senior VP, creative director of Adult Swim On Air said,
00:52I first saw Blade Runner in 1982 at age 11.
00:55It has remained one of the defining films of my life.
00:58To be able to explore more of this universe with the incredible talent we have on board
01:02is a dream come true.
01:03Why don't you come on down here and have a dream?
01:05That's not my kind of place.
01:07Animation studio Sola Digital Arts will produce the series.
