00:00I think we just have to start this episode with a scream.
00:13No, just me, because I have the most special guest ever.
00:17I have manifested this.
00:19First of all, this guest is on the wall.
00:21I don't know if we've ever had a guest in here that's been on the wall.
00:24Was I always there?
00:25Yes, love, since the beginning.
00:28Okay, we have, seriously, a dear friend of mine, but also, like, I'm such a fan of this woman.
00:34She is an entrepreneur.
00:35She's a genius.
00:35She's hilarious.
00:36I fell in love with her when I first met her.
00:38We have Hayley Bieber on the podcast.
00:40What?
00:42What?
00:43Why are you here?
00:45Oh.
00:46Oh, sorry.
00:46I thought you went to give me a...
00:49Gorgeous.
00:49Well, I'm kind of straight recently.
00:51I've been dapping people up.
00:52I'm not kidding.
00:53Are you good at dapping?
00:54Yo, what's up?
00:54Me with Justin?
00:55Yo, what's up?
00:56Can I do that to him?
00:57Of course.
00:58What will he do?
00:59He would love that.
01:00I'm going to do it to him.
01:01Do that.
01:01Next time you see him.
01:03He's going to be like, what the hell is this?
01:05He's going to be like, great to see you, Owen.
01:07He's so lovely.
01:08I didn't know he knew who I was.
01:10What do you mean he loves you?
01:11I know.
01:12And we became very close, ultimately.
01:13I know.
01:14Okay, so I have a story.
01:15Okay, so let's get into the stories, because I know which one you're about to tell.
01:18Okay.
01:18It's hilarious.
01:18I have a story.
01:19So, Hayley invited me to Justin's listening party for Swag.
01:25Great night.
01:26Cool invite to get.
01:28Very cool.
01:29You guys are jealous.
01:30It was a great night.
01:31Gorgeous setting.
01:32Yeah.
01:33With the golf?
01:33I walk in a warehouse.
01:34A golf?
01:35There was a literally golf tournament.
01:37We were with that.
01:38Tiger Woods was there.
01:39No, I'm joking.
01:40But it was gorgeous.
01:41It was gorgeous.
01:41It was great.
01:41Really fun.
01:43And so, I was wearing a Balenciaga jacket.
01:48Whoa.
01:49Okay, humble brag.
01:51A rarity.
01:53A rarity for me.
01:54So, Balenciaga jacket.
01:56And it was actually loaned to me.
01:58My boyfriend's a stylist.
01:59Everyone knows this on the podcast.
02:00But for those who don't.
02:01Because you're going to bring in some more people.
02:03I have four listeners now.
02:05Maybe I'll get eight with you.
02:06Yay.
02:06Amazing.
02:07So, okay.
02:08So, Jared lent me this jacket.
02:11And I was really hot.
02:12So, I decided to take it off.
02:14And Hayley was so nice.
02:15And she said, why don't you put it on the stage?
02:17She's like, it'll be safe there.
02:19Well, it's because there was a DJ booth.
02:21Yes.
02:22And a little, it was like a little section that had chairs and couches on it.
02:27And I thought it would just be safe.
02:28There was really nowhere else to put it if you think about it.
02:30Right.
02:30No, there was no.
02:31And you were so nice.
02:32You were like, all my stuff is there too.
02:33Just put it there.
02:34Yeah.
02:34I was like, great.
02:35Okay.
02:36So, suddenly the music starts.
02:38I'm loving it.
02:39I'm like, woo!
02:40All of a sudden, Justin is jumping with all of his, the people he made the album with on the stage.
02:45He's loving it with the DJ booth.
02:47He's like, woo!
02:48Woo!
02:48And all of a sudden, I am watching my very expensive Lent coat kind of fall off the chair
02:54and into the center of Justin and all of his collaborators' feet.
03:02So, now they're stomping on the jacket.
03:05And that's not even his, by the way.
03:06By the way, that's not mine.
03:07So, I'm like, fuck.
03:09And I'm looking at Haley and Haley's having the best night.
03:11And I'm like, I can't go up to you and say, you have to go get this jacket.
03:13I was like, I can't do it because you were loving the music dancing.
03:16And I was like, I have to do this alone.
03:17This is my mission.
03:18So, now I'm on stage with Justin and all of his collaborators pretending to have been there when I made it.
03:26Owen's like, woo!
03:29I'm singing Daisies.
03:30I'm literally like, I wrote this one.
03:32You're like, remember when we were in the studio?
03:34They're like, who are you?
03:35Come to the studio, baby.
03:37Woo!
03:37I literally do that.
03:39And I'm trying to get the jacket.
03:40Finally, I get it.
03:41Actually, it's cool.
03:42The jacket's cooler because it has some…
03:44It's a little distressed now.
03:45Well, let's just stress, I ended up buying the jacket.
03:48Okay.
03:49But let me tell you something.
03:51They gave me a discount.
03:52And I own the jacket now and it's the coolest jacket I could ever own.
03:55And it has a cool story behind it.
03:56And it has a really cool story.
03:57It has some foot marks on it.
03:59We could get those off.
04:01Yeah.
04:01We could fix it.
04:02Yeah.
04:02Okay.
04:03So, Haley and I became friends.
04:05I'm like looking into the camera as if this is a talk show.
04:07Haley and I became friends like a few years ago.
04:09Mm-hmm.
04:10She was instantly warm.
04:12She like, you invited me to your house the first time I ever met you.
04:15You were like, come over.
04:16You were literally like, come to the studio, baby.
04:18Yeah.
04:18Wait, when did we meet?
04:20What was our first time together?
04:22We were talking about this the other day because I was like, how did we meet?
04:25Is this air on you too much?
04:27It looks gory.
04:27You look windswept.
04:28Is it giving like Victoria's Secret?
04:30It's fully giving Victoria's Secret.
04:31It looks amazing.
04:32Is it distracting?
04:33No, it's gory.
04:34I'm just like, oh my God.
04:36I'm at the VS Fashion Show.
04:39It feels divine.
04:40Okay, great.
04:40Okay, keep going.
04:41When did we meet?
04:42I honestly don't remember.
04:43Did we meet at Coachella?
04:44We did.
04:45Yeah.
04:46With Emma.
04:47Yeah.
04:47And Justine.
04:48And Justine.
04:49We met at Coachella.
04:50Billie Eilish's party.
04:52I just remember meeting you and we were like, loving you, loving you, loving you.
04:56And that was it.
04:57And then we've been friends ever since.
04:59So Haley and I, for some reason, Haley and I came up with this thing that was like, loving you.
05:04I think I said it to you.
05:05I was like, loving you.
05:06And I was like, loving you.
05:07And then I was like, that's kind of our thing.
05:08And it just stuck.
05:09It became our thing.
05:10And then all of a sudden, watching the Met interviews with Emma from my bed, and Haley
05:16walks up to Emma and they both say, loving you.
05:19I'm like, I made it to the Met.
05:21I fully made it to the Met.
05:23I was so thrilled.
05:24Okay.
05:25That was the first time we met.
05:26Yes.
05:26And then we've been friends ever since.
05:27Yes.
05:27And then you had your sweet baby.
05:30And then I had my sweet baby.
05:32And.
05:32And we're still friends.
05:34And we're still friends.
05:35So that's our story.
05:36And who knew I could be friends with a mother.
05:38How is it to be a mom?
05:39It's so fun.
05:40I love being a mom.
05:41You do?
05:42Mm-hmm.
05:42I've always knew I wanted to be a mom, though.
05:44You woke up a mother.
05:44Since I was like a little kid.
05:45Yeah.
05:46I was like, I just always envisioned myself having kids.
05:50I get it.
05:51Yeah.
05:51I don't think I want kids.
05:53No, I do want kids.
05:55But you know what's funny is like the older I've gotten.
05:57And now that I have a kid, I also, like, I think any decision anyone makes about having
06:02them or not having them is totally.
06:04Totally.
06:05Do you want more?
06:06I think so.
06:07Oh, my God.
06:09You're going to have like five fevers while running around.
06:12Just a little like.
06:13That's so cute.
06:14I definitely do.
06:15Because I know I want more than one.
06:17But I'm not in a rush.
06:18I'm an only child.
06:20And do you wish you had siblings?
06:21Of course.
06:21Every day.
06:21This turns into me interviewing you.
06:23Yeah.
06:24Any more questions?
06:25So what are your biggest fears?
06:27Yeah.
06:27So thank you for asking.
06:28So it's been really tough.
06:30I'm not joking.
06:31Yeah.
06:31I always wanted.
06:32Yeah, of course.
06:33It was really hard being an only child.
06:35I mean, it was amazing because.
06:36Justin was an only child too.
06:37So all the conversations we've ever had about that is that we want our son to have.
06:42Siblings.
06:43Yeah.
06:44I think it's really fun because your parents just spoil you with every bit of them.
06:48Yeah.
06:48But it's not fun because you don't have a little confidant and a little like buddy.
06:52Yeah.
06:52To like, you know.
06:54Yeah.
06:54Okay.
06:54Let's move on.
06:55So you were a Nepo baby.
06:57You are a Nepo baby.
06:58Yeah.
06:59Full blown one.
06:59Full blown.
07:00So isn't it crazy that you now have a Nepo baby?
07:04The whole Nepo conversation is really just a conversation about privilege.
07:07And I think having that dialogue with your kid is important.
07:11And I think, I think talking about it is important.
07:15And I think awareness is important.
07:18So I think it's just a conversation of awareness and understanding.
07:20Did you know you were going to be famous?
07:22No.
07:23You're so good at being famous.
07:25I know that's a crazy thing to say.
07:26Thanks.
07:27I feel really bad at it all the time.
07:29Like.
07:29You're so good at it.
07:30Like that, that, that was a PR.
07:32That was perfect.
07:33It's very crazy.
07:34Okay.
07:34So what are you wearing road?
07:36Please.
07:37Sorry.
07:37I'm so sorry.
07:38Um, so Haley, let's talk about the beginning of this.
07:42When you decided to make, when did you decide to make road?
07:462020.
07:47When the pandemic hit, I knew for a really long time, I wanted to start my own brand.
07:52And I was clear that I wanted it to be specifically in skincare and beauty.
07:56And that makes sense.
07:58You're like, I own a mirror.
07:59I should probably now look at my skin.
08:01It was mostly about how much of a skincare fanatic and fan I actually have been for my
08:07whole life.
08:08Totally.
08:09And I tell this story a lot to my mom and my grandma, both skincare and like beauty obsessed.
08:15And I feel like they really instilled that in me.
08:17So I just came from like a household and a culture of skin.
08:21Skin.
08:21Yeah.
08:21And obsessive about like.
08:22You all have skin.
08:23Moisturizing and hydration.
08:25Really?
08:25Since a young age?
08:26Since a super young age.
08:27My mom's from Brazil.
08:28And I also feel like.
08:30That's why you look like that.
08:31Cause you've been moisturizing since like two.
08:32Since like birth.
08:33Literally.
08:34I can't think of a time I ever like got out of the bath and my mom wasn't like slathering
08:38me head to toe.
08:39And that's, that's how I am now as a mom too.
08:40I'm like, you will go to bed like a glazed donut.
08:44There is no.
08:45I am so mad at my mom.
08:47My mom really fucked up.
08:49It's okay.
08:50Because now you can be a glazed donut.
08:52Oh, I am every day.
08:53Exactly.
08:53I literally like, I'm slugging because of you.
08:56Slugging.
08:56Slathered.
08:57Slathered.
08:58Glazed donut.
08:58Slather and lather.
08:59Doesn't matter.
09:00Okay.
09:00So you became, okay.
09:01So in 2020, I was like, all right, I have the time now.
09:05The pandemic hit.
09:06I don't know how much time we're going to be spending inside.
09:08This isn't really my moment to kind of sit and write down every idea that I have, how
09:14I want it to be, what I want to do.
09:15I knew I wanted to call it road.
09:17It's my middle name.
09:18Of course.
09:18It's my mom's middle name.
09:20It's a family name.
09:21So I was certain on that.
09:23And that was when I called my partners, Lauren and Michael.
09:30Geniuses.
09:30Who we love.
09:31We're upset.
09:32They're the best people in the world.
09:33And at the time I had known Ratty for years.
09:37Like we were friends already for years and he wasn't even married to Lauren yet.
09:41Now they're like married baby on the way, but they were just dating.
09:45And in my gut, for whatever reason, I was like, they're the ones that I think can help
09:50me like bring this to life.
09:52He had launched his production company and his business.
09:56So I was like, hey, I know you don't work in beauty or skincare, but you know, will you
10:01guys, this is my idea.
10:03This is what I want to do.
10:04Do you want to help me bring this to life?
10:06What's crazy is that in five years, less than that, really.
10:10Yeah.
10:11I mean, we launched in 2022, but we started in 2020.
10:14In three years, you've made this?
10:18No, that's not normal.
10:19No, in five years we made it because we started in 2020.
10:22But Haley, that's your billion dollar company.
10:24Like, what is the behind the scenes?
10:25Like, are you working every day?
10:26Do you go into an office?
10:28I don't go into the office every day.
10:29I also feel like the pandemic made it so that you don't really work from anywhere in a lot
10:34of ways.
10:35But what I do like going into the office for is to sit with the team and look at things
10:40in real life and discuss it in real life.
10:42Because I don't think that you can really do it over the phone.
10:45Yeah, you can't make decisions the same way when you're not, you know, interfacing with
10:49people.
10:49So I love going into the office.
10:51I really do.
10:51And it's really close to my house.
10:52It's so easy for me.
10:53But unlike this, which it took her an hour and a half to get here.
10:57She's she was like, I would do it for you any day.
10:59You know that I love her.
11:00But I'm always talking about something to do with the company every single day.
11:04Like I'm on text chains.
11:06I'm on calls every single day.
11:08Just as a dummy, because I don't really know what it is.
11:11What is the Sephora thing?
11:13So obviously, I mean, it's now in Sephora.
11:16Yeah.
11:17But explain the elf.
11:19Explain all of it.
11:20So Sephora is my retail partner.
11:22I launched Rode only online.
11:25So we were a direct consumer company only.
11:28And I know this because I bought it.
11:30Um, and then we chose to go with Sephora as our brick and mortar, if you will.
11:36We've done our own IRL pop ups, but we don't have any retail store.
11:41Will you ever?
11:42Maybe.
11:42You know, I am totally open to the idea of having one flagship somewhere for Rode.
11:47But I much prefer doing the pop up experiences because I think it's more fun to go to something
11:54that isn't going to be there all the time.
11:56And then every time you do it, you get to change the concept.
11:58I feel like you're a little bit more stuck when you do a store where it has to kind of
12:01be one thing.
12:03And then you don't get to switch it up.
12:03Oh, so if you're launching new things, like if you're launching a blush, the pop up can
12:07be about the blush.
12:07Yeah, it's a lot more exciting, I think.
12:09Totally.
12:09And it's more fun.
12:10But with Sephora, yeah, they're our retail partner.
12:13And we launched with them in September.
12:16It's only a month ago.
12:18And it's been amazing.
12:20They're such an amazing team.
12:21And they're so, they're the best of the best.
12:23There isn't anybody I could have wished for to be a better partner.
12:28And their team is so amazing and efficient and cares about what I want to do with the
12:36brand and how I want it to show up in Sephora.
12:38So I'm super happy.
12:39Isn't it crazy to walk into a Sephora and see your face everywhere?
12:42It's definitely surreal.
12:43Because as a kid, Sephora was the place that I always went to buy my makeup and skincare
12:48and things.
12:48So I think it continues to be like a pinch me thing.
12:53It's so crazy.
12:54I was walking through the mall the other day.
12:56Humble brag, I went to a mall.
12:58I was going to say, what were you at the mall for?
13:00I love the mall.
13:01Do you not like the mall?
13:02No, I love the mall.
13:02I just, I don't go very often.
13:04Have you ever worn a wig in public?
13:06No.
13:07Like, I've never tried to go out in a disguise.
13:09I don't think it would work.
13:11It's not that I don't think I can go to the mall.
13:13What I was trying to say about the mall is I'll go anytime.
13:16We just have to plan it.
13:18Totally.
13:18How about that?
13:19Wait, let's plan it.
13:20That's what I meant to say.
13:21Yes.
13:21Let's plan it.
13:22Let's plan it.
13:23It just takes planning.
13:24But also, I think it makes sense that you can't just pop into the Beverly Center.
13:28I think that makes sense to me as an outsider.
13:31And I think we would all agree.
13:32Given the fact that when I pulled up here today, Owen watched a drone fly over his house.
13:37You know.
13:37You guys, what is that?
13:39I don't know.
13:40Okay.
13:40Well, let's talk about this famous story.
13:42Speaking of.
13:43This is the best story.
13:44Speaking of drones and paparazzi.
13:46So, Haley and I were talking.
13:48We were.
13:48We were.
13:49We were on the phone.
13:50On the phone.
13:50And I was driving.
13:51And Owen was on speaker in my car.
13:53All of a sudden.
13:54We're just having the best conversation.
13:55Wait, but let me give context.
13:56Please.
13:56Let me give context.
13:57Because I'm driving.
13:58I'm on the phone.
13:59Two hands on the wheel.
14:00On speakerphone.
14:02And this paparazzi gets in front of my car and is driving in front of me.
14:06And then snapping photos like out the window and like in the rear view mirror of his car.
14:12And the only time I get really, really mad and really pissed off is when I feel like you're being dangerous.
14:17And you're putting my life at risk.
14:19And you're putting me in danger.
14:20So, I got so.
14:22Was Jack in the car?
14:22Jack wasn't in the car.
14:23I was by myself, thankfully, I would have been way more upset if Jack was in the car.
14:28But I just am like, what is the purpose of getting in front of me and then taking photos while you're driving a car and I'm driving a car?
14:33I can't stand that shit.
14:34Well, it's also like, what are you getting?
14:36I'm driving.
14:37And you're driving.
14:38So, how are you even doing anything?
14:40But also, you're just driving.
14:41Like, what do they think you're doing?
14:43I'm just on the phone with Owen.
14:44Coming up with a road product in the car?
14:46Yeah, like showing the samples?
14:47Yeah, exactly.
14:47You're like, ooh, this is good.
14:50Yeah, like, no.
14:50You're not getting anything.
14:51So, a paparazzi was being dangerous and all of a sudden, I hear Haley go, hi, Owen, just wait one second.
14:59And she goes, what the fuck do you think you're doing?
15:01You're being so dangerous.
15:03You're putting my life at risk.
15:04You're putting your life at risk.
15:06Like, she's like.
15:07I went off.
15:08She went off.
15:09I waved him over to pull over and I was like, hold on one second, Owen.
15:13Don't you ever fucking do some shit like that again.
15:16Do you understand?
15:17Like, I went, like, I went, I saw red.
15:20I was so upset.
15:20And then she gets back.
15:22And I'm like, hey, sorry.
15:24Literally, she goes, hi.
15:26Sorry.
15:26So, wait, where were we?
15:27I go, no, we're not anywhere now, love.
15:30Because I have chills.
15:31I go, I have chills.
15:33To be in the room where it happens.
15:35Owen goes, oh, my God.
15:37I literally have full body chills.
15:39I feel like I was just in 2000.
15:42Literally, literally, I was in the 2000s.
15:44Also, it was like, you see those moments on TikTok.
15:48Do you know what I mean?
15:49Right.
15:49But to be in the room where it happens?
15:52I was in the car where it happens, ultimately.
15:54I loved it.
15:55I felt famous.
15:57I just don't want to be fucked with like that.
15:59I think there's boundaries to be had.
16:02And I just.
16:02Obviously.
16:03I was not having it that day.
16:05I mean, I cannot believe there was a drone outside of my little a** cup where I live.
16:09My little apartment.
16:10That's insane.
16:11I mean, it's great for me.
16:13I'll be on People Mag.
16:13I'm also like, what do you think I'm doing?
16:16What do you think you're catching?
16:18I'm visiting a lover.
16:19Wait, literally, I'm dead.
16:21Or you're like jumping on an album.
16:23Maybe you're featuring on the album.
16:25I'm recording.
16:26Would you ever record?
16:26No.
16:27You would never?
16:28Like to be silly and for fun.
16:30Have you ever?
16:30No.
16:31But would you?
16:31Like if Justin was like, hop on this song.
16:33No.
16:34Shit.
16:34If he was like, we're in the studio and let me just record you to be silly because we're
16:39being funny and we're making a song for ourselves.
16:41I would do it.
16:42That would be sweet.
16:43He's never asked me to do that, love.
16:44Okay.
16:47Like, hey, we can do tons of hypotheticals.
16:49It hasn't happened.
16:50Yeah.
16:50We can do hypotheticals.
16:51He hasn't asked.
16:52I'm done.
16:53I'm done.
16:54Okay.
16:55Just on the theme of paparazzi, this crazy world.
16:57What is the craziest headline you've ever read about yourself?
17:01Oh my gosh.
17:02There's so many.
17:03I think there was one that I thought was funny because it was so stupid and so ridiculous.
17:07This is the one that comes to the top of my mind a couple of months ago.
17:10It was like, Haley is doing management for her husband.
17:14Like I'm taking over to be his manager.
17:15I was like, what?
17:16Like there's no world in which that would ever.
17:20You have a full business to run of your own.
17:23But also that's my husband.
17:25Well, a hundred percent.
17:26But also.
17:26What do we think is going on here?
17:28One, that's your husband.
17:29Two, you have a full career in life.
17:32And so does he.
17:33Right.
17:33Exactly.
17:33I'm like, no.
17:35I thought that one was really funny because it was so ridiculous and far-fetched.
17:39That's hilarious.
17:39I mean, so many times I've read that I'm pregnant when I'm not.
17:43And I mean, I read I was pregnant probably a hundred times before it was actually true.
17:47And then finally you're pregnant and no one reports on it.
17:49And you're like, you guys.
17:49Because I hid it for six months.
17:51Right.
17:51Because I was like, I don't want anyone to actually know until I'm ready.
17:54How was that hiding that?
17:56It was a little stressful because I didn't want to be caught before I was ready to say it.
18:02Totally.
18:02But I think I did a pretty good job.
18:03You did a great job.
18:04Up until right before I announced it, I felt like people like slowly were starting to catch
18:09on because I couldn't hide my belly anymore.
18:11But I still got to announce it myself and have that moment.
18:14So I was grateful for that.
18:14I forget how you announced it.
18:16We did like a really sweet video.
18:18The video that shook the internet.
18:19The video.
18:20The video.
18:21The video of Jackie in my belly.
18:23Can you imagine?
18:23I was in the background of that?
18:24Imagine.
18:25Owen was behind a tree.
18:26Yeah, of course.
18:26I was in that.
18:28I would love that.
18:29That'd be iconic.
18:29Maybe the next time.
18:30Uh, Haley and I, the first thing we like did together publicly was your, your show.
18:36Remember?
18:37Oh yeah.
18:37For Halloween.
18:38She's like, I'm being a vampire if you want to join.
18:42And I was like, oh my God, I'll be a vampire too.
18:43Right.
18:44Do you remember what happened?
18:45I got these teeth that, let's put a little clip in here.
18:49I got these teeth that didn't fit.
18:51And I spoke, I just, the entire episode.
18:54I had like these really like nice, like stick on fangs that just went on the teeth.
18:59And I literally had like, it was literally mean girls.
19:01Like I had like the mean girls, like, like gums, like, and I was like, literally she would
19:05ask me a question.
19:06I'd be like, we were like making smooth milkshakes and like trying to eat them.
19:13And he's like, she was like falling out of his literally Haley was like, I love yours.
19:18Yours is chunkier.
19:19And I was like, I can't try it because it's getting shamed.
19:22Oreo milkshake.
19:24I remember it.
19:25Yep.
19:25I remember it well.
19:26Okay.
19:27Go back.
19:28Let's go back.
19:28Let's go back.
19:29Let's go back to the road.
19:30Just because I have questions because I have all this.
19:33This is my life.
19:34Ultimately just collecting.
19:36I really, what is this?
19:38Oh yeah.
19:38The glazing milk.
19:39Obviously.
19:39Which by the way, just won an award.
19:41Today?
19:41Yes.
19:41It just won an award.
19:42Oh.
19:45You guys won another award.
19:47The OE award.
19:47That's exciting.
19:48And then we won another award, which is the OE award.
19:52So what's next for road?
19:55I think our focus right now is, you know, the Sephora launch and expanding into different
20:01territories with the, with the retail.
20:04But I feel like my vision for the brand continues to be really strong.
20:08Like I know where I want it to go.
20:10I know how I want it to evolve.
20:12I think what's fun and exciting for me is that when I launched the brand, I was 24 turning
20:1725 and now I'm 28 turning 29.
20:22And I feel like the brand is continuing to evolve with me and where I'm at in my age.
20:27And I want it to continue doing that.
20:30Totally.
20:31But I also feel like the products that we launched with are still the product, like everything
20:35we started with is still all of the things that are my favorites and that I go back to.
20:39But I feel like the way we're doing our storytelling and the products that we're bringing
20:43to life, even like our, our eye patches, the wearable things.
20:46Like I think it's really exciting the direction that we continue to go in, in the way that
20:52we're expanding it.
20:53And, you know, we're going to continue to expand upon the categories that we already have.
20:58Like the way that we've done our blushes, like we'll expand a little bit in color and
21:02we'll expand always the most in skincare because at the core, it's a skincare brand and I don't
21:07ever want that to change.
21:09But yeah, I'm excited.
21:10So skincare wise.
21:12Yeah.
21:13Just tell me, you don't have to tell and pretend like we're not doing a podcast.
21:16Okay.
21:17What, what do you do?
21:19So.
21:19No, but like be real.
21:21Why would I lie?
21:22Like I tell you everything.
21:24Haley is, I will say this.
21:26Haley is.
21:26So honest.
21:27The most honest person.
21:29Honest to a, to a fault.
21:31You are so honest and that's it.
21:34Keep going.
21:34I'm just really diligent with my skincare, but there are treatments that I really do like.
21:38So like I love PRP, which is when they take your blood from your arm and they spin it.
21:44Yeah.
21:44So I love doing PRP with microneedling.
21:46I've talked about that a lot.
21:48I've done PRF, which is they take your blood, but they, it's called easy gel.
21:54And basically they heat it and then they cool it.
21:57And it kind of like makes your blood like a gel consistency.
22:00And then they put it on your face.
22:01And then you inject it.
22:03So I've done that, which I loved.
22:05Inject like all over.
22:06Yeah.
22:06Like I've injected my smile lines.
22:08I've injected it under my eyes.
22:09With your blood.
22:10But it's your own blood.
22:11And that's the thing is I like to do things that I can trust is from your own body.
22:16Totally.
22:17And I'm just consistent with things like that.
22:19Like I do that a couple of times a year.
22:22I've done like light little lasers before.
22:26So that's it.
22:26I don't have any Botox except for in my jaw for TMJ, but I have no Botox in my face.
22:31I made a commitment to myself that I wasn't going to do any Botox until I was in my thirties.
22:36When I get there, I'll see if I even want to do it.
22:38But like my mom has no Botox.
22:40My mom does nothing to her skin and she looks like insane.
22:43I did Botox at 18.
22:45What?
22:46Why?
22:47I turned 18 and I go, fuck it.
22:50Happy birthday.
22:51And I got Botox.
22:52But because you thought you had wrinkles or?
22:55And so let me tell you.
22:56So I had no wrinkles and then, and it started to actually pull my face in such a way.
23:02Dude, 18 is like insane to get Botox.
23:06My mom was like, what the hell?
23:08Oh my gosh.
23:09I look like Jigsaw.
23:10So then did you stop for a second?
23:11No, now I've never done it again, but the shape of my face changed, to be honest.
23:16Yeah.
23:16Anyways.
23:16Yeah.
23:17So you go home and actually wash your face.
23:19You're diligent to buy your skin.
23:20I am insanely diligent.
23:22I could be wasted to the point of like seeing double and still will.
23:27No, after that Coachella night that we were drinking and having fun,
23:30you didn't go home and wash your face.
23:31I passed out.
23:32I passed out in the car.
23:33I would never pass out with makeup on, no matter how drunk I was.
23:36I've been in a hotel room.
23:38You've been in a hotel?
23:39For reasons, because I was like sleeping over there and like didn't have my things.
23:43Totally.
23:43And like gone into the bathroom and like as much as I could get things off with like warm water and like anything that I could.
23:50Like I am psyched.
23:51Would you use a bar of soap?
23:52No, not on my face.
23:54Okay.
23:54What's one thing you would take to a desert island?
23:57I would take our glazing milk.
23:59Oh, of my own, of anything or my own products?
24:01No, of anything.
24:02But maybe you would take your glazing milk.
24:04Were you talking about skincare or like necessities for life?
24:06Well, I more meant necessities for life.
24:09It was kind of a weird segue to just kind of throw that at you.
24:14I'm thinking we're talking about.
24:15No, you're in the Victoria's Secret fashion show.
24:16I'm so excited for you to watch this clip and be like, we should have moved to the thing.
24:21No, it's gorgeous.
24:22No, it's fine.
24:22It's Beyonce.
24:24My hair went down my throat, but it's fine.
24:25No, of course.
24:26I thought we were talking about skincare because we were talking about washing our face.
24:28So if I was going to take one of my products to a desert island, it would be the glazing milk.
24:34Honestly, same.
24:35Right?
24:35Well, you can use it for so many things.
24:37Exactly.
24:37It's very multi-purpose.
24:38Put it on your body.
24:39Put it on your face.
24:40Put it on your body.
24:41Yeah.
24:42Oh, my God.
24:42Put it on your body.
24:43I put it like here all the time.
24:45And when I'm getting ready for like red carpets and stuff, I put it on my arms.
24:48We're actually working on something that's like a new iteration in that world.
24:53You know what my favorite thing is that you've ever made?
24:56The spray.
24:57Oh, the spray.
24:58It's the best.
24:59It's the best.
24:59It's my favorite.
24:59No, it's the best.
25:01I was saying to somebody, I think yesterday, that I didn't have it in my bathroom the other
25:05day because I put it in my purse because I take it with me everywhere.
25:07And I was like, damn, like, I really miss it when I don't have it.
25:11It's amazing.
25:12And that's how I know we've made something that's really good.
25:15Because when I start to miss something in my skincare routine, but that was my whole point
25:18of road was making all my favorite versions of my stuff.
25:23Of course.
25:23Okay, so now play the game.
25:24What's one thing you would take in your life to a desert island?
25:27That's not people.
25:29Why?
25:29You would take me?
25:31I probably would love to have my son and my husband with me.
25:35But what would I take?
25:38A tarp?
25:39I don't know.
25:41A tarp?
25:43No, you're going to want to cut that.
25:45Actually, leave it in.
25:46It's insane.
25:47I've never heard something like it.
25:49I'm such a practical thinker.
25:50It's like sickening.
25:51A tarp.
25:52I think with the mind.
25:54I don't think with anything else.
25:55Totally.
25:56A tarp.
25:56I'm obsessed with that.
25:57I'm just going to text you later.
25:59Tarp.
26:00What would you bring?
26:02I'm obsessed.
26:02What kind of desert island is this?
26:04You think there's hurricanes?
26:05Are we talking about Cast Away?
26:07Like, what the fuck?
26:07What movie have you not seen where they're deserted and they like-
26:10I meant like Survivor.
26:12I guess it's the same thing.
26:13It's the same thing.
26:14I guess you would need a tarp.
26:15If I was going to be trapped in the Maldives when there's like a six-star resort,
26:19like I won't need a tarp.
26:21But-
26:21Well, let's play that game.
26:22Okay.
26:24You and I are stranded in the Maldives.
26:27Great.
26:27Nobody else there.
26:28And we're just stranded at a hotel.
26:30Great.
26:31What are we bringing?
26:32Oh my God.
26:34Well, then we have-
26:35The glazing milk.
26:35The glazing milk.
26:36God, can't live without it.
26:37I don't know what I would bring.
26:38I actually, on a desert island, I hate that game.
26:40I don't know what I would bring.
26:41Because that's what I'm saying.
26:42Think about it this way.
26:43A desert island where you have no food, no shelter, no water.
26:48You washed up on the beach.
26:50I would bring-
26:51Is it a tarp?
26:52I'm obsessed with a tarp.
26:54I would bring a boat.
26:55A rowboat.
26:56So I could-
26:57How are you carrying a boat?
26:58Or you're saying like you arrived there on a boat.
27:01So if you arrive there on a boat, you have your boat and then you have one thing that
27:03you could like carry in your arms.
27:05Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
27:06Like a canteen?
27:07I love how serious Haley's getting about this.
27:09No, I'm serious.
27:10Think about it.
27:11We arrive in a dinghy.
27:13Okay.
27:14We're each holding one item.
27:15So you brought the tarp.
27:16I got the tarp and you brought-
27:18By the way, thank you for getting the tarp because that's going to come in handy.
27:21And then you're going to thank me when it's raining and we're not getting wet.
27:23Okay.
27:24I brought a fishing rod.
27:28Great.
27:29That's really practical.
27:31So now we're dry.
27:33And we have food.
27:33And we have food.
27:35We can survive forever.
27:37What about music?
27:38I was going to say like a lighter.
27:39Totally.
27:41I don't think I've watched shows with-
27:43You never watched Cast Away?
27:44We're in the White Lotus.
27:45Right.
27:46Do you know what I mean?
27:46That's your version of being stranded.
27:48100%.
27:48So I'm like, what do we need?
27:50I'm like, we need a Bose speaker.
27:51We need to start a fire.
27:54And you're like, we need a Bose speaker.
27:55I'm dead.
27:56I'm dead.
27:56I'm actually dead.
27:57But we do.
27:58We do also need that.
27:59We'd have to sing to each other.
28:01It'll be beautiful.
28:02Yeah.
28:02We go crazy.
28:03I feel like you're secretly can sing.
28:05I don't have a bad voice, but I would never sit here and be like, yeah, like I can sing.
28:09Kylie just put out a song.
28:10And it's so major to me.
28:12It's so iconic.
28:13The reason I think it's the coolest thing ever and it's so iconic is because I love anyone
28:19who puts themselves out there and does something because they just want to try it.
28:23Totally.
28:24And what she said about it, like, I never want to look back and wish I had done something
28:28or tried something.
28:29I'm like, that is so bad bitch to me.
28:33It's so badass.
28:33It's so cool.
28:34She was like, fuck it.
28:35I want to go in the studio and I want to make a song because I just want to and like live
28:38out my pop star fantasy.
28:40Yes.
28:40But it's also this, not that it was cringe at all.
28:43I actually love it.
28:44I think it's so cool.
28:45But I think cringe is back.
28:48Like, I think like doing things.
28:49Putting yourself out there.
28:50Doing things for the bit.
28:51At the risk of being cringe or being misunderstood or any of it, put yourself out there because
28:57you don't know unless you try.
28:59100%.
28:59100%.
29:00Which is why I'm taking up ballet.
29:03Are you being dead ass?
29:03No.
29:04Oh, but, but.
29:05Because I was like, I'll come with you.
29:07Would you?
29:07Yeah.
29:08Because I used to be a ballet dancer.
29:09You're so uncomfortable.
29:09You're like really getting like you're doing a dance.
29:12What are you doing?
29:12I'm just pulling my jeans down because they were coming up to here.
29:14Such a cute outfit.
29:16My Brazil shirt.
29:17Okay.
29:17I have some questions.
29:18Okay.
29:18Go for it.
29:19So mother, your mother.
29:23Okay.
29:23Go off.
29:24What would you say?
29:25Like, what do you pride yourself on?
29:27Like, what would you say your best quality is as a mom?
29:29I feel like I have always been a really nurturing person.
29:33Yeah.
29:34So I feel like something that comes very naturally to me is being nurturing.
29:38Totally.
29:39100%.
29:39I think you also, you're so supportive.
29:43You are like deeply supportive.
29:46I mean, Haley being here is really nice, but like also like every time I've ever asked for
29:50anything or asked questions about anything, you're just like, you're there for me in a
29:55second.
29:55And I feel like that is also translated, obviously, to being a mom.
29:59Does it ever feel daunting to be a young mom?
30:03Like such a young mom?
30:04I think it did feel daunting.
30:07And then once he was here, it didn't feel as daunting.
30:12Yeah.
30:13I think when you, your life is about to change in a way which you've never experienced before
30:17and you don't know what to expect and you don't know what's coming.
30:20Totally.
30:20So many people before I had a baby told me, you can never be ready for it.
30:25You can never fully prepare yourself for it.
30:27And I think that's very true because you just don't know what it's like until you're in
30:31it.
30:31Totally.
30:32So I do think it felt a little bit daunting.
30:33I think there was fears around it.
30:35I think, you know, I didn't know what to expect.
30:37Yeah.
30:37But once they're here, you do, you just figure it out day by day.
30:41And it's like every single day I'm learning something new about how to be a mom and what's
30:46best for my son and what's best for me as a mom.
30:49And, you know.
30:51I think everybody sees you as this gorgeous woman with such a career.
30:57And I think they're like, oh, she has 150 nannies and she doesn't ever see her baby.
31:02And I think just knowing you, that is so the opposite of who you are.
31:06I'm someone who I always wanted to be a mom.
31:08So I'm super, super, super hands-on with my son.
31:13I do have help.
31:13I have full-time help.
31:15And I'm super not ashamed to say that.
31:17And I would never shy away from talking about that because I wouldn't be able to have my
31:22career and do the things that I do without the help.
31:24And I feel really grateful for that.
31:25But even with that, I am super, super like constantly.
31:30We just took a break so Haley could ultimately text about Jack.
31:33Yeah, exactly.
31:33And it's like, if he's not with me, he's with his dad.
31:36He's always with like his family.
31:38He's always with somebody that, you know, he's always with one of us or with somebody,
31:43his godparents or someone that like.
31:45Do you want, maybe this is too personal.
31:47You might not want to answer this, but do you want Jack to grow up in LA?
31:51I think I want him to grow up in multiple places.
31:53I think we're such travelers as a family and we were that way before we had him.
31:58So I think I just want him to grow up traveling, which is honestly how I grew up.
32:02And I love that.
32:04I think that makes you a really cultured person.
32:07Yeah.
32:07I think you learned so much.
32:08I didn't go anywhere.
32:08I only stayed here.
32:10But now you're going everywhere.
32:12So.
32:12But now I'm going everywhere.
32:13I'm making up for it.
32:13But no, but I think the people that went, that had the privilege to go everywhere.
32:18Yeah.
32:18They're really wise.
32:20They're really like.
32:21Well, my dad was an actor.
32:23Yeah.
32:24And when he would be filming, he'd be filming in so many different places around the world.
32:30So we always like for the most part, always went with him.
32:33What was your favorite place as a kid to go to?
32:35My favorite place as a kid to go to.
32:38Like I remember going when he filmed something in Brazil and I remember going there, which was cool because my mom is from there.
32:44That's amazing.
32:45That wasn't obvious.
32:46Yeah.
32:47I want that shirt.
32:48It's so cute.
32:48It's really cute.
32:49But I also remember like a trip we did as a family where we drove across Canada in an RV, which is one of my most memorable trips as a kid.
32:59I would.
32:59Yeah.
33:00Justin and I have done it a couple of times.
33:02What?
33:02He has like a tour bus that is ours that we own.
33:06And so we've, during COVID and stuff, we were like road tripping.
33:09Just you guys?
33:10Yeah.
33:10That's so cute.
33:12That's so cute.
33:13Where'd you go?
33:14We went all through California.
33:16We drove to Idaho.
33:18We drove to Wyoming.
33:21Like we drove to a bunch of different places.
33:22That's so cute.
33:23Yeah.
33:23It was really fun.
33:24I want to come.
33:24Come next time.
33:25Can I?
33:26Me, you, Justin, and Jack.
33:27And Jared.
33:29No, Jared doesn't need to come.
33:32Jared, I talk about this in every episode.
33:35And I was just telling you this.
33:37I have a feeling Jared's going to propose soon.
33:39Right.
33:40What?
33:40Does Jared know this?
33:43No.
33:43No, yeah.
33:44What do you want, love?
33:45You want this?
33:46Okay.
33:46So I, the other day.
33:48Oh my God.
33:49We have to talk about something that's absolutely hilarious.
33:51And I don't know if you want to bring it up.
33:52It's so funny.
33:53Just do it.
33:54And then if we have to cut it.
33:54At your Chase Sapphire event.
33:57Yeah.
33:57First of all, I have to go wherever Haley goes.
33:59So when she invites me somewhere, I go, I'm there.
34:01I go, I'm there.
34:02I'll be there.
34:02So.
34:03Which I love because we have the best time.
34:05No, it's the best.
34:06So I get to this Chase Sapphire event.
34:08I was sitting across from you and the best food was coming out.
34:11I was diving in.
34:12Loving it, loving it, getting drunk, having the best time.
34:14And then Haley left.
34:16Do you remember this?
34:17And I spilled wine all over this girl.
34:19Horrible.
34:20No, no, no.
34:20So embarrassing.
34:22I'm actually really clumsy.
34:24No, Haley, it made me like, I'm already obsessed with you, but it made me like, really
34:29like, love you because you get up, you're like, bye.
34:33You're so gracious to the team.
34:35You're like, bye, everyone.
34:36Thanks for coming.
34:37And suddenly you walk by and suddenly this huge red wine is poured into this girl's white
34:43dress.
34:44And you literally were like, and you looked at me and you looked at her.
34:48I start taking napkins.
34:49I'm like, I'm dabbing her.
34:51I'm like, I'm absolutely dead.
34:52I turned to her and I was like, it's going to, we're going to get, we're going to figure
34:55this out.
34:55Her whole shirt is stained.
34:57And like, I couldn't believe myself.
34:59It was hilarious.
35:01It was one of the best moments ever because I was like, oh, you spill stuff all the time.
35:06I know, but it's just humbling for me.
35:08I like hit my fucking elbows on the door when I'm walking.
35:11Like I'm all your Zyrtec is everywhere in your bag.
35:13My Zyrtec is spilled all over the bottom of my bag.
35:16Like I love that you're clumsy.
35:18I'm, I'm really clumsy, but you're, I think, clumsier than me.
35:22Yeah.
35:22Sometimes it depends.
35:24I think it's just, yeah, I think I must not be paying attention to my spatial awareness
35:28or something.
35:29You don't have spatial awareness?
35:30Justin and I will go to like kiss.
35:31It'll be like a romantic moment.
35:32I'll like hit his head by accident.
35:34Like I'm like dorky like that sometimes.
35:36And then what does he do?
35:37He's like, ow, that hurt?
35:39He just laughs because he's like, this is you.
35:43This is so you.
35:44I was with Jared the other night and he tried to like be really romantic.
35:48He like did this whole date night.
35:49Jared is so sweet, by the way.
35:50Like, come on.
35:52No, he's the best person alive.
35:53He's literally my, guys, what is happening?
35:58Haley, you're hard.
36:03The rumors are true.
36:05Do people say that?
36:07No.
36:07Like when people are trying to be mean, they're like, she looks trans.
36:10And I'm like, why do you think that's a diss?
36:11Wait, totally.
36:12As if being like trans is a diss or like some of the most beautiful women in the world
36:17and men in the world are trans.
36:18So I just don't take that offensively at all.
36:21But I love now you're just in here with Serena.
36:23Look, it's Serena.
36:24Now I cover myself because I'm like.
36:25It's Serena.
36:28Okay.
36:28That's an In Your Dreams exclusive.
36:30Haley Bieber just kissed Serena Carpenter.
36:32Okay.
36:32So.
36:33That's the headline.
36:34That's the headline.
36:35By the way, it would be.
36:36I'm like, can't I be in the headline for once?
36:38No.
36:39So Jared tried to do this romantic thing the other day and we went to dinner.
36:44And then after he obviously wanted to have sex.
36:47And so he like takes me into the bedroom.
36:48He like leads me into the bedroom.
36:51And then.
36:52So he had these roses on the bed.
36:55Roses on the bed.
36:56Owen.
36:56Okay.
36:57Okay.
36:58And are you dead at this?
37:00I think it's cute.
37:01It's so cute until.
37:03Okay.
37:04We were getting our clothes off.
37:06Right.
37:06Why am I talking like I'm an old woman?
37:08We were getting naked.
37:09We were about to fuck.
37:09You were getting naked because you were going to fuck.
37:11Yeah.
37:12Hey.
37:12Dab me up, bro.
37:14You're about to fuck.
37:16We were going to fuck.
37:17And the roses had thorns on them.
37:23I'm literally not kidding.
37:24And they were on the bed.
37:26So suddenly.
37:27I'm there.
37:28Oh, you didn't know.
37:29No, dude.
37:29So I'm naked now on the bed.
37:31And he's like trying to be romantic.
37:33So he splayed the roses out.
37:33And the back of my leg goes boom into rose.
37:37I'm like, ow.
37:38And then suddenly I move a shift.
37:39And now my ass on the road.
37:41Ow.
37:42I'm like, oh my God.
37:43I'm like holding my dick.
37:44I'm like, what the hell?
37:46Take those off.
37:47So then he took them off.
37:48And I'm like, Jared, I'm going to bed.
37:50Like, what was that?
37:51Good night.
37:52So I turned over and I went to bed.
37:53That is hilarious.
37:55First of all.
37:56Second of all, it makes me think of myself a little bit too,
37:58because I'm like, I'm like that.
38:00I'll try to do the most like romantic gesture.
38:02Like everything's leading up to it.
38:04Nothing's going.
38:05Everything's going perfectly planned.
38:07And then like there's thorns on the roses.
38:09And I'm like, fuck.
38:10Yeah.
38:10Nothing can ever just go off without a hitch.
38:12Of course.
38:13Of course.
38:14What's your dream date night?
38:16I really love good food.
38:18You know this about me.
38:19Of course.
38:20So I love just like a really good dinner where we're laughing
38:24and having good conversation.
38:26And at like a restaurant or would you make it?
38:28Either or.
38:29But I like going out and trying new food.
38:31That's something that is fun for me.
38:33What's your favorite?
38:34Can you give this away?
38:35My favorite restaurant in LA?
38:36What are your favorite restaurants in LA?
38:38Okay.
38:38So I have a few.
38:39Let's go by category.
38:41Done.
38:41Fuck it.
38:42Sushi.
38:43Okay.
38:44Sushi Park.
38:45Of course.
38:46Why don't you ever take me there?
38:48Sushi Fumi.
38:48Why don't you ever take me to Sushi Park?
38:50We have to.
38:50I'm confronting you.
38:51You've never asked.
38:52I really want to go with you.
38:53So we'll go.
38:54Anytime.
38:55It's delicious.
38:55You know what I see on Daily Mail?
38:57It's Haley Bieber's at Sushi Park.
38:58I go, she's in LA?
38:59Just text me and be like, bitch, I'm coming next time.
39:02I'm going to take you a picture of it next time.
39:02Yes, exactly.
39:03That's the best way to get my attention.
39:06Sushi Park.
39:07I love that you can laugh at yourself.
39:10I like laughing at myself.
39:11I know.
39:11Life is too serious to not do anything else.
39:13I know.
39:14Keep going.
39:15Sushi Park.
39:16Sushi Fumi.
39:18Matsuhisa.
39:19Here's the thing for me about sushi is that I love like traditional omakase sushi.
39:23Japanese food is like my favorite food, period.
39:26But I'm also from Rockland County, New York.
39:29And I feel like I was having this conversation with somebody the other day.
39:32Like suburb New York sushi, like Philadelphia rolls and shit.
39:37Like I love like great rolls.
39:39I don't love Philadelphia.
39:40Wait, Philadelphia roll with cream cheese in it?
39:42Okay, I don't like those personally, but I'm just saying like that kind of style sushi,
39:47like battered, fried shrimp tempura rolls.
39:50By the way, yum.
39:51The best ever.
39:52Yum, we're diving in.
39:53So I love going somewhere that also has like really good rolls and like creamy shrimp tempura
39:57and all of that.
39:58So Nobu.
39:59So like a Nobu, Matsuhisa, Sushi Fumi, Sushi Park.
40:03Those are my favorite go-to sushi spots.
40:05Okay, Italian.
40:06I love Funky in Beverly Hills.
40:09Haley got me a reservation at Funky, remember?
40:10It was Jared's birthday.
40:11I was with Haley.
40:12Jared was, Haley was like, what are you doing tonight?
40:14And I was like, I don't know.
40:17And then I was like, oh my God, wait, it's Jared's birthday.
40:19And Haley was like, what?
40:22Haley was like, where's Jared?
40:23I was like, I don't know.
40:24I haven't texted him.
40:25And then Haley's like, oh, and that's so mean.
40:27You have to do something romantic.
40:29So I turned it over to you and you made a reservation for me.
40:31And I was like, let me do, let me plan you guys something.
40:34You have to do something.
40:34At least let's go to a dinner.
40:36You planned this beautiful, funky reservation.
40:38And I think they thought you were coming in.
40:40Because they gave us a gorgeous booth in the back.
40:43No, it's just because they're really kind and accommodating.
40:46It was hilarious.
40:46I walked in, I was like, for Haley?
40:48And they're like.
40:49They're like, is she attending?
40:51They're like, no.
40:52Yeah, literally.
40:53They're like, is she coming?
40:54I'm like, no, no, no.
40:55But the food was great, no?
40:57Amazing.
40:57So good.
40:58It was also gorgeous in there.
40:59Yeah.
41:00Okay, keep going.
41:01So funky, Giorgio Baldi is.
41:04And we sit with that.
41:05A classic.
41:06And we sit with her.
41:07Anna Jack tie.
41:08Shifting.
41:08I don't know what that is.
41:09You've never been to Anna Jack?
41:10No.
41:11Ooh.
41:11So good.
41:12Really?
41:13Anna Jack ties.
41:13Where is it?
41:14Insane.
41:14In the Valley.
41:15Okay.
41:15Studio City.
41:16I'll be there tonight.
41:17Um, what else?
41:19Do you postmate a lot?
41:20Yeah, all the time.
41:21You're like in sweatbands postmating?
41:23My favorite thing to do is like be at home, be in sweats, face mask on, order food, binge
41:31watch a TV show.
41:32Are you a homebody?
41:33I used to not be a homebody.
41:36Like I loved going out, out to dinner, being out and about.
41:39I mean, I loved a club when I was like 19 or 20.
41:42But I used to just love being social.
41:44So I loved dinners, drinks, like constantly just liked filling my schedule.
41:48And I think that's because I moved into the city, into New York City when I was 17.
41:52And then it was like, my world got opened up to like, there's something to do every
41:56night and like, you're boom, boom, boom.
41:58And I was like traveling all the time.
42:00And it was like a plane, a new city.
42:02You get home, you go to dinner with your friends, you go out on a Tuesday, you go out on a Thursday.
42:05It's this club, it's this thing.
42:07So then when I got married, I was just so used to this life of constantly moving and moving
42:12around.
42:13And so I feel like I was constantly filling my schedule with just like my friends and people
42:18I love.
42:18And I just always loved being social.
42:22And then in the last like two years-ish, I felt a lot more like wanting to be a little
42:28bit more inward.
42:30And then especially when I had my son.
42:32Yeah.
42:33Because now my favorite place to be is home now.
42:36And I have, you know, the most fun at home.
42:39And I really, a lot of my FOMO for things has died.
42:43Yeah, that's interesting.
42:44My FOMO is going through the roof.
42:46And I'm sure it'll go in phases.
42:48I'm sure I'll have moments in my life where my FOMO is a lot higher.
42:51There's certain things that I have FOMO about.
42:53For sure, I'm not saying like, I'm so evolved and I have no FOMO.
42:57I just, I feel like I used to have way more FOMO than I do now.
43:00That's great.
43:01That's eight.
43:01Because it's just like the desire is not there anymore.
43:03I'm like, yeah.
43:04That's also being mature.
43:05That's becoming an adult.
43:06Right.
43:07Sorry.
43:07Hopefully.
43:08It's becoming an adult.
43:09Yeah.
43:09And also with a kid, it's like, I'm with my kid.
43:11What am I missing out on a party?
43:13And you realize you're missing out on nothing.
43:14Yeah.
43:15You're actually, what you're missing more is when you're missing out with your kid.
43:18And that's when you realize.
43:20You make me want to have a kid.
43:22You should do a TED talk about like.
43:23And if you want to, you should.
43:25It's really the best.
43:26Would you carry my kid?
43:28No.
43:31That was so quick.
43:32But I love you and really want you to have kids.
43:36I just don't think I'm personally interested in being a surrogate for someone else.
43:39And you know what?
43:40That's fair.
43:41That's, I think that's fair.
43:42I go fair.
43:43Yeah.
43:44No, no one has to.
43:45Also, I'm, I'm scared for my kid to end.
43:48No.
43:49You would be a great dad.
43:50Okay.
43:50Are you ready?
43:51We're going to play a game.
43:52So we're playing hot seat.
43:53Ooh.
43:54So it's yes or no questions.
43:55And we can just go as fast as we can.
43:57Okay.
43:57Gut, feeling, reaction, whatever.
44:00Great.
44:00Based on headlines.
44:01Okay.
44:02Do you drink regular milk?
44:03Yes.
44:04All the time.
44:04Whole milk?
44:05I don't have like a dairy allergy and I like the taste of whole milk.
44:09Does that make me a freak?
44:10No, I think that's great.
44:11I think that's absolutely great.
44:12Did you ever finish reading that medical terminology book?
44:15Yeah, actually I did the whole thing.
44:17It was like a work, it was a workbook.
44:19It was like you would read sections and answer questions and do like little, like fill out
44:24little questions.
44:26And you did it?
44:27Yeah.
44:27I want to do that.
44:29In that video, when the medical terminology book came out, you can see where it's like
44:32earmarked of how far I was in it.
44:34I'm obsessed with that.
44:36I feel like it's, it is such a pick me thing that I did that, but.
44:40By the way, I'll be a pick me all day.
44:42If it makes.
44:42I just like, I love medicine.
44:44If it makes me Haley Bieber, I'll be a pick me.
44:45I love medicine and I love like medical stuff.
44:47And I feel like in a past life, I was a doctor.
44:50I actually believe that.
44:51Right?
44:52A hundred percent.
44:52You were like a, you were a dermatologist.
44:53I feel like all my friends come to me for like medical questions.
44:58Really?
44:59I feel like I have the same.
45:00They send you pictures of rashes?
45:02Sometimes.
45:03And they're like, what do you think this is?
45:05Should I see a doctor?
45:05And I'm like, yes or no.
45:07Immediately go to the hospital.
45:09No, I think it's fine.
45:10Put cortisone on it.
45:11I'm shook.
45:13I'm going to start texting you rashes.
45:15But I'm one of those people that when it's a subject I really like, I absorb information.
45:19Totally.
45:19Really well.
45:20So I can repeat it really well.
45:22Like when I had my stroke, just the honorable mention of the stroke.
45:27Well, we have to mention it.
45:27And my heart thing, I could like recite to you top to bottom, like every single thing
45:32that happened and tests that I did and every medical term for it.
45:36And like, I just love it.
45:38Can I say something?
45:39I had a friend on the podcast.
45:40She's a comedian.
45:40Her name is Kat Cohen.
45:42She's amazing.
45:43Hilarious.
45:44She had the same stroke you had.
45:47And the reason she was able to even like feel okay and get through it is because she
45:52knows you had it.
45:54Yeah.
45:54So she kept researching like Haley Bieber.
45:56And then what was it called?
45:58It was called.
45:59Well, I had a TIA, which is she has a PFO.
46:03Yeah.
46:03PFO.
46:03Yeah.
46:04She kept looking Haley Bieber PFO and like making sure everything was good with you.
46:08And then she'd be like, okay, I'm going to be fine.
46:09Did she have to get surgery?
46:10She got surgery.
46:11Yeah.
46:11Did you get surgery?
46:12Mm-hmm.
46:13Yeah.
46:14How are you doing?
46:14They go through your groin and it's like a whole thing.
46:16How are you doing?
46:16I'm fine now.
46:17Hole's closed.
46:18Hole is closed.
46:22Okay.
46:23If you had to drink urine to maintain your skin, would you?
46:26I don't think so.
46:27Okay.
46:27That sounds so yucky.
46:29I would never do it.
46:30I said, I don't think so.
46:31See, I thought about it for a second.
46:33I would never do it.
46:34Ever.
46:36Horror movies?
46:38Love.
46:38You do?
46:39Yeah.
46:39Would you act?
46:40But you ask me this all the time.
46:43I would.
46:44If the right thing came along with the right director and the right project, I would do it
46:48because I think there's certain directors that can like bring out a really good performance
46:53out of someone.
46:54Totally.
46:55So I would if it was the right thing, talking about putting yourself out there, but I'm
46:59not like interested in acting.
47:00Horror movies, I used to like be obsessed with watching scary movies and they wouldn't
47:06even make me flinch the slightest bit.
47:08And I feel like now I'm like, okay, I can't watch this at night because I don't want to have
47:13bad dreams and I don't want to have anxiety.
47:15Yeah.
47:15It really changed for me.
47:17Why?
47:17What do you think?
47:18I think I'm just more sensitive now.
47:20I feel like horror movies have gotten more realistic and more scary.
47:23Because the world is like reflecting the scariness of horror movies.
47:27I think that's why I'm so much more sensitive to it.
47:29Totally.
47:30Everything is real now.
47:32Right.
47:32It could actually happen.
47:33Exactly.
47:34Have you dabbled in witchcraft?
47:36Oh, that's really a crazy question.
47:39I feel like people know that I'm like was raised Christian.
47:43So that was always in my household, like a really like my mom thought everything was
47:48witchcraft.
47:48Everything was demonic, was never allowed to watch Harry Potter.
47:51Or like it was that serious.
47:53So don't dabble, love.
47:56Don't dabble, love.
47:57Would you ever live in Canada?
47:59Yeah.
48:00Maybe not full time, but I really do love it there.
48:03Okay.
48:03I have two more questions for you.
48:04Okay.
48:05What's your nighttime routine?
48:06So my nighttime routine currently is I like to double cleanse, which is, you know, oil cleanser
48:14first, proper cleanser second.
48:17Of course.
48:18Mist.
48:19The Rode Mist?
48:20Of course.
48:20It's really become like my first step in everything.
48:22Wow, I love that.
48:23Because I feel like it makes all my other products kind of sink in deeper.
48:27Yeah.
48:27I use the glazing milk.
48:30I use a serum.
48:32I'm always like testing and playing with different serums because I'm always doing like R&D for
48:37Rode.
48:38So a hydrating serum, whatever I'm using at the time.
48:42Right, right, right.
48:43I'm also using an eye cream right now, which I do sometimes and don't do other times.
48:48So I do serum, eye cream, moisturizer, lip, and that's my routine.
48:53And then you get into bed.
48:54How much do you sleep?
48:55How much do I sleep?
48:56Yeah.
48:57Do you sleep alone?
48:58I try to at least get eight hours.
49:00Is that a lot?
49:02I used to sleep like 10, 12 hours.
49:05I have to go.
49:06Is eight hours a lot?
49:08Do you know how much I sleep?
49:08Like two?
49:10Yeah.
49:11Four to six.
49:12It's not more from fall.
49:13No, no, no.
49:14It's really bad and it's catching up to me.
49:16It's turning to freak out.
49:17You sleep eight hours a night.
49:19I have to change my whole-
49:19Or like nine or 10.
49:21I have to change my whole life.
49:22Like I can get into bed at nine o'clock and like sleep till seven the next morning,
49:27eight the next morning.
49:28Yeah.
49:29Okay.
49:29But can I say one thing about that?
49:30Because I think that sleeping patterns have to do with genetics as well because my mom
49:37growing up, she could sleep like nobody's business, like sleep till noon.
49:42Same as my dad.
49:43But my dad was not that way.
49:44Like he would sleep like five hours and be up at five in the morning and like, but my sister
49:48is the same way.
49:49So like me, my mom and my sister all sleep the same kind of way.
49:52A lot.
49:53A lot.
49:53Like I was the kid at sleepovers where everyone would be up at like 6am and I'd be sleeping
49:59till 10.
50:01My friends would be like, they're on their phone.
50:03I'm dead.
50:03And you're like, just one more hour.
50:05They'd be like, hey, let's, can we go down and make pancakes?
50:07And I'd be like, give me one more, 30 more minutes.
50:09Like I was that, like, I love to sleep.
50:11I wish I could sleep.
50:13I wish.
50:14Do you put, um, mask on?
50:16No.
50:17I also, I was saying this to somebody the other day.
50:19I had to like train myself to sleep on my back because-
50:22You used to sleep on your stomach?
50:23No, I would sleep on my left side, which is really healthy for you to sleep on your
50:27left side.
50:27But when I had my surgery, the heart thing, it was really uncomfortable feeling to sleep
50:31on my side.
50:32Yeah.
50:33And the comfiest way to sleep was like on my back and a little bit propped up, which like
50:37now I love because it's way better for your skin to sleep on your back.
50:40Totally.
50:41So now you're like this?
50:42Yes.
50:42Yeah.
50:42No, I sleep.
50:43Now you're literally a mummy?
50:44I'm literally like a vampire in a coffin.
50:46I love that.
50:47Okay.
50:48I just have, I just saw this question that I really want to know.
50:50Okay.
50:51When is the last time you got the ick?
50:53From anyone.
50:55It doesn't have to be like-
50:56Oh my gosh, that happens all the time.
50:57I know, but like what, what is that thing for you right now?
51:00I've given myself the ick.
51:01What?
51:02Like I'll say something, I'm like, ew, why did I just say that?
51:04That always happens to me.
51:05Wait, like you're like, what?
51:06That always happens to me.
51:08Do you ever get like secondhand ick for someone?
51:10Of course.
51:11Yeah.
51:11It happened today when I was at, I was at CVS and this man was talking to this girl and
51:16clearly wanted to hit on her and was like, you're picking up your drugs?
51:19And then the girl was like, mm-hmm.
51:21And I looked at him and I was like, no, no, no, no, no.
51:24Stop now.
51:24Stop now.
51:25Stop now.
51:25Don't do that.
51:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.
51:27Watching Love is Blind right now.
51:28And the way I get icked out by Love is Blind, like I'm hurt for-
51:33Oh my God, it'd be so funny you on Love is Blind.
51:35Nobody would know.
51:37I was actually joking with somebody about this the other day.
51:39I was like, I always wonder when I'm watching Love is Blind, like, what if that was me?
51:43Like, would someone fall in love?
51:44Wait, totally.
51:45Or would they be like, this bitch is crazy.
51:47Totally.
51:48I think if somebody just was talking to me, they'd be like-
51:50I'm so delusional that I'm like, obviously like,
51:55he would fall in love immediately.
51:57Well, word bomb comes in our head.
51:59I was talking to Justin about this the other day and I was like,
52:01I always think about like, would they think I was attractive when the doors opened?
52:06Like-
52:06I'm dead.
52:07Would the doors open and the guy be like, damn, like,
52:10I'm so happy that she was my choice.
52:12Or like, would he be like, oh.
52:14No, for me, they'd be like, they'd see me and they'd be like,
52:17I have to leave the show.
52:18They'd be like-
52:19They'd be like-
52:21Literally.
52:23Wait, it's a girl being like, make a best friend.
52:26It's me and you.
52:27It's you.
52:27It's us.
52:28Yeah.
52:29We matched on Love is Blind.
52:30That's our love story.
52:31We matched on Love is Blind.
52:33I ask every single person this on my podcast.
52:36Okay.
52:37What is your big dream?
52:39I think my big dream would be that people have more empathy and we could
52:43relate to each other a little bit more.
52:45And the way that people are so awful to each other and mean to each other
52:48on social media, on all of it.
52:50If we could meet each other with a little bit more understanding.
52:53Totally.
52:54I feel like society would be a better place.
52:55Totally.
52:56I love that.
52:57That's my big dream.
52:58My big dream is that we normalize smaller people in the relationship,
53:05shorter people in the relationship being the big spoon.
53:08I just wish that could be.
53:09I'm putting my stamp of approval on it.
53:13But I get a lot of hate when I say to my friends, Jared didn't spoon me.
53:17They're like, you should spoon him.
53:19Just because you're taller and bigger?
53:20Yeah.
53:21I'm like, no.
53:22No, you guys should spoon each other.
53:25Aww.
53:26Aww.
53:26Okay, Haley, do you have anything you're dying to talk about that I didn't ask you?
53:31I just wanted to come on here and be cozy and be silly.
53:33Haley is one of the funniest people I've ever met in my life.
53:36Oh, please.
53:36No, no, no, no, no.
53:37Haley and I in a room together, we die laughing.
53:39Well, that's a big compliment coming from Owen because Owen is actually one of the funniest
53:43people I've ever met.
53:44So when I make Owen laugh and he's like, dude, you're funny.
53:48Like, I don't think you knew I was funny until we became friends.
53:52Not at all.
53:52But you make me feel a lot funnier.
53:54But you are very funny.
53:56You're very, very funny.
53:57I think also you are, and this is met with love, you are so beautiful and intimidating.
54:03No, no, no.
54:04You see you on Instagram and you're like, how could that girl be funny?
54:07You know what I mean?
54:07Right, right, right.
54:08But then you're just so naturally funny.
54:10So now.
54:11Well, that's us.
54:12You were this.
54:13Okay.
54:13And I were this.
54:14Thank you for coming on.
54:15I love you so much.
54:16You mean the world to me.
54:17I would do this.
54:18We make out.
54:19Can I be honest?
54:20I was like, oh my God, I'm going to do that.
54:22I got nervous.
54:23I was like, oh shit.
54:24Me texting Justin.
54:25I just did it, but I promise it means nothing.
54:27Okay.
54:27Ready?
54:28Yes.
54:29We look into this camera.
54:30Oh, hi.
54:32Well, okay.
54:33Well, we're saying bye.
54:34We're done.
54:35Bye.
54:35Haley goes, we have another two hours.
54:38Let's go.
54:38I'm like, let's just start over.
54:40I'm dead.
54:40You look into these cameras and you say, good night.
54:42I love you.
54:43Okay.
54:43Okay.
54:43Ready?
54:43On the count of three.
54:44We do it together.
54:45Okay.
54:45Thank you for coming on.
54:46I love you.
54:47I love you.
54:47Three, two, one.
54:48Good night.
54:50You forgot your line.
54:51You can't be an actor.
54:52I love you.
54:53Okay.
54:53Ready?
54:54Yes.
54:54I'm ready.
54:54I'm ready.
54:55Three.
54:55You're like, if the right project comes along, I'm like this right now.
54:58I'm like, this is the right project.
54:59I'm locked in.
55:00Three, two, one.
55:02Good night.
55:03I love you.
55:05Haley Bieber on the podcast.
55:07You're going to figure it out in your dreams.
55:13Good night.
55:14Good night, I won't deal.
