At the 'Thunderbolts*' premiere, Sebastian Stan chats with THR and describes which era he thinks was the hardest for his character Bucky. Plus, he talks about the fun he had working with the cast.

00:00So your ability to build relationships, whether it's Paul Walter Houser, Anthony Mackie, Don Saladino, you're famously amicable.

00:07What was it like to work with...

00:09Yes, I still believe in people, even though it's getting harder.

00:15They're trying to show otherwise.

00:17Certainly, yeah, but I'm optimistic still, yeah.

00:21So what was it like to play in a role where you have to be at odds with people you love so publicly

00:25when there's such a vibe of bromance in so many projects and the ability to blend with others

00:29and then here you have to be at odds and focus on the mental health of things

00:32but have that animosity and aggression?

00:36Well, it's always funny, right, when there's that dynamic with people like these characters, right,

00:42because technically are they villains, are they heroes or not, where do they stand,

00:46which is what Bucky Barnes is, essentially.

00:48He's always been trying to figure it out, and they are too.

00:52But in terms of the bromance, I mean, Wyatt Russell and David Harbour are very funny.

00:59people, and they're really easy to work with, unlike some other people, like Anthony Mackie,

01:06who, you know, keeps me on my toes.

01:11Internet antagonist.

01:13Yeah, but it was such a great group, like literally, and so it was really easy,

01:19and I mean, watching Julia Louis-Dreyfus every day on set was super fun,

01:23and being, growing up such a huge Seinfeld fan, and so it was fun, it was great.

01:28And briefly, White Wolf's obviously the most relaxed, but what was more stressful,

01:31dealing with the Thunderbolts, being a congressman, or the whole brainwashing timing?

01:36Like, what's the hardest era for Bucky?

01:38Oh, I feel like the hardest era for Bucky, for now, has passed, I want to say.

01:46I think those brainwashing days were a little bit more intense for him.

01:50I feel now it's a little bit, I always thought of Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven

01:56when I was approaching this movie.

01:58It's sort of like the older guy that's like, been there, done that,

02:03so, you know, take it from me, kid, kind of thing.

02:05That's where the sense of humor was coming from,

02:07but it would be interesting to see what people feel, you know.

02:10Well, Don's Winter Soldier thing broke me, so I appreciate you surviving it, man.

02:13Dude, thank you for doing it.

02:15Dude, absolutely, man. Beautiful thing.
