00:00Hello and welcome back to my couch.
00:14Today's episode is going to be Super Atrangi
00:17because we have two very special guests tonight.
00:20They're the heart and soul of one of the most anticipated movies of this year.
00:25Atrangi Ray, which is quite aptly named
00:29since no one would have imagined them to be the duo for a romantic story.
00:34They're very different from each other
00:36and they know how to make you fall in love with them.
00:39We have two members of this spectacular cast this evening.
00:43Let's call on our guests for this evening.
00:47She started just a few years ago
00:50but has already become a major force to reckon with in the industry
00:54thanks to her immense talent and her breakthrough performances
00:57in Kidarnath and Simba
00:59and a particularly charming presence on social media.
01:02While she has achieved a lot since her debut,
01:04we must not all forget
01:06and we must also take a pat on our backs
01:09and acknowledge that it all started here.
01:12And him, what do I say about him?
01:14He's raw and a rare talent.
01:17An actor par excellence has bagged every,
01:19and I repeat, every prestigious award there is in Indian cinema.
01:23Continuously raising the bar
01:25with each and every one of his performances.
01:27He's an actor, a producer, a director, writer, singer.
01:32Let's just say he has a lot of arrows in his quiver.
01:35Please welcome for the very first time on my couch
01:37the powerhouse performer Dhanush
01:39and the gorgeous and supremely talented Sarah Ali Khan.
01:42Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome.
01:55Please be seated.
01:56Hello, and you're back where you rightfully began.
01:59Where I rightfully began.
02:01All right.
02:03Okay.
02:04All right.
02:05Hello.
02:06Hello.
02:07Hi, Dhanush.
02:08This is your first time on the couch.
02:10Are you excited?
02:11As excited as I am.
02:12I am very excited.
02:14And I mean, I speak very less.
02:17Yes.
02:17I'm an introvert.
02:18I'm very shy.
02:19So I don't know how much I can add to your show,
02:21but I'm looking forward to have some fun.
02:22Firstly, I want to start by saying that I'm a huge fan.
02:26I absolutely love your work in all the work that you've done,
02:29of course.
02:30But when I saw Asuran,
02:32it felt like somebody had knocked me in my solar plexus.
02:35It was that kind of film.
02:36It was that kind of performance.
02:37And congratulations for your national award.
02:40So rightfully deserving.
02:41Fantastic.
02:42So I hope I said all these things normally
02:44because praise eases everything out.
02:47So when you praise someone,
02:48then they automatically are very comfortable.
02:50And then things just flow organically,
02:52which is what I hope happens tonight.
02:55Sarah, in many ways,
02:57I've completely taken credit
02:58for the fact that you actually made your debut with us.
03:01Yes, on Coffee with Karan.
03:02And it is, of course, there's Kidarnath and there's Simba.
03:05But I would say Coffee with Karan is your biggest blockbuster.
03:07I would agree.
03:08So Danush, you have to know that the episode that she came on,
03:11Coffee with Karan with Saif,
03:12was one of our highest rated shows.
03:14It caused the maximum social media traction.
03:17And Sarah Ali Khan was officially announced as a movie star.
03:20She had not done a movie.
03:21It was just a performance.
03:22No, no, no, no.
03:22It was just a performance.
03:22No, no, no, no.
03:23I'm really happy to have the both of you on this couch with me
03:27on Coffee Shorts with Karan.
03:29Your trailer is looking absolutely amazing.
03:32So congratulations.
03:34Firstly, I couldn't have a better trailer for this title
03:36because it truly gives you an Atrangi vibe.
03:40Like when you watch the trailer,
03:41you see Sarah in this completely like out there character,
03:45of course, dancing and chaka chucking her way through the film
03:47and also weeping copiously when required
03:50and being the beautiful Hindi film heroine
03:52that she was born to be.
03:53And then there's you giving these solemn but solid
03:57but yet completely restrained looks.
03:59And then boom, there's Akshay Kumar
04:01who she goes running into his arms
04:02and chalang maros on top of him
04:04like her life depended on it.
04:06And I'm like, what's going on in this film?
04:09So have you guys got this a lot?
04:10Sarah, I'm going to start with you.
04:11Are you getting a lot of like conjecture about the film?
04:13A lot.
04:14I think that everybody's favorite question is
04:17so what do you feel about love triangles?
04:20So what do you feel about love triangles?
04:22Do you want two girls?
04:23How, you know, there's such a massive age gap.
04:25What's your opinion on this?
04:27And the only thing I can say is like,
04:29watch the film now.
04:29What can I say right now?
04:31You know, what else can anyone say?
04:33I mean, firstly, age is just a number.
04:34But Danush, when you said,
04:36when you agreed to do this film,
04:37what was your first instinct when you heard the narrative?
04:40Um, all I had to hear
04:43was that Anandra is making it
04:45and Himanshu was writing it.
04:47And I was sold.
04:48I said, okay, I'll do it.
04:49And I'll listen to it later.
04:51That's fantastic.
04:52Yeah, I have immense faith in them.
04:54And so do they in me.
04:55Yeah.
04:56So, but then when I,
04:58when Himanshu narrated me the whole thing,
05:00um, I, I found it to be a very difficult script to be made.
05:05Yes.
05:05Uh, but Anand Rai, being Anand Rai as well.
05:08Of course, master storyteller.
05:10Amazing.
05:10Uh, he's done great magic.
05:12And, uh, I'm very happy to be a part of this.
05:15And did you feel, um, you worked with him
05:17on a very successful film, Ranjana,
05:19um, which was acclaimed and loved commercially.
05:23Uh, did you feel that this was a different experience,
05:25a different Anand Rai on this film of Atrangi Ray?
05:28No, he never changes.
05:30He's this, he was, he was the same.
05:31In terms of your directorial actor energy,
05:33was there any kind of a newness
05:35that you felt on the set?
05:37Actually, no, it was like I just returned home, you know.
05:40Uh, I,
05:42So this was like your homecoming.
05:43I felt I never left.
05:44Yeah.
05:44It was like your homecoming.
05:45Yes.
05:46Now, Sara, you've actually worked
05:48with a lot of contemporary actors.
05:49Uh, you worked with, uh, you know, of course,
05:51Kartik and you worked with Varun.
05:53You were in the contemporary zone.
05:54Right.
05:54Um, this time bonafide legends in the frame with you,
05:58you know, was it A, overwhelming?
06:00B, was it, um, also inclusive from their end?
06:05And thirdly, uh, was it a good learning?
06:08Of course, there was a certain level of being overwhelmed.
06:12I was a little bit scared.
06:14I was a little bit, even, you know, intimidated with the thought of,
06:18you know, will I be able to do this?
06:20Is it going to be okay?
06:22You know, is this, like you said, you know,
06:24Bollywood superstar, Thalaiwa, you know,
06:28it was a bit like, is it going to, like, how is it going to be?
06:31But honestly, the minute we were on set,
06:35I think that everybody made me feel very, very included.
06:39Um, I think Akshay sir is extremely humble.
06:43It never felt that, oh, you know, he's worked with my father
06:45and he's so much more senior to me, which he is.
06:48And obviously I'm cognizant of that.
06:49But on that set, there was only, like, love and great energy.
06:54Nice.
06:54And as far as Dhanush is concerned, I mean,
06:57he is somebody that I think is so, so easy going.
07:03He was so supportive the whole time.
07:06And he and Anand have worked together before, you know.
07:08So initially, like, the first time I met them,
07:11they were all doing bhai, bhai to each other
07:13and jumping on each other's laps.
07:14And, like, he has this soda that he gets for Anandji.
07:18Some paneer soda, I don't know what it is.
07:20And they keep, like, doing these things.
07:22But, like, it took 35 seconds for them to also include me,
07:26except for the whole soda drinking part.
07:28But, and it immediately felt like we were a unit, you know.
07:32This is all wonderful and it sounds like a glorious puff piece.
07:36But Dhanusha, I have to ask you,
07:38because Sara is all kinds of crazy as well, you know.
07:40And let's address the elephant in the room.
07:43Hi.
07:43But not intended at all.
07:46Because of colors also today.
07:47No, no, no.
07:47I'm asking for trouble.
07:49And if you can see her in the promotional gigs that are happening,
07:51she is literally catching everyone she can find to chakachak with her.
07:55Except you.
07:55Yesterday, I was, like, watching you on a Pilates machine doing chakachak.
08:00I mean, literally she hasn't left anyone.
08:02That's her.
08:03She takes her social media very seriously.
08:05Have you been subjected to this pangalpan with her phone?
08:08Has she followed you, tracked you and tried to include you in her reels?
08:11Once, I think.
08:13And what was your reaction?
08:15I ran away.
08:16You ran away.
08:17No, but I did catch you in the gym.
08:18You did?
08:19Ah, yes.
08:19I did catch you in the gym.
08:21It's been posted also.
08:22Yes.
08:23And what about Sarah Ki Shairi?
08:25The most prolific poetry I've heard in centuries has been coming out of her ecosystem and heart.
08:31What do you have to say about her beautiful poetry?
08:33You're a filmmaker, writer.
08:34You know, you also are in the zone of creativity.
08:37Do give us your feedback on her poetry.
08:40It's fun.
08:43It's fun.
08:44It's fun.
08:44It's fun.
08:45And she brings an amazing energy on sets.
08:49We laugh a lot.
08:50I mean, she makes sure like there's high energy on sets.
08:56And that's very important.
08:57So, you know, I was asking her this question initially that did you feel included?
09:00Did you feel overwhelmed?
09:02If I know Sarah, she play acted that for two minutes and then she was just herself.
09:08I don't think she was overwhelmed at all.
09:10Not at all.
09:11She doesn't do life.
09:12I didn't believe a word she said.
09:13Yeah, I didn't believe it myself.
09:14I, of course, went through the complete beats of asking that question with sincerity.
09:19But I'm so glad that we can actually agree on this.
09:22She was overwhelmed.
09:23She was like, Dhanush is a mega movie star.
09:26Shag Kumar is a mega movie star.
09:27Anandarai is a great director.
09:28I'm also a director.
09:29It's a great director.
09:31It's a great director.
09:32No, she included me in the team like very quickly.
09:34It's the other way around.
09:36All right.
09:36So did she, any tricks of the trade that Sarah Ali Khan taught you?
09:41I don't think I can learn that.
09:43I mean, it has to like, you know, you should be born with it.
09:46I mean, jokes apart, she was very sincere from the word go.
09:50I mean, I was very pleasantly surprised by how seriously she took this part.
09:56I mean, she knew she landed like a golden character.
10:00You know, it's a dream role for any actor.
10:04It's such a fantastic role.
10:06When I heard the script, I told Anandarai, Anandarai, I wish I had that.
10:10I had Rinku.
10:11But unfortunately, I can play only Vishud.
10:13It's such a brilliant role.
10:15But the beauty is that she knew it and she went all out right from the beginning.
10:20She was very sincere, very hard work.
10:22I'm generally, it's very awkward to say nice things about.
10:27So this really comes from your heart?
10:28It does come from my heart.
10:29I was very surprised by how...
10:31You know, while Sarah Ali Khan is a movie star and movie stardom and sometimes performances or the ability to perform don't always go hand in hand.
10:42You know, not every superstar is a performer beyond.
10:47When you arrived on the sets of Atrangi Ray, did you come A with preconceived notions about the actor Sarah Ali Khan?
10:54And now, post, 100 post days of shoot, what is your take back?
10:59To be very honest, I was a little worried.
11:06It's such a big role and it's a very difficult character to play.
11:12And I was very worried.
11:13I mean, I asked Anandji, how many films has she done?
11:18He told me like two films or three films at that point of time.
11:21And I was like, can she pull it off?
11:24Can she be Rinku with abandon and applaud?
11:26And Anandji kept telling me like, no, no, no, there's something I need.
11:30I see in her.
11:31I mean, he does see that.
11:33I don't know how he cracks that.
11:35For some reason, out of nowhere, he brought me here for Ranjana and God knows why.
11:41And he just, he had this conviction like, this is my actor for this film.
11:45Like that, I don't know, something he must have seen in her.
11:49But I was very, very worried and I walked into the sets and I saw this girl.
11:52Like, of course, it was her like fourth film or third film I saw.
11:56You're an actor who has so much to learn, but also amazing appetite to learn and work hard.
12:04And if that is there, I think anything is achievable.
12:08So your take back is that she's done a super solid job.
12:11You will be very surprised.
12:12Ah, that's what I wanted to hear.
12:14So the buzz on the street or the word on the street is that Sara Ali Khan has truly nailed it.
12:21Everybody knows that Akshay Kumar brings his solid stardom and Dhanush is an exemplary artist.
12:27But apparently the real surprise of the film is your performance.
12:31And not surprise.
12:32And I say this with a lot of love and a lot of respect for your craft and your hard work.
12:36But I think it always takes that one film for an actor to plonk themselves from star to artist.
12:43And I think this could very well be your moment.
12:46And what does that make you feel, Sara?
12:47I hope so.
12:49I really hope so.
12:51Because the one thing I'll say is that I don't know if it's good, if it's bad, if it's different.
12:57But I think it's been a while since I've done anything with total sincerity.
13:05I think, you know, I mean, of course, like one is sincere and I am a hardworking person.
13:09And that's been there in every film that I've done.
13:11But I don't think I've connected with a character the amount I have with Rinku.
13:18And I don't think I have been as honest with myself as I have been this time around.
13:25And I think, I hope people like my work.
13:29But the one thing I can say already is playing Rinku is probably one of the most honest things I've done.
13:35And it's probably the only positive thing that 2020 saw for me.
13:40And I'm thankful that I had that.
13:41When you say Rinku so many times, it's such a glorious coincidence that it's the pet name of your grandmother.
13:46I put up a story on her birthday saying, real Rinku wishes real Rinku happy birthday.
13:51So Rinku apparently doesn't want an arranged marriage.
13:53She wants a Swayambar.
13:55Is that, how true is that?
13:57I think in that moment, she's...
13:59Rather presumptuous of Rinku.
14:00Yeah, well...
14:01To assume that there'll be a lineup.
14:03No, she's very innocent.
14:04She really thinks they will.
14:05And she's just telling him that, please don't take our marriage seriously.
14:09Like, I deserve a Swayambar.
14:12That's what the line is.
14:13That is, you deserve a Swayambar.
14:14I love that.
14:15I love it.
14:16That's got sass and swag both.
14:17It's like, you know, do you know where I'm from?
14:20You know?
14:21But Sara Ali Khan, what does the Swayambar in the real world mean to you?
14:25You think it's an option here as well?
14:27Because you are single now.
14:28I am single.
14:29And I think it would be great.
14:31I would love it.
14:32Yeah.
14:33But it wouldn't just be like them standing and me choosing.
14:36Like, you know, like perform and like games and rounds and...
14:40Okay.
14:40Maybe there'll be nobody standing.
14:42If you can call it that.
14:42I'm just imagining this Swayambar.
14:44So, Danush.
14:45We have this exciting film, Atrangi Ray, that releases on the 24th of December.
14:51It releases on Disney Plus Hotstar.
14:53Massive platform.
14:54We do know that Disney Plus Hotstar is the largest platform reaching to literally every home and house in India.
15:00You'll have the entire country watching the film.
15:03And it's such a huge weekend.
15:05There's celebration in the air anyway.
15:07It's the month of December.
15:08Atrangi Ray shows you color, shows you emotion, shows you music.
15:11Air Raiman, spectacular music.
15:13Danush has sung a song as well.
15:14So, that makes it even more special.
15:17I'm like, there's this whole package.
15:18They didn't let me sing.
15:19No, rightfully, Sara.
15:21Rightfully.
15:21But Danush said he would do it with me.
15:23But then he never did it.
15:25He knows better.
15:26He just knows better.
15:28Didn't you say it?
15:29Did you say it?
15:30I did.
15:30He had a polite moment, Sara.
15:32So, this movie coming out, it's an important film for you in the Hindi language, of course.
15:39You've had massive successes in other languages.
15:42But for Hindi, post-Ranjana, this isn't important.
15:44Do you look at it like that?
15:46Or do you look at each film?
15:48I know Rajamali sir had said that let's start looking at films like Indian films.
15:53And not as Telugu films or Tamil films or Kannad films or Malayalam or Hindi or Gujarati Marathi.
15:59Are you also of that opinion that we should all collectively look at ourselves as products of Indian cinema and not regional anymore?
16:07Indeed, I said it long back in 2013 when I was promoting Ranjana.
16:12I said the same thing.
16:13It should be like, don't call it North films, South films.
16:15It should be like Indian films.
16:17I'm an Indian actor.
16:17So, don't write when you write about me, don't write South actor Dhanush.
16:22Like, I'm just an actor, that's it.
16:24And I don't see this as, like, it's a very important film for me in Hindi.
16:30It is an important film for me because it's directed by my brother.
16:35So, it is very important that way.
16:37Right.
16:37But in other ways, every film I do is very important for me.
16:41And I don't choose films based on, like, I need this for Hindi, I need this for Tamil.
16:48Whatever story comes my way, I find it interesting.
16:51I try to be a part of it and I try to do justice to that character.
16:55That's how I'm seeing this one also.
16:57So, every film has those big sequences, those big moments that, you know, a lot of focus and energy goes on.
17:03And then there are incidents around them.
17:05And is there a story that, Sara, you have to tell about a particular moment where you shot that was like a big deal
17:12and then things that happened were funnier than you expected or any kind of a throwback memory to a day on the sets of A Trangire?
17:20One day is so hard to think of.
17:22No, but anything, a moment, like an incident, anything.
17:25That, you know, there's always that one or two, sometimes more, moments of the film that are either funny, crazy or emotionally draining
17:32or just like, like, what the hell just happened?
17:35You know, there's always that.
17:37I think that, for me, probably shooting Chaka Chaka in Madurai was a different experience because we'd been in lockdown for like six months.
17:49And it's the first thing that one did after lockdown.
17:53Also, I haven't really been to Madurai before.
17:56Or really anywhere in the South properly.
17:59So I think being there and kind of, you know, experiencing that world, the way Pankaj Sures, you know, shot those colours,
18:08doing my first solo song.
18:12I think all of that was probably a very interesting time.
18:14And Vijay Ganguly shot that song, right?
18:16I know why I know about the song or rather when I heard it first, because when we were in Goa together,
18:21Sarah would come to where I was staying to rehearse.
18:24She had her dance choreographer assistant with it.
18:26Wasn't that the same song?
18:27Yes, it was.
18:28It was this song.
18:29Yeah.
18:29So I kind of heard.
18:30In lockdown.
18:30I heard that song.
18:32You know, so when I heard it, I said, oh my God, this is the song she was rehearsing for and very diligently every day.
18:36In your bathroom?
18:38In my bathroom.
18:38I didn't want to tell you this, but now I guess I can because your room's mirror was very small.
18:42But the bathroom had a huge mirror.
18:44You were chaka-chaking in my bathroom?
18:46I was chaka-chaking in your bathroom.
18:48Okay.
18:48That was the first Atrangi face I did it.
18:50Yes, very Atrangi that story is as well.
18:53Now, before we get into the rapid fire mode, which is our fun and games part, Akshay Kumar, Nanush.
18:59I know you have, you worked with Mr. Bachchan.
19:02And of course, you know, you have worked with Anand on films and, you know, lesser movie stars from the Hindi belt.
19:10But Akshay Kumar has been a superstar for over three decades.
19:14What was that experience?
19:15Did you have a lot of work with him?
19:16Did you have a lot of interaction with him off screen?
19:20Off screen, not much.
19:23But it was great working with him.
19:25He brings in great energy.
19:27He's very kind, sweet, and a very honest man.
19:30Very honest.
19:31And that honesty adds something so beautiful to him on screen and off screen.
19:36It's amazing and I had a great experience working with him and knowing him better.
19:44He's a solid man and a good friend and also a prankster.
19:48Sarah, have you been subjected to any?
19:50Like all the time, like this morning.
19:52Akshay sir said, Prasad, take it, Prasad, take it.
19:54And he gave me something and it was Lassan.
19:57Is that a nice thing to do?
19:59Akshay sir, why did you do this?
20:01I can imagine Akshay doing these things.
20:02That's why I asked.
20:04And I knew you may have been more the subject of his prankster.
20:06I really was.
20:08Yes.
20:09Well, Akshay Kumar, a mega movie star, is of course adding that certain kind of intrigue factor
20:15in the promo of Atrangi Ray.
20:18The music is already playing everywhere else.
20:20Huge build up to the film and we are all vastly excited.
20:23But I'm even more excited to play rapid fire with you all.
20:25And I'm so excited to play rapid fire with Dhanush.
20:28Oh God.
20:29All right, so can we have the hamper please?
20:32My hamper.
20:33Oh, she's already staked her claim.
20:35Yours.
20:36You win the national award.
20:39I win the hamper.
20:40All right, so we're going to start.
20:42I have to make one minor change.
20:43I have to change my glasses.
20:44These are my glamour glasses.
20:47These are my numbered ones.
20:49Okay, I see y'all even better.
20:51Okay.
20:52Dhanush, are you ready?
20:54Brace yourself.
20:55All right, Dhanush, all set.
20:57We're going to start with you.
20:58Oh my God.
20:58But why are you gasping for...
21:00Because he better not be good.
21:03All right.
21:04Can you rank the actors in terms of their acting talent as what you think of them?
21:10Ranveer Singh, Ranveer Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Rajkumar Rao, Ayushman Khurana.
21:20Ranveer.
21:21Kapoor.
21:22Kapoor.
21:22Okay.
21:23Vicky Kaushal.
21:23Ranveer Singh, Ranveer Singh, Rajkumar Rao, Ayushman and Varun.
21:30Exactly in that order.
21:32Clear.
21:32All right.
21:33Choose one.
21:33Anand Rai or R Balki?
21:36Anand El Rai.
21:36Okay.
21:37Which director would you like to work with in your next film?
21:41Across India this is.
21:42There's Anurakashyab, there's Sanjay Bansali, there's me, Zoe Akhtar, Shankar, Rajah Molli.
21:48Can I again say Anand El Rai?
21:49You've already worked with him.
21:50That's not an option.
21:52Rajah Molli.
21:53Rajah Molli.
21:53Absolutely no-brainer there.
21:55Yeah.
21:56Like you know, I want to go Rajah Molli and I'm not even an actor.
22:00One perception about you in the media which you would like to break?
22:03That I don't do more Hindi films.
22:06I'm open to do more Hindi films.
22:08Okay, lovely.
22:09Good clarification.
22:12The worst criticism when you debuted in Hindi films was?
22:15To be very honest, nothing.
22:17I was welcomed with such love.
22:19As you were, as I remember.
22:21Yes.
22:21One thing which the Hindi film industry can learn from the industries down south?
22:27Punctuality.
22:28I was just going to say.
22:29Punctuality.
22:30Well, but not a problem with Akshay Kumar though.
22:33Not at all.
22:34A recent film which you think was overrated?
22:39Parasite.
22:40Parasite.
22:41Oh, you thought it was overrated?
22:42I felt it.
22:43Yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:43Probably too much hype was given to me.
22:45Yeah, you saw much after the hype then.
22:47Much after the hype.
22:48If you woke up one morning as Rajani sir, what would you do?
22:51I'll stay here as Rajani sir.
22:54Refuse to sleep.
22:57A recent film or show which you wish you had done?
23:00Or a character that you saw and you wish you could have projected or portrayed?
23:04Anthony Hopkins in The Father.
23:06What a fantastic film.
23:08And he's just breathtaking.
23:10Breathtaking.
23:11He did win the Academy Award, didn't he?
23:12He did.
23:13He did.
23:13I saw it much before the Academy Awards and when I was done, I was like, give it to him already.
23:20Just give it to him already.
23:21Blown away.
23:21It's what I felt when I saw Kate Winslet in Merovi's Town.
23:24I was like, someone just go and give her whatever award there is.
23:28It's what I'm feeling now with the hamper.
23:29If you're to play someone in a biopic, do you have a pick?
23:34Two.
23:35I have two.
23:36Rajani Kant and Ilay Rajya sir.
23:38Oh.
23:39Oh, I want to see both movies.
23:41Can somebody make that already?
23:43Can somebody make Dhanush's Rajani sir?
23:45I mean, that would be so legendary.
23:46It would be amazing.
23:48Ilay Rajya also, what an incredible talent.
23:50A Tamil film of yours, which you think you would remake for the audiences, if at all.
23:58It's called Poladavan, which means not a guy you mess with, basically.
24:02Nice.
24:04Again, it was made by Vettri Maran.
24:07Favorite record.
24:07It was our first film together.
24:09What is it called again?
24:11Poladavan.
24:11Poladavan.
24:12Poladavan.
24:12Are the rights available?
24:14I'm not too sure, but it's amazing.
24:17I'm just playing the producer.
24:19All right.
24:19Who was better to work with, Sonam or Sara?
24:23I'll have to say, Sonam.
24:25Wow.
24:26Not offensive at all.
24:28I'm losing my hat for her.
24:29I'm losing my...
24:30Not taking anything, all the kindness, sweetness and fun Sara was on the sets of Atrangire.
24:39But Sonam, because she was, it's very special.
24:42She's my first co-star here in Hindi films and a guy from South coming here.
24:47And for her to give you the kind of energy.
24:49And she made me feel very comfortable and very kind to me.
24:53I think I'm very grateful for that.
24:56Fantastic.
24:57If you had to give up one because there was a gun on your head, acting or music, which would you give up?
25:03Acting.
25:05Music is everything to me.
25:06I mean, the actor thrives from the music.
25:08If there's no music, every part of me will perish.
25:12Fantastic.
25:13And applause, applause.
25:14What a great debut on Coffee with Karan's Rapid Fire.
25:17Answered with such clarity, with such immediateness, with such rapidness.
25:21Not a pause there.
25:23This is my kind of performance.
25:25Sara, you have a lot to live up.
25:26I've lost Karan.
25:27It's called rapid fire.
25:28I'm feeling awful.
25:28But people are not rapid and rarely is there fire.
25:31And rarely is there honesty and that's what I appreciated most about your performance.
25:34It's over.
25:35Can we share the hamper?
25:36You can take it.
25:37But Sara, you never know.
25:38You could pull a rabbit out of your hat.
25:40Alright.
25:41Sara, your rapid fire starts now.
25:43Oh my god.
25:44Name four people that you would want in your swamber.
25:47They can be married.
25:50I'm just asking you a question.
25:51I'm not playing moral police here.
25:53Okay, okay, okay.
25:54Ranveer Singh.
25:56Ranveer Singh twice.
25:59Yeah, you're losing.
26:00You're losing them.
26:00Okay.
26:01Ranveer Singh, Vijay Devarkonda, Vicky Kaushal Varun Dhawan.
26:05Really quite the marital chaser, aren't you?
26:07Stop it, Karan.
26:08It's a long thing to say.
26:11All these wives are watching.
26:13I'm just telling you.
26:13It's fine.
26:14Hopefully the husbands are also.
26:17Okay.
26:20If one girl gets two things in one time, what will you get?
26:25This is your line.
26:26If this dialogue of Rinku had to be applied to Sara, what would those two things be?
26:31Being able to eat everything I want but still being able to sit without covering my stomach.
26:35Like I am right now.
26:36Right.
26:37Isn't that everyone's aspiration?
26:38Yes.
26:38Alright, okay.
26:39Rank these actors in terms of their acting ability as per you and your opinion only.
26:44Janvi Kapoor, Aliyah Bhatt, Kiara Advani, Sanya Malhotra, Kriti Sanand.
26:49I feel like if I don't answer it, I'll lose.
26:51But I don't know what to say.
26:52I think Aliyah Bhatt is number one and that's all I know.
26:55And the rest, you are not ranking in any...
26:57No, I mean like who am I?
26:58I just know that Aliyah Bhatt is number one.
27:00The worst criticism you ever got for your acting.
27:03Oh, oh, I think Mr. Kamal R. Khan said that I've been exposed after Lavaj Kal.
27:12That was pretty rude.
27:14That you were exposed?
27:14Yeah, he's like she's been exposed.
27:17He also said never mind.
27:18Yeah.
27:18Okay.
27:19Alright.
27:20If you had one piece of advice to Taimur for entering the industry, what would that be?
27:24I think he's got it.
27:26He's not got it.
27:28He's five years old.
27:29Yeah, okay, whatever.
27:30How can he have it?
27:32Oh my God, I don't know what to say.
27:33Why am I so bad?
27:34Piece of advice to Taimur.
27:36Yeah, I mean he's like...
27:37Or Ibrahim maybe.
27:39Ibrahim is older so I guess I would probably tell him to...
27:43Same thing my parents always tell me.
27:45Stay balanced and have a sense of yourself external to the films.
27:48Nice.
27:48I would tell Taimur the same thing.
27:49Alright.
27:51Which hashtag would you give the following actors?
27:54Akshay Kumar.
27:56Hashtag Khiladi.
27:58Dhanush.
27:59Hashtag number one.
28:01Kareena Kapoor Khan.
28:04Hashtag superstar.
28:06Saif Ali Khan.
28:08Hashtag daddy cool.
28:09Daddy cool.
28:11The current actress right now that you think is your role model in the movie fraternity?
28:15Ali Abhad.
28:16Okay.
28:16One thing you envy about Dhanush?
28:19I think the effortlessness and ease with which he does everything he does.
28:23Fantastic.
28:24In a wedding ceremony from the industry, who would be doing the following?
28:27Matchmaking.
28:28Not you.
28:30Hey, that's Seema ji.
28:32Taparia.
28:32Yeah.
28:33Okay.
28:33I love it.
28:34Okay.
28:34Finding their own match.
28:37Again, not me.
28:39Finding their own match.
28:40I don't know.
28:41Ranbir Kapoor.
28:43He should find his own match.
28:44Isn't he matched already?
28:46Yeah.
28:46Okay.
28:47Whatever.
28:47Dance.
28:48Taking over the dance floor.
28:50I guess Ranbir.
28:52Heading straight to the bar.
28:54Nobody drinks and all.
28:57I don't know what all this means.
28:59Focused on food.
29:00Between me and Janbir, depending on who's shooting.
29:03The next day.
29:04Yes.
29:04Okay.
29:05That was your rapid fire.
29:07I'm so upset.
29:08I'm really sorry.
29:09I normally consult the, you know, the control room and they come and whisper in my ear.
29:15But I don't think I need you because a startlingly disappointing portrayal of a rapid fire from the erstwhile winner and having swept the rapid fire round.
29:29What happened?
29:30What an underwhelming second run at the rapid fire round.
29:34My God, I'm feeling awful.
29:36Were you nervous of Danush?
29:39No, she's not.
29:40It was not that.
29:43I don't know.
29:44Are you feeling sad?
29:46Because you didn't win.
29:47Danush, congratulations on your debut.
29:50You can.
29:50I get it.
29:51Oh my God.
29:52This is so.
29:53Very heavy.
29:54You don't have to hold it.
29:55Just touch it like it's cold.
29:57And I will keep it right next to you.
30:00God, my L4, L5 is compromised.
30:02Sarah, you do have some kind of making up to do because there is a quiz we play also.
30:08But what is your immediate emotion?
30:11Disappointment.
30:13I'll go back to Glamour.
30:15Disheartened.
30:17A little bit shocked.
30:21Danush, how does it feel?
30:22Applause, applause, applause, applause.
30:24Clap.
30:24He won the Emperor.
30:27I think she let me win.
30:28She's just being nice to me.
30:29I did not let you win.
30:31You're just being humble as usual.
30:34It's nice.
30:34It feels nice.
30:35I'm very curious what's there.
30:37He's curious.
30:38I would have been grateful.
30:39Give it to me.
30:41See, all your answers, there are not questions, are all very good.
30:44All right.
30:45Thank you, Danush.
30:46Thank you for participating and for answering with such aplomb.
30:49We love it.
30:50More to come.
30:50And you have to come officially on the show as well.
30:52You have to make me that promise.
30:54I'm not coming with you for sure.
30:56We are not yet invited.
30:57You are inviting him.
30:59Whatever.
30:59Fun and games to follow, you can win that.
31:01There's a quiz, which is the last bit.
31:03Can we get the quiz table, please?
31:06All right.
31:06Sarah, that's your station.
31:08Danush, that's yours.
31:09Now, if you haven't watched the game before or the show before,
31:15and I know you have, just to tell you that I will ask questions.
31:19And if you know the answer, you press it immediately.
31:21The first person to press the buzzer will be asked.
31:24If they give me the incorrect answer, I will then go to their opponent.
31:29Vice versa.
31:30So, if you know, yes, it's a quizy kind of a zone,
31:34but very much in the zone that we operate in.
31:37So, nothing like things out of our periphery.
31:40So, pressing the buzzer, but knowing the answer is integral.
31:44Pressing the buzzer, we can all do.
31:45If you don't know the answer, and you don't give it to me immediately,
31:48I will have to pass it on.
31:50Okay.
31:50Are we ready?
31:51Yeah.
31:52All guns blazing.
31:53All right.
31:54This is the coffee quiz.
31:57And here goes.
31:58You have lots of catching up to do, Sarah.
32:00I'm trying.
32:00I hope and pray that this one comes your way,
32:05but still extending all my luck and love to you.
32:07No, none of that.
32:08Oh, okay.
32:10Who has the most number of Instagram followers in India?
32:15Virat Kohli.
32:16Correct.
32:17Virat Kohli does have close to 170...
32:20No, 176 million.
32:21That's many more million.
32:22176 million lead following in India.
32:27All right.
32:28Which film was the official entry for the Academy Awards in the year 2021?
32:33Jellicoot.
32:34Bang on.
32:35Complete this Instagram trend name.
32:37Let's skip.
32:38To the best part.
32:39Correct.
32:39You have no idea.
32:42And then they shoot, you know, like, you're like, okay.
32:44Very quickly, sing me any song by A.R. Rahman.
32:48I should have given a chance.
32:53I mean, we should first decide which went first.
32:55Me, me, me.
32:56She didn't go first.
32:57Really?
32:57Yeah, come on.
32:58Tere wali, tere wali, man.
33:00No, no, no.
33:00We got it one way.
33:01Don't start dancing.
33:02Whatever you do, don't start dancing.
33:03Okay.
33:03Okay.
33:04Someone's keeping score, I hope.
33:06Me, I'm winning.
33:07Okay.
33:08Clearly.
33:09All right.
33:10Do the step right now of the song, Chaiya, Chaiya.
33:18And you have just not interested.
33:20I won.
33:21I'm winning.
33:22Okay, got it.
33:24What color of balloons does Akshay Kumar hold in his entry?
33:27Yes, you.
33:28White and pink.
33:30Got it.
33:30Right.
33:30Correct.
33:31White and pink it is.
33:31Name me five filmmakers of Hindi cinema.
33:37What do you mean?
33:39Name five filmmakers of Hindi cinema.
33:40Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela, Bansali, Zoya Akhtar, Anand, El Rai, Gattu Kapoor.
33:45Name me five filmmakers from the southern part of India.
33:53Selvaragban, Vetri Maharan, Balu Mehdra, Mani Ratnam, and...
33:59Rajamadi.
33:59I'll help you.
34:00Rajamadi.
34:01So I went because I helped him, remember?
34:02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:04I give him that point.
34:05I give you that point.
34:06Because he's a pan-Indian filmmaker, name three films that Rajamali has directed.
34:12Bahubali 1, Bahubali 2, RRR.
34:14Who went first?
34:14Bahubali is one film.
34:15We don't count.
34:16No, no.
34:16How can you do that?
34:17No, I want Bahubali, RRR on end.
34:22Bahubali, the beginning and the end.
34:24No.
34:25Bahubali is one film.
34:27It's in two parts, but it's one film.
34:29Three.
34:30Three.
34:30Three.
34:30No.
34:30Bahubali, RRR, RRR.
34:32Ega.
34:33Ega, got it.
34:34Now we have five all and now we have...
34:36That's just so unfair.
34:38I even gave two.
34:41She.
34:41All right.
34:43Are you ready?
34:44Whatever.
34:46Name me the singer in India.
34:48She's a female singer with a maximum Instagram following.
34:50Neha Kakar?
34:51Correct.
34:52Got it.
34:52And it is Sara Ali Khan's win all the way.
34:56Thank you so much.
34:59We tried.
35:00I tried too.
35:01As you say, you can't win them all.
35:02The national award, the coffee hamper.
35:04Yeah.
35:04I won the expensive gift at least.
35:06All right.
35:07Now this big gift coming your way, Sara, is very heavy.
35:10So we won't lift it.
35:11Okay.
35:11But it's yours.
35:12Okay.
35:12You can stake claim.
35:14Okay.
35:14Well, you can't win them all.
35:15Like I said, to both of you.
35:16You know, you won everything else.
35:18Every honor that the country has ever, ever bestowed on you.
35:21And then you win the prestigious coffee with Karan hamper.
35:24And of course, Sara, your performance, everyone's talking about it.
35:28Exemplary work.
35:29So you lost it on the hamper, but you won the quiz prize.
35:32So as I said, it's been a bit of a, you know, up and down situation.
35:36But there's been an up and there's been a down.
35:38And that's what we said.
35:39What your parents told you, keep your balance.
35:41So what they said has come true.
35:43Now, we would like to keep our balance in our personal lives,
35:47but we would love abandon in our professional lives.
35:50And abandon is what Atrangi Ray is all about.
35:53Abandon of emotion, abandon of joy, of music, of celebration.
35:58But at the end, I believe it's so beautifully feel-good and heartwarming
