00:04In 2019, 18-year-old Lauren was working at a construction job in Great Falls, Montana,

00:09when suddenly his life changed in a single horrifying moment.

00:13The forklift he was operating veered off a bridge, plunging approximately 50 feet,

00:17and crushed his lower body beneath the machine.

00:20The impact shattered his pelvis, mangled his right arm, and destroyed everything below his waist.

00:25After arriving at the hospital, doctors told him that unless they amputated virtually

00:29the entire lower half of his body and part of his arm, he would die.

00:33He made the heart-wrenching decision to live.

00:35The result was a rare and radical surgery, removing his legs, pelvis, and part of his right arm.

00:41Recovery was brutal.

00:42Lauren underwent dozens of surgeries, faced infections, and fought excruciating pain.

00:47At one point, he revealed he needed a fecal transplant to restore his gut health
