Cinq ans après "Jurassic World: Le Monde d'après", l’écologie de la planète s’est révélée globalement inhospitalière pour les dinosaures. Ceux qui subsistent vivent dans des environnements équatoriaux isolés dont les climats sont proches de ceux dans lesquels ils s’épanouissaient autrefois. Parmi les créatures les plus monstrueuses de cette biosphère tropicale, trois spécimens sont la clé d’un remède miraculeux qui pourrait bien sauver l’humanité.
