00:57So, there actually wasn't a whole lot of anything other than
01:00we're so excited to, you know,
01:03spend more time with these characters in this world we love.
01:06What story should we tell?
01:08And we really wanted to focus on this dynamic,
01:11this relationship between Nick and Judy.
01:13They just met each other in the first film.
01:16They cracked a case in 48 hours.
01:18Now what?
01:19When you have all these body cop films,
01:25when the time comes for a sequel,
01:27they usually arrive at the we're tight era,
01:30you know, like now we're brothers,
01:31we bonded in the last one,
01:32but you guys kept on going with the whole,
01:35this is an ongoing work,
01:37a work in progress,
01:38not just with their relationship,
01:40but everybody's relationship to everybody.
01:42It was like a therapy fest.
01:45We need therapy.
01:46We do need therapy.
01:47I think all of us need therapy.
01:48It's true.
01:49It's true.
01:49We need it.
01:51And we're therapists for each other.
01:52But I think, you know,
01:53we really looked at what the best sequels
01:55that we've seen in the past
01:56really keep the dynamics mixed up.
01:59Like you break up teams,
02:00you kind of throw things at characters
02:02that they haven't had to deal with before
02:03because I think the growth
02:05is what people really love to see.
02:07We don't want to see Nick and Judy stop.
02:09La relación de Nick y Judy
02:11no solo se pone a prueba.
02:12La película nos presenta
02:13más residentes de Zootopia
02:15y a pesar de ser animales,
02:17refleja muy de cerca temas
02:18sobre discriminación,
02:19guerra y gobierno
02:21que vemos en las noticias,
02:22obviamente bajo toneladas de humor.
02:24Aquí lo tienen.
02:26Zootopia tiene una población secreta de reptiles.
02:29Déjenme lidiar con los lugareños.
02:31Please guide me through the politics of Zootopia.
02:34These really fun animals
02:35allow us to hold a mirror up to human nature.
02:39It's a story that applies today
02:41as it did five years ago,
02:4310 years ago, 20 years ago.
02:44There's something that we fall into
02:46as human beings
02:47where when we see someone
02:49who is different than we are,
02:51it makes us nervous.
02:53We have mammals and reptiles
02:54and we wanted to parallel that.
02:55So I think as you're watching the story,
02:57what you'll see everywhere
02:58are these parallels to
03:00either characters that are very different
03:02or very similar
03:03and what does that mean?
03:04And that's something that Nick and Judy
03:05have to work through.
03:07The humor is so on point.
03:09Like the puns are intended and plenty
03:12and you have the gags
03:13and you have witty humor,
03:15tongue and cheek humor.
03:17The timing, you know,
03:18for not being real people,
03:19the timing,
03:20the comedy timing,
03:21it's awesome.
03:22Well, these guys live in puns.
03:27Constantly.
03:29Constantly.
03:29It's 700 people worked on this movie.
03:32And so what you're hearing
03:35is all of those ideas
03:37and the best idea always wins.
03:40And then we have
03:41the greatest editing staff in the world.
03:44We're going literally frame by frame
03:46and making sure that all that timing
03:48is exactly what it needs to be.
03:50That's the specificity.
03:51I hope to be one of those people
03:53pretty soon.
03:54Yeah, come on out.
03:55Let's do it.
03:57That's right.
03:57That's a formal invitation.
03:59Guys, thank you very much for your time.
04:01Really.
04:02Thank you very much.
04:02Thank you so much.
04:03Great to talk to you.
