00:00Snow swallowed the Glen Highway that night, burying the world under white silence.

00:04Leo's truck crawled forward, tires slipping on the frozen road,

00:46The twins didn't move, didn't flinch, didn't even blink.

00:51Leo's shaking fingers reached for the high beams.

00:53When the brighter light hit them, his stomach dropped.

00:58Their shadows stretched across the snow, in opposite directions.

01:02One shadow pointed behind them.

01:04The other pointed toward the truck.

01:06That wasn't possible.

01:08One light source.

01:10Two bodies.

01:11Shadows should fall the same way.

01:13Achia ran up Leo's spine that wasn't from the cold.

01:17He cracked the window a little.

01:18Hey, are you kids okay?

01:22Where are your parents?

01:24Both children slowly turned their heads toward him, perfectly in sync, like mirrored puppets.

01:30Their mouths opened.

01:31Leo waited for a sound, a scream, anything.

01:35But what came out was worse.

01:38Warm breath.

01:40Visible in the icy air.

01:42From two mouths, but for clouds.

01:46Behind them, two more shapes exhaled.

01:49Leo's heartbeat slammed against his ribs.

01:51The children stepped closer.

01:53Not walking, but sliding forward across the snow without leaving footprints.

01:57The shadows behind them twitched.

01:59Then began crawling along the snow on their own like living, hungry things.

02:05Nope, nope.

02:05Leo slammed the truck in reverse.

02:08The twins' faces twisted.

02:10Stretching too wide.

02:11Skin cracking like thin ice.

02:13Their shadows broke free from their feet entirely.

02:16Rushing toward the truck faster than the children themselves.

02:20Leo floored the gas.

02:21Fishtailing wildly until the shadows disappeared from view.

02:25He didn't stop driving until he reached Anchorage.

02:27Shaking so violently, he couldn't speak.

02:30When he looked at the truck the next morning,

02:32it found long fin handprints melted into the ice on the back doors.

02:36Child-sized.

02:37And two sets of footprints leading away,

02:40even though he had never opened the doors.

02:41And three sets of footprints leading to the water.

02:42And a dot.

02:42So COLOW-sized.
