Tiger Woods Confirms What We All Suspected All Along

00:00Tiger Woods has made a name for himself as one of the best, if not the best, golfer ever to live.

00:06Unfortunately, his continued success in the sport was in serious doubt in February,

00:11after Woods suffered a horrible car crash in California. The crash took place in the early

00:16morning, and Woods suffered several injuries, with his legs taking the brunt of the impact.

00:21A post on his Twitter account featured a quote from Dr. Anish Mahajan, which reads in part,

00:27Mr. Woods suffered significant orthopedic injuries to his right lower extremity that

00:31were treated during emergency surgery by orthopedic trauma specialists.

00:36In May, Tiger opened up about the incident for the first time with Golf Digest,

00:40revealing that it had been a long and painful recovery so far. Woods told the outlet,

00:45This has been an entirely different animal. I understand more of the rehab processes

00:50because of my past injuries, but this was more painful than anything I have ever experienced.

00:55In a November 29, 2021 interview with the magazine, the champ spoke out about his

01:00post-accident career for the first time, and he didn't hold much back. Woods said,

01:04I can still participate in the game of golf. I can still, if my leg gets okay,

01:09I can still click off a tournament here or there. But as far as climbing the mountain again and getting

01:13all the way to the top, I don't think that's a realistic expectation of me.

01:17Unfortunately for Tiger fans, the golfer knows that his career will never be the same as it once was.

01:23He told Golf Digest,

01:24I think something that is realistic is playing the tour one day, never full-time, ever again,

01:29but pick and choose just like Mr. Ben Hogan did. Pick and choose a few events a year,

01:33and you play around that. He also shared that while it's an unfortunate reality,

01:37he knows that it's his reality, adding,

01:40And I understand it, and I accept it. Luckily, Woods seems to have a good mentality,

01:44and he's seemingly accepted this outcome, which is one of the hardest parts.

01:48Tiger Woods may not have had his career start winding down in the way he envisioned,

01:52but he's just grateful to be alive. In one of his first press conferences since

01:57suffering his devastating leg injury, Woods revealed,

02:00I'm lucky to be alive and also have a limb.

02:03The golf great also shared that there was a time that he thought his leg would have to be amputated,

02:08but thanks to the hard work that he put in, he was able to avoid it.

02:11Just to be immobile for three months, just lay there, and I was just looking forward to just

02:18getting outside.

02:19Woods continued to say,

02:21That was a goal of mine, especially for a person who lived his entire life outside,

02:25that was a goal.

02:26Woods is not expected to be a full-timer on the PGA Tour Junket, but he still tries to play as

02:31often as he's able, even though his game isn't the same as it once was. He said,

02:36To see some of my shots fall out of the sky a lot shorter than they used to is a little eye-opening,

02:40but at least I'm able to do it again.

02:42Fans of Tiger Woods are thrilled that he's back in the game,

02:45even though it may not be in the same capacity as it once was.

02:49In late November, the golfer shared a photo of himself sitting in a golf cart and smiling

02:53for the camera to Instagram. He wrote,

02:55Looking forward to a great week at Albany for the Hero World Challenge.

03:00Within seconds, fans flocked to the comments section to welcome Woods back with open arms.

03:05One of the biggest brands in golf, TaylorMade, commented, quote,

03:08Well, this just made our day. Several other fans simply dropped a line to welcome him back.

03:13Looking great, boss, one fan exclaimed. Another wrote, quote,

03:16Awesome to see you on your feet. We don't know what the future holds for Woods,
