00:00And speaking of Christmas, the spirit of the Yuletide season hits closer to home with the captivating lights of Christmas lanterns amid the backdrop of pleasing Christmas carols, both of which went on full display in tonight's lantern parade in the Fort City with the theme of Christmas in the Walls that our Rod Lagusa covered in this report.
00:22A few days before December, Christmas can already be felt here at the historic Fort Santiago located in Intramuros.
00:28The Intramuros administration led tonight's event titled Christmas in the Walls.
00:33Intramuros has been witness to many seasons of our nation's history. It reminds us of the many trials that our nation has endured and the bright future that there is for the Filipino people.
00:51Among this is a lantern parade that started at Plaza Roma in front of Manila Cathedral and made its way here inside Fort Santiago.
00:58The lantern parade features colorful lanterns and because of this, everyone here can feel the approaching Christmas season even more.
01:05The lanterns were created by various sectors such as different agencies, companies, universities and groups.
01:11These lanterns represent their own interpretation of the Christmas celebration.
01:14Masaya po tayo dahil nabigyan yung ating mga kababayan na nandito sa Intramuros ng pagkakataon na magpakitanggilas, mapakita yung talent nila sa pagawa ng mga Christmas lanterns.
01:30And this really is a symbolic of the Filipino spirit. Joyful, hopeful and endlessly creative.
01:38In addition, there is also a choral competition tonight. Among the participants in the competition are students.
01:44Apart from the officials of the Intramuros administration, First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos and Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguasma grace the event.
