Da'Vine Joy Randolph chats with THR at the 'Only Murders in the Building' premiere and shares how her character's relationship with the Only Murders trio evolves in season four. Plus, she dishes on filming the "found footage" episode.
Transcript
00:00It seems like the Only Murders trio is maybe growing on the detective a little bit this season.
00:06What can you tease about how her relationship with them evolves in season four?
00:10I mean, I think she's always loved them very much and cared about them,
00:13and that was something that just developed and grew over time.
00:15I think now she's just beginning to show it in covert ways,
00:19or how she's trying to be very protective of them,
00:22and also their characters.
00:25To be clear, their characters of two people individually are getting older,
00:30and so she doesn't want them running out there, doing all fighting crime,
00:35unprotected, with no firearms.
00:38So she's a little worried about them.
00:40There's a found footage episode this season that you're a part of.
00:43What was it like shooting that, and how was it kind of challenging compared to usually?
00:47Actually, I thought it was really cool.
00:48So basically, there were just cameras all around the set,
00:51because we're used to it being right here or moving with us.
00:54And so what was really fun is that it was already there,
00:57and we basically just, almost like a play,
01:00just did it, and they caught it from different angles.
01:03It was really cool. I like that.
