00:00Okay, so, Freya, how did you get into the adult industry?
00:05The story that everyone is dying to, I'm just kidding.
00:08It's rather odd.
00:10I think that it's odd because I don't, like, I haven't gotten into porn and met other girls that have had this experience.
00:16But I'm a weirdo.
00:17So, I was a huge porn fan.
00:21But not, like, it's not like I would sit around and, like, masturbate to porn.
00:24That was not it for me.
00:26I was just intrigued by porn.
00:28Like, I was like, this is really interesting.
00:31Like, the industry as a whole.
00:33Yes.
00:34Like, I remember, I think I saw, like, a documentary on Netflix or something.
00:38Maybe it was, like, When Porn Ends, which, you know, those were.
00:41Ooh, yeah.
00:42Yeah, exactly.
00:43And I was like.
00:44There were a few of those.
00:46I was like, I don't feel like this is, like, a great example.
00:48Like, I feel like there's more to this.
00:49Like, how could this industry be thriving?
00:52And this is how it goes, right?
00:54So, I get this a lot when people ask me about bringing, like, vintage stars on.
01:00Right.
01:00If they've moved on with their life in a successful way in which they've got another career that's not involved with adult or whatever.
01:07Right.
01:08Maybe their family or something.
01:10They generally don't want to come back and relive their porn career.
01:13Yeah.
01:14Because it doesn't do them any good.
01:15Right.
01:16Like, financially, right?
01:17Because they don't have anything to promote or sell.
01:19Yeah.
01:19If you've made that successful transition out, you don't want to, like, out yourself.
01:24Yeah.
01:25Because there's a lot of stigma that follows it.
01:26Right.
01:26I mean, everybody knows that.
01:28So much stigma.
01:28So, if you've managed to, like, move to the Midwest and start a family and you're, like, a soccer mom now.
01:34Yeah.
01:34And you're, you know, living.
01:36Why would you go on a porn podcast?
01:39Yeah, exactly.
01:40And be like, hi, I used to be this porn star.
01:42Like, they don't want that.
01:44And so, that's why you often can't get interviews with people who left the adult industry unless they're, like, still in it in some way, shape, or form.
01:53Yeah.
01:53Or, like, they have some sob story that, like, they want to sell or something like that.
01:58And that's, Hollywood loves that.
02:00Yes.
02:01They eat that up.
02:02Yes.
02:02They're like, aww, this industry hurt you?
02:05We love women to regret the choices that they've made.
02:07Tell us all about it.
02:08Yes.
02:08So, I remember seeing that.
02:11And then I think, I saw, like, Janine.
02:14I think Janine did one of those.
02:16Yeah, she did.
02:16And I was, like, who the hell is Janine?
02:20And I was, like, I think I had 17 turning 18.
02:24I had just turned 18.
02:25And I was, like, who the fuck is this person?
02:27So, I, like, fell down a deep dive.
02:30And that's when, like, I was, like, forget the porn that people are making today.
02:34Like, what is this porn that they were making in the 90s?
02:37Like, what is this?
02:38And so, I just, like, became obsessed, basically, with, like, learning about everyone that was.
02:45And honestly, the industry was so small back then.
02:48It was small.
02:49Like, now I can't.
02:51It's so saturated.
02:52But back then, it was, like, you could count the directors on your hands.
02:55Like, it was just, you know.
02:57So, I just fell down, like, this hole of porn.
03:00And I was, like, man, this is, like, really crazy.
03:03I think I want to, like, participate in this some way.
03:06But I didn't know how.
03:08And I had a desk job out of high school.
03:09And I was, like, oh, we all have dreams.
03:15I'll just be here on my computer.
03:16But it wasn't.
03:20It wasn't.
03:20It wasn't meant to be that way.
03:22No.
03:22Clearly not.
03:24COVID.
03:25Ah, COVID.
03:26COVID will do it.
03:26COVID was the gateway drug to porn.
03:28I got to tell you, like, so many people got into porn because of COVID.
03:32We thought the world was ending.
03:33Yeah.
03:33Some people were, like, I'm going to do.
03:35OnlyFans was blowing up.
03:36People were making lots of money.
03:37Exactly.
03:38And everyone was, like, fuck it.
03:39I don't care.
03:40I'm, like, stuck in my house by myself.
03:41Yeah.
03:42And I can't pay my rent.
03:43Literally.
03:44And, like, the government doesn't care.
03:45They don't care at all.
03:46Yeah.
03:46So, that's kind of what happened to me.
03:49Because at that point, I had been, I went to AVN in 2020.
03:54And I was, like, okay.
03:55I brought my friend Paige.
03:56And I was, like, girl.
03:57We met there, right?
03:57Yeah, we did.
03:58Yes.
03:59I was doing interviews at the Adult Time booth.
04:01Yes.
04:02Yes.
04:02So, I had been listening to the podcast, actually.
04:05I was, like, I've got to learn everything I can.
04:08And then I flew Paige out with me for the weekend.
04:13And we went to the expo.
04:14And I, like, dressed up.
04:16I was, like, I have to have my little outfit on.
04:18Like, I have to look all cute because I'm going to meet all these people.
04:21And I just wanted to get a feel.
04:23I was, like, Paige, this is going to dictate the rest of, like, my life.
04:27Like, if I go and I meet people and I like them and it's chill, great.
04:32If I go and I'm, like, that was fucking crazy, never again, back to the desk job.
04:37So, I went and I loved it.
04:39I actually met Jenna Fox.
04:42She, like, brought me to a bunch of parties that I was not old enough to get into.
04:47And I was just, like, having the time of my life.
04:50Yeah.
04:50And then I got on a plane and I went back to my sad desk job.
04:56And I was, like, wow, that, this sucks.
04:59Like, it was, like, a withdrawal.
05:00And I was, like, okay.
05:02So, that was in January.
05:03And then, obviously.
05:05COVID hit.
05:06Yeah.
05:06And I was just, like, I have to pay my bills.
05:12Because my job at the time entailed me sitting at a desk and interviewing people face-to-face from nine to five, five days a week.
05:23And I was, like, I can't.
05:24I don't even want to be in an office.
05:25Like, I don't want to leave my house.
05:27And so, I remember walking in one day with all my stuff and being, like, sorry.
05:33Like, I don't know what's going on out there.
05:34And I have to quit.
05:36And I remember my boss being, like, you're not going to find another job that pays more than what you're making now.
05:41Surprise.
05:42A little surprise.
05:44April.
05:46So, it was really funny because at the time I was making, like, $450 a week at this job that I was working nine to five, five days a week.
05:54So, I was, like, girl, what are you talking about?
05:56Yeah.
05:56That's not a living wage for anyone.
05:58Not even just for a 19-year-old girl.
06:01For literally anyone.
06:02Especially during a pandemic.
06:05And so, I left.
06:07My stimulus check came in.
06:09And I was, like, well, I don't know what to do.
06:13And I had a therapist at the time that I had been doing, like, Zoom calls with.
06:17And she calls me up, like, a month into COVID.
06:20And she's, like, I'm quitting my job.
06:23I just want to let you know.
06:24I want to be completely, like, truthful with you.
06:26I've been doing MFC for, like, fuck off.
06:29Oh, my God.
06:30I was going to say, okay.
06:31I was going to say, like, I was going to joke that she was going to tell you that she was joining OnlyFans.
06:36But it was not a joke.
06:37No, it's not a joke at all.
06:38MFC is my free cam.
06:40So, she's, like, the biggest camming platform in the world, by the way.
06:42Just for those who don't know.
06:44You literally, you guessed it.
06:46I love it.
06:47So, she calls me, and she's, like, I've been camming for six months now.
06:51I have more money in the bank than I've ever had.
06:54And this is a therapist.
06:55This is my therapist.
06:55There's some ways to make, like, good money.
06:58Yeah.
06:59And I was, like, girl.
07:01Well, I just quit my job.
07:02So, like, what do you mean MFC?
07:04Do you want to do a collab?
07:06Just wait.
07:07Wait, really?
07:10Just wait.
07:11No, not really.
07:12But it got weird.
07:14Things got weird.
07:14So, she was, like, come over.
07:17I'll teach you your face right now.
07:19You're horrified.
07:21You have no hair.
07:22You just don't know what's going to happen.
07:24So, I go over to her house.
07:26She's, like, you need this.
07:27You need that.
07:28You need this camera.
07:29You need this laptop.
07:30You need these toys.
07:32And I'm, like, okay.
07:34Like, whatever.
07:35She shows me.
07:36She helps me set up my account.
07:38Wow.
07:39And next thing I knew, a week later, I was on MFC.
07:42And I think in my first week, I made, like, almost two grand.
07:47Wow.
07:48And I had gone on for, like, four days.
07:50Wow.
07:50And I was, like, oh, I guess I can make more than that desk job.
07:55Yeah.
07:56And so, yeah, I mean, I made that money back immediately from my stimulus check, which was amazing.
08:02And then I could pay my bills.
08:03Because at the time, my mom had moved to Denver, and I was living alone in the apartment.
08:08She was still paying for it.
08:09But she's, like, girl, when that lease is up, like, you got to get out.
08:12So, I was, like, okay.
08:14So, I was just, like, trying to save money and put money away so I could move out.
08:19And, yeah.
08:20So, I started in OnlyFans.
08:21Which, by the way, when you don't have any way of advertising yourself, it is not easy.
08:29I had lots of guys from MFC come and, like, join my OnlyFans.
08:32But there were so many, like, dudes that I went to school with that were, like, hey, like, how's it going?
08:37And I'm from a small town.
08:39Yeah.
08:40So, it was, like, the majority of the people paying my bills right now are, like, my neighbors.
08:44Weird.
08:46So.
08:46You know where their stimulus check was going?
08:48That's right into mine, I guess.
08:50Yeah.
08:50So, yeah, that's what happened.
08:54And I moved in with a friend.
08:56And next thing you know.
08:59Damn.
09:00Yeah.
09:00That was, like, that was a real breakthrough session that you had with your therapist, huh?
09:05I guess so.
09:07Really life-changing.
09:08Really changed the direction of everything for me.
09:12Wow.
09:12Yeah.
09:13Maybe your therapist was just, can I ask, like, how old she was?
09:16She was, like, in her early, early 30s.
09:19Okay.
09:20Yeah.
09:20So, she was, like, okay.
09:21I'm just, like, thinking about the therapists that I've had who've all been, like, in their 60s, 70s.
09:27Yeah, no.
09:28You know.
09:29So, when I'm picturing, like, my therapist.
09:31Right.
09:32Like, joining MFC.
09:33Right.
09:34But, I guess, yeah.
09:35Early 30s.
09:35That makes sense.
09:37Yeah.
09:38Well, and then it's funny, because I'd be, like, camming in since you're, you can have friends on MFC.
09:42People can, like, see who you're friends with.
09:44Sometimes she'd come in my chat and be, like, hey, girl, she's checking in on you.
09:48When I'm, like, fucking tits out.
09:50Like, how are you feeling?
09:52Well, it's funny, because no one could know that we knew each other.
09:54Right.
09:55And so, people would be, like, hey, you guys should, like, collab sometime.
09:59I'm, like, she knows my childhood trauma.
10:01Like, I can't do that.
10:04What do you mean?
10:05I'm going to have to marry her after that.
10:06Like, it's just not, you know?
10:09So.
10:10That's crazy.
10:11Yeah.
10:11That is definitely a much different, yeah, personal experience that I've heard from, like, anybody else.
