00:00It was unfortunate. I think Will was wrong.
00:03John Oliver is criticizing O.J. Simpson for sharing his opinion about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at last week's Oscars.
00:11On Sunday's episode of HBO's Last Week Tonight, Oliver showed a video in which Simpson addressed the incident,
00:16tweeting the video from his account, saying he was wrong, but I understand the sentiment.
00:20Every comedian in the country had an O.J. routine, and don't think I wouldn't want to be slapped a couple of those guys,
00:28but you gotta accept it. It's humor.
00:31He continued, it was unfortunate. I think Will was wrong. Look, I understand the feeling.
00:36However, on Sunday's episode of his show, Oliver wasn't having it, saying, nope, not you, O.J., not you.
00:42No one wants to hear from you on this, especially when you seem to be coming live from the COVID patio of a Senor Frogs.
00:49You can just sit this one out. Think of this situation like a rowdy bachelorette ordering a mimosa.
00:54We want as little juice involved here as humanly possible.
00:57Saturday Night Live also parodied the incident on this weekend's show,
01:01with Kenan Thompson appearing as Simpson during Weekend Update.
01:04I mean, well, I don't want to say that you got rage issues, but hey, if the glove fits.
