01:00Next, after Universal Pictures touted the success of releasing Trolls World Tour on demand, AMC Theaters,
01:06the world's largest cinema chain, says it will no longer play any of the studio's films.
01:11NBC Universal CEO Jeff Schell told The Wall Street Journal,
01:14the results for Trolls World Tour have exceeded our expectations and demonstrated the viability
01:19of PVOD. As soon as theaters reopen, we expect to release movies on both formats."
01:24In a strongly worded letter to Universal Film Entertainment Group chairman Donna Langley,
01:28AMC Theaters chair and CEO Adam Aron wrote,
01:31It is disappointing to us, but Jeff's comments as to Universal's unilateral actions and intentions
01:36have left us with no choice. Therefore, effective immediately, AMC will no longer play
01:42any Universal movies in any of our theaters in the United States, Europe, or the Middle East.
01:47It didn't take long for Universal to respond. The studio issued a statement saying it remains
01:51dedicated to moviegoing and that Shell's comments were misconstrued. And on a more serious note,
01:56a Bollywood legend has died. THR's Neha Joy has more.
02:00Bollywood actor Irfan Khan has sadly died at the age of 53.
02:05Indian media has reported that Khan died on Wednesday in the entertainment capital of Mumbai
02:09after being admitted to the hospital for a colon infection earlier this week.
02:13The veteran actor was diagnosed with a high-grade neuroendocrine cancer in March of 2018
02:18and spent time in London being treated for the rare form of cancer before returning to work last year.
02:23In a career that spanned over 30 years, Khan was a prolific Bollywood actor and television star
02:28famous for his range and intensity within his roles.
