00:00Hello, everybody. Welcome back to Taste of Reality. My name is Queenie. For those who don't know me, reviewing 90 Day Fiancé. I almost said married at first sight. 90 Day Fiancé Season 9, Episodes 5, 6, and 7. So before I get into it, please make sure to like this video, subscribe and hit the notification bell, and leave a comment down below.
00:20Okay, so as always, it's going to be jumbled up just because I'm doing a catch-up process at this point, but Sunday's review is going to be more structured. So I'm going to start with Ariella and Binnie.
00:32Arie and Binnie, to me, I feel like are two people who are trying to make it work because they know they have a kid together and not because there's love in their relationship.
00:46You know, honestly, sometimes even when I see Arie wearing her Ethiopian garb, I'm just like, whew, baby, you are forcing this.
00:54Like, maybe she genuinely does like the outfits. Maybe. But it feels like she's really trying to like, see, look, I'm trying to become one of you. See, see. And I'm just like, girl, I don't think Binnie sees it for you.
01:09He's going to put in the work because he loves his son. And obviously, he has the trauma of losing his first son when the previous wife just up and left and he's never heard from them since.
01:19So I think he is going to put in that effort to make sure that doesn't happen again. But does he love Arie? I don't know. I don't know. It's a little iffy for me.
01:28So when they arrived to the States, Arie had told her mother that she wanted a one-bedroom apartment so that it's affordable.
01:36The mother took it upon herself to get a two-bedroom apartment because she believed that they needed more space, which is a valid argument.
01:44However, if your daughter already told you, listen, financially, it makes more sense for us to get a one-bedroom apartment and you take it upon yourself to get a two-bedroom and then expect them to take on the payments, oh, you set them up.
01:58You have Wi-Fi. You have a TV. Less stuff, less stress.
02:02Actually, for me and for Arie, it's less.
02:04I don't know if it's realistic to expect us to be able to start covering the rent on our own as soon as possible.
02:10You know, as soon as you can. But within the first two to three months, better for you, better for us.
02:18The mom wants them to be close by, so maybe close by there wasn't a one-bedroom apartment.
02:25But I'm sorry. If I was Arie, I would be like, well, I'm going to take my sweet time getting a job because I told you what I wanted and you purposely went against my wishes.
02:36Now I'm just supposed to take on this huge financial burden because of your comfort?
02:43Like, what? And I know that's crazy to say because Arie could have handled this herself.
02:48You know, she could have went and got a job and she could have went and got her own apartment so that her family could live in it.
02:53Okay. The family did her a service, but they also did her a disservice by putting her in this situation.
03:00So, although they're already going through financial hardship, Benny wants to move to New York, is it?
03:07Because they're in New Jersey. Yeah, I don't know American geography. Okay. So, please don't come from my neck.
03:11He's trying to move to a place that's significantly more expensive than where they are currently living.
03:18And I'm like, come on, Benny. Like, it's giving. I came here for the American dream. It's giving.
03:24Once I get my papers, I'm out. And funny enough, when he had a conversation with his sisters trying to get to the bottom of why the whole wine situation happened.
03:34First of all, he didn't defend his wife while it happened. And now when he's rehashing the situation with his sisters, he's laughing.
03:42I'll be damned.
03:43They later on talk about how he should just get his papers and then he can go back and forth between America and Ethiopia just to see his son.
04:09And I'm like, yeah, love does not live here. It doesn't. Neither do they, technically, because once mama stops paying, they ain't got a house.
04:18Oh, moving on. Next, we're going to talk about Patrick and Thais. Thais has finally come to America, but before she did, she had a conversation with her father.
04:27And the father is not a fan of Patrick at all.
04:31He also has this insecurity in his mind that his daughter is going to be taken advantage of, that Patrick is just another American guy who's trying to take a woman, a very vulnerable woman, a woman who would be indebted to them, to America.
04:55And then God knows what happens to his daughter. So he has that insecurity. But then he also doesn't like Patrick as a person, which is unbeknownst to Patrick, because Thais is making it a point not to bring up the father's disdain for him.
05:08And so he thinks, oh, you know, the dad likes me. He sends gifts. He takes care of the family when there's disdain on the other side of the line.
05:16And so big yikes. So Thais is obviously not a fan of John. John, likewise, is not a fan of Thais.
05:23And them living together is honestly a dumpster fire. But I don't even know who to blame because I feel like they are both doing the most.
05:32Making her breakfast? Yeah.
05:35She making you breakfast. No, I'm going to make her breakfast. Good morning, John.
05:38Good morning. Beer? Beer?
05:41In the morning. You know what beer is?
05:44Man, she knows what beer is. There's beer in Brazil.
05:48I don't know. She's asking a question.
05:50What are you doing, amor?
05:51I'm cooking John eggs.
05:53How are you? Your eggs?
05:54Yeah, I will.
05:55John knows how to make eggs for him.
05:57Don't let her tell you what you got to cook.
06:00She wants me to eat with her son.
06:02You cook what the fuck you want to cook.
06:03Regardless of how things are happening, I feel like the person who does need to compromise the most would have to be John.
06:11Like, Patrick didn't set up a good situation for him and Thais because, brother or not, I'm sorry, when you're now going into a union, having a roommate is, yikes.
06:28You know, it's really not the best situation, especially a roommate who does not like your spouse, your potential spouse.
06:36It's just not a good look.
06:37And I understand for the time being it did work for him because he was in a dire situation where he needed somebody to live with.
06:45But this arrangement doesn't work anymore.
06:48And either John's going to have to bite the bullet and leave or Thais is going to have to shut up and take it or Patrick's going to have to cut ties with somebody.
06:57And it's looking like it might be John.
06:58Patrick did go into, you know, the way that his upbringing was.
07:04That's why he's so tied to John.
07:06Like, family means so much to him and it hurts him that he doesn't have that connection with the rest of his family.
07:12So the fact that he and John are still in each other's good graces and they still have love for each other, it would pain him to have to separate from him.
07:20And he hopes that Thais gets that in her head.
07:23But honestly, it's not looking likely.
07:26It's not looking likely.
07:27This girl is very selfish.
07:28And that's the trend with the younger international women.
07:31They tend to be very selfish in these situations.
07:34So for him to think that she would be able to look outside of herself in this situation is a little naive.
07:41On to Eve and Muhammad.
07:45I cannot stand the both of them.
07:47They are both probably the most irritating people on this season.
07:52Okay.
07:53So with Muhammad, he has already said he came to America looking for a mom.
07:59Not even like a sugar mama, literally a mother figure.
08:02But at the same time, he wants to be this egotistical male presence in her home where she can't be left alone with another man.
08:15She can't be wearing clothes that he deems as seductive.
08:18When he initially reached out to her because of the kind of pictures that she was posting on social media.
08:23He doesn't like that she wears bikinis.
08:25He doesn't like that her panty line is showing.
08:27He doesn't like that cleavage is showing.
08:29Like he has all these stipulations.
08:31But then he also wants to be catered to like a child.
08:34It's like, babe, what are you saying?
08:37This makes no sense.
08:38I think it's rich for him to talk about, oh, in my religion, you know,
09:08men and women can't be left alone where he was left alone with her, even less his virginity to her when they were not married.
09:19So what are you talking about?
09:21You have already broken your own rules.
09:23Like you can't use your religion, your culture when it benefits you and then want to use it against your partner when it's self-fulfilling.
09:38Wait, that's the same thing.
09:40You guys know what I'm saying, okay?
09:41I'm struggling right now.
09:42You know what I'm saying.
09:43I'm just like, don't use it against her, but then use it to your benefit.
09:47Like that's not how it works.
09:49The rules are the rules regardless of who they apply to, you know?
09:52So he did meet the friends and I felt like the friends are definitely trying to push the envelope when it comes to him.
09:58And I would too, because I'm looking at this young guy who it seems like he's taking advantage of this older woman who is my friend.
10:06I would want to poke as many buttons as I can to get to the root of why are you really here?
10:10And so he thinks that they are weird.
10:13He doesn't like that they show a lot of their body.
10:15He doesn't like that they drink and all this stuff.
10:17But they're like, listen, this is who we are.
10:19This is the country that we live in.
10:21You either got to put up or shut up.
10:22And I agree with them, honestly.
10:25And it's so funny how Eve thought he would somehow become the father figure to her son who has special needs.
10:33But this man is not a man.
10:37He cannot be a father figure to your son.
10:40I'm so sorry.
10:41The good thing is that it seems to me, I think I interpreted it correctly, that the child's father is present in the life.
10:49They're just not together as a couple.
10:51Well, let that be his only father figure because Muhammad is not it.
10:56Next up, we have Jabri and Miona.
10:58As I was looking up clips for this, as I was looking up clips for this video, I saw that they already have a YouTube channel.
11:05They're doing their influencer thing.
11:06I'm just like, yeah, it was giving forced the storyline, honestly.
11:10I feel like the life that he was promising her was a life that she knew she was going to have, especially considering the lifestyle that he had before COVID.
11:19So this whole, oh, we have to live in the country.
11:22Oh, my mom hates the way you dress and all this stuff.
11:25I'm like, okay.
11:26It's a way to make the storyline work so that when they do have their come up, it's like, wow, look at the resilience.
11:32Wow, they made it so far.
11:34I don't buy it.
11:36Okay.
11:36But there was a situation with Jabri's mother where Miona was doing laundry.
11:42Jabri's mom went to check in on her, saw an outfit that she had, and she disapproved, right?
11:47So Miona was rehashing the situation with Jabri.
11:53And honestly, I felt like she shared it pretty to the point of how it happened.
11:58I don't think she inflated the situation.
12:00I think she shared it as is.
12:02But the mom was still offended.
12:04She's like, I don't want you walking around the house in that.
12:08And then she would mention that she don't want me, like, walking in front of Brian like that.
12:13I'm concerned that Miona is being fake with us because Miona's not telling this to me.
12:21As somebody who does come from a traditional home, I do understand the whole, there's certain
12:25clothing that you don't wear around certain people, but Miona is not some seductress trying
12:32to get your husband, ma'am, all right?
12:34She's a young girl.
12:36Like, this is her career.
12:37Like, I just, I don't know.
12:39I see both sides where the tradition of it all is like, okay, it's just a respect thing.
12:44And modesty is important in certain situations.
12:50But then on the other hand, I'm like, okay, she's not, she's, she's not a temptress trying
12:56to get your man, you know?
12:58And like a crop top and off the shoulder.
13:01Like, it's not like she's out here with her areolas out.
13:03Like, I felt like, I felt like this was doing a little bit much.
13:08Do I see them lasting?
13:11Obviously, I do.
13:12I just think, why are they trying to force a story that doesn't really make sense?
13:18Also, is she black fishing?
13:21Because sometimes I look at her and I'm like, this ain't a black woman?
13:25And I'm like, no, she's from Serbia.
13:27She's not a black woman, but she'd be looking black.
13:31I don't know.
13:33Bilal and Shida.
13:38I have two schools of thought when it comes to these two.
13:40With Bilal, definitely his personality is money because it seems like that's all he's
13:47got going for him.
13:48With Shida, I feel like she did this to herself.
13:53I do.
13:53I feel like she didn't ask the proper questions before coming.
13:56I feel like she looked over a lot of character flaws with Bilal.
14:02And now she's in a situation where she has to deal with it and suffer.
14:13But she could have sifted out like his lecturing is not something that's new.
14:18Him using his money as like a power dynamic in their relationship is not something that's new.
14:25So the children conversation, he doesn't want to explicitly say that, yes, I want more children
14:30in the future, whereas she believes that she will only get married to a person if they want
14:34children in the future.
14:35Those are things that you could have hashed out before coming here.
14:38And now she's complaining about this and that and this and that when it's like, girl,
14:43just accept the fact that you didn't do your due diligence before coming to be betrothed to
14:48this man.
14:49I'm sorry.
14:50With Bilal, though, it's very irritating how he lashes out at Shida when he doesn't
14:57get his way.
14:57So the situation with the whole car slapping, she thought it was a joke.
15:02He thought it was offensive.
15:03He held that over her head the entire day when he wanted this day to introduce her to his
15:09family, introduce her to his community.
15:12And like it was it was very passive aggressive and honestly, emotionally abusive.
15:17So ready to go?
15:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:20Let's go.
15:20Okay, let's go.
15:21I'll meet you outside.
15:22Outside, yeah.
15:23As well.
15:23On this one.
15:23Yeah.
15:25I'm trying to find ways to fight against my anxiety because I'm going to meet his ex-wife
15:30right now and I'm trying to just calm myself down.
15:34I was standing outside in my shirt for a while before you came.
15:37This is not my place.
15:39This is not my country.
15:40In the last episode, I didn't get to talk about how Bilal's kids were on the fence about
15:45calling Shida mom.
15:47The reality is they do have a mother, so I could see how hard it is to want to give that
15:52title to somebody else.
15:53I do love how respectful they were in saying, hey, we'll take that into consideration.
15:58However, for now, you are Shida.
16:01And that's just how it's going to be.
16:04With Shida, though, I'm like, girl, you're asking a lot to want these kids to call you
16:08mom or uni, uni, uni or uni, something like that.
16:13I'm just like, y'all ain't even married yet.
16:17Not legally, at least.
16:18So how about you show up as a mother and then request such things?
16:26It's a little soon for you to be seeing that.
16:29Cara and Guillermo.
16:31Oh, so Cara gets on my last nerve.
16:35And I thought I was going to be Guillermo because he's so young.
16:37But honestly, I can see the maturity in him for a 23-year-old.
16:43I can see how he has a lot of growing to do.
16:46But when you put him 23, besides Cara 29, he's the mature one in this situation.
16:54So she is planning their high school, well, she's not planning the high school reunion,
17:02but she's decorating for it, right?
17:04And she has this insecurity that people are going to judge her because she should be somewhere
17:08else in life.
17:09But here she is on a TV show about dating some foreign person and then also blowing up
17:13balloons as her career.
17:14So she definitely has a chip on her shoulder going in.
17:17At the reunion, we find out that she has an ex-boyfriend who is one of them new Lil Rappers
17:23Lil something, something.
17:25He looks horrible.
17:28But he exposes that she has a history of cheating.
17:32It was 10 years ago.
17:33They were in high school.
17:33Honestly, I wouldn't take that much offense to it if I was Guillermo.
17:40But she later on exposed that she has cheated on other people too.
17:45I don't know that part from Cara really well.
17:47So I need to be aware.
17:49Like, I need to be careful.
17:52When she shows you, you can't trust her, go about your life, bro.
17:58That's speaking from man to man.
18:00I'm telling you right now.
18:01On top of the cheating, she does have a drinking issue where she gets carried away with alcohol
18:05and it seems like the drinking never ends.
18:07She doesn't want the night to ever end.
18:09Whereas he's like, okay, we can have fun.
18:11But at some point we need to get back to reality.
18:13And they are definitely clashing heads on that matter.
18:15So when you mix a history of cheating, her kind of undermining him as a partner,
18:20and then she has an alcohol dependence, it's giving recipe for disaster.
18:27It really is.
18:29And I don't see Guillermo as a person who is using Cara for papers.
18:34However, once he get his papers, if Cara makes one slip, honestly, Guillermo, run.
18:41Run for your life.
18:42Because I can see him doing good things.
18:44I can see so much potential in this kid.
18:47Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I feel like he could really do some damage here.
18:54You know, he'll be work-centered.
18:56He's got a good head on his shoulders.
18:58He's seen what life back home is like.
19:00So I'm sure he's going to do whatever it takes not to go back there.
19:03Listen, if Cara makes one wrong move and he already has his papers, I support him leaving.
19:08Last but not least, we have Kobe and what's her name?
19:11Emily.
19:16Kobe, you done messed up.
19:18You done messed up.
19:19Okay?
19:20Of course, you guys already have a child.
19:22There's nothing you can do about that.
19:24But, ooh, the woman you chose to impregnate is insufferable.
19:29Oh, my goodness.
19:30She has every excuse why Kobe can't be a present father in Kobe's life.
19:36If you're in the bed, Kobe can't sleep.
19:38Oh, why are you telling me I can't breastfeed?
19:41Oh, da-da-da.
19:41All this stuff.
19:42And I don't know if it's me being biased because I am African and I do understand where his values come from.
19:49But listening to her, I'm just like, you want to have power over him?
19:57And the greatest way to do that is to say, well, I'm the parent.
20:00I'm the sole provider for this child here.
20:04So, therefore, you have to listen to me.
20:05You have to bend to my rules.
20:07And I'm just like, it's so unfair.
20:09Of course, he hasn't been in Kobe's life for 17 months, it is.
20:14But I'm like, here he is, trying to make an effort, trying to step in as a father, allow him the space to do so.
20:22So, I miss my mom so much.
20:24I wish she was still alive, like, you know, for her to see Kobe.
20:28And share some African culture together, it would make me so happy.
20:34I also find it irritating, too, when somebody uses their family as a crutch.
20:59It's great that the family wants to step in and help, but Kobe's in a place where he is a foreigner just in general.
21:07He's one of a handful of black people.
21:11He's in a space where it's only your family.
21:15And so, he has nobody on his side.
21:17There's nobody to vouch for him.
21:18There's nobody who really understands his perspective because he not only has the perspective of, like, a new father just trying to figure it out.
21:26He's an African trying to be in this new country.
21:29And he's a foreigner coming into an already set family dynamic.
21:34Like, there's so many things that are against him.
21:38I really do sympathize for Kobe.
21:41I do.
21:42I think Emily is irritating.
21:45I think Emily is a control freak.
21:47She's bossy.
21:48She's rude.
21:49And if she wants a relationship with Kobe to work, she's going to have to let up on the reins a bit.
21:56Seriously.
21:56Like, yesterday.
21:58Okay?
21:59That is all the thoughts that I have so far.
22:01Again, we are going to do now, like, regular reviews episode by episode coming Sunday.
