00:00The C2 Sky Highway was almost empty that night, except for the hiss of rain slicing across Avery's
00:05windshield. She was driving back from Whistler, exhausted, her eyes burning from hours on the
00:11road. The storm clouds hung low, swallowing the moonlight, turning the mountains into black jaws
00:17on either side. That's when she first saw him. A lone figure stood on the shoulder of bulky
00:23paka who'd pulled low over his face, one arm raised in a beckoning wave. Avery slowed out
00:28of instinct. No one deserved to be stranded out here in this weather. But the moment her foot
00:33touched the brake, something felt wrong. The figure wasn't moving properly. His arm didn't sway with
00:39the storm. It was as if the rain flowed straight through him. She blinked. And he vanished. Avery's
00:50heart kicked hard against her ribs. She scanned the highway no thing but rain and asphalt. She
00:55exhaled shakily and continued driving, telling herself fatigue was playing tricks on her.
01:00Two minutes later, she glimpsed him again. Same parka. Same wave. Only tease time. It was closer,
01:09much closer standing on the white line at the road's edge. Avery gripped the wheel tighter and kept
01:13driving, refusing to slow down. Her rearview mirror flickered. The hooded figure was no longer on the
01:21road. He was inside, the mirror standing in the backseat's reflection. Motionless. Dripping. His
01:27hood still covering his face. Avery choked on a scream, swiping the mirror with her hand. Nothing
01:33changed. He stayed there and moving, lurking behind a reflection like a shadow that didn't belong to her
01:39car. Then the whisper came. It thudded through the cabin like wet breath against glass.
01:44Stop! The car! Avery slammed her foot on the accelerator. The engine wailed. The road twisted
01:52dangerously, but she didn't care. The whisper came again, louder, crawling through her ears. Stop.
02:01The car! The mirror cracked from the inside spiderweb fractures, spreading as if something
02:06behind the glass was pushing out. Avery didn't stop until she reached a gas station near Squamish.
02:11She flung herself out, trembling, screaming for help. When the clerk followed her to the car,
02:17the mirror was shattered, but embedded in the web of cracks, was a reflection. A hooded parker figure,
02:24still, waiting, smiling under the shadow of his hood.
