00:00One is always right. One is prefabricated in purity.
00:03This is Ralph Nader's understanding of the world.
00:06The man needs to go away. I think he needs to live in a different country.
00:09He's done enough damage to this one. Let him damage somebody else's now.
00:14In the late 60s and early 70s, Ralph would be in national polls as one of the most famous, admired Americans.
00:19People would write to him thinking that he could solve their problems.
00:23And I think Ralph got more mail than the Beatles.
00:25Ralph had decided to do six or eight teams attacking different agencies.
00:30Members of the press have referred to you as Nader's Raiders.
00:33We were going to make the country what it ought to be by working and pressing the system to work.
00:39He had built a legislative record as a private citizen that would have been the envy of any modern president.
00:44Imagine if you got in a car and the airbag said Ralph Nader or if his seatbelt said Nader
00:49or you look at the air and it's cleaner and it says Nader on it.
00:51If people would see that on a day-to-day basis, they'd understand the effect that this guy has had on their daily life.
00:57Thank you, Ralph, for the Iraq war.
01:00Thank you, Ralph, for the tax cuts.
01:01Thank you, Ralph, for the destruction of the environment.
01:03Thank you, Ralph, for the destruction of the Constitution.
01:07I do think that I'll go across me the election.
01:10Dad used to work for that guy.
01:11I was so proud of all that.
01:12And now every time I yell, what's that crazy guy up to?
01:15Maybe if we started talking about civic globalization instead of corporate globalization, the world would move forward.
01:28We don't have a government of buying for the people.
01:31We have a government of the Exxons by the General Motors for the DuPont.
01:34They killed him for saying that there's not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties.
01:38And then the Democrats spent the next four years proving that he was right.
01:41Ralph, go back to examining the rear end of automobiles.
01:44I think our democracy is a fraud.
01:47It's a consumer fraud.
01:48He actually believes in the legal system.
01:50And he believes in the marketplace.
01:52He believes in all these really American things.
01:54And he's trashed for it.
01:57When I was 10, my father said, well, Ralph, what did you learn in school today?
02:00Did you learn how to believe or did you learn how to think?
02:05I wouldn't want this to hurt his legacy.
02:08I don't care about my personal legacy.
02:14What are yourorama waiver?
02:17I don't care about your own watch今, but I know.
02:19I don't know.
02:19I don't care about him again, but I would know.
02:19I'm going to learn how to believe a Russian community.
02:20I don't care about him.
02:20I don't care about him now, but I'm still here.
02:21I'm going to be a reality in the next one.
02:23I don't care about him.
02:24I don't care about him.
02:25I don't care about you.
02:26I don't care about you.
02:27I'm going to hear you.
