00:07with star and executive producer Ellen Pompeo inking a rich new deal to return to the Shondaland hit.
00:13Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that with Pompeo's New Deal, the actress behind the iconic
00:17role of Dr. Meredith Grey secured another salary increase and now remains broadcast
00:22television's highest-earning actress in a primetime drama series.
00:26Joining Pompeo are original stars Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr.,
00:30who have also closed new deals and sizable pay bumps to return for season 18.
00:35Despite the good news, no decisions have been made about Grey's Anatomy's future beyond season 18.
00:40Though the formal pickup puts an end to speculation that the current season would be the last for Grey's

00:54In its 17th season, Grey's Anatomy remains a massive asset for ABC and Disney. The series
01:00ranks as broadcast number one entertainment series in the 18-49 demo and as ABC's top
01:05drama series among total viewers and the advertiser-coveted demo. Elsewhere,
01:10Grey's Anatomy's firefighter-focused spin-off Station 19 also earned a renewal and will be back on
01:15ABC's 2021-2022 schedule for its fifth season. For more TV news and updates, head to THR.com.
