00:00Hey guys, it's Simon. I'm a Sony recording artist and I co-host my show on Sirius XM Hits 1
00:06called Hits 1 in Hollywood. I'm getting ready to put out my single, I Never Do, which comes out on
00:12Friday. The song is about a relationship that I was in, but it was the guy who seemed perfect.
00:25He had everything perfect, you know, the job, he's stable, he loves me, he's there for me.
00:33Everything that someone would want, it's there. But the guy that I wasn't getting enough from,
00:39the guy that really got me going, was the guy that I was thinking of when I was with the guy
00:44that was supposed to be supposedly perfect. And I feel like we can all relate to that in life, right?
00:48And so there's a line in my song where I'm saying when I'm with the good guy, I'm thinking of the
00:54bad guy and what brings me back to that. So I thought, so Grizz was like, you know, you could
00:58have a guy in the video and make it like that have two guys, like, you know, A, the good guy,
01:03B, the bad guy. But we thought that would be kind of just kind of cliche. And we thought,
01:09what could we do that would be cooler? Because it is my, it's my first music video. So we actually
01:13instead made it so it's like a psychological trip through my brain of my good side versus my bad side.
01:19It's pop, but it's like pop on its side is what I say. It's pop off center. It has R&B influences in
01:28there. And it also has some EDM house stuff as well. It's about my 20s. It's my journey in my 20s.
01:35Because in the last year, you know, I grew up in LA. So it was easy for me to live with my parents here.
01:40So I was like, no, you know what, it's time to move out. So it's been about this journey of living
01:46on my own for the first time, moving out, relationships, dating, friends, just what people
01:54don't tell you is being in your 20s is really hard. It's so difficult. You're like, you're trying
02:01to find yourself, you're trying to like, make, you know, your name in the world. And people don't
02:07necessarily take you seriously. Yet you're an adult and people don't tell you that. And I'm
02:11like, no, I'm telling you it's hard. And this journey isn't easy. There's so many incredible
02:15moments and so many lows. Um, there might be, I'm not going to say, but I also can say one other
02:23thing. I can say that I have a feature coming out, um, probably about a month after I never
02:29do. It's with an incredible artist named London Future. I wrote it with London and I also co-wrote
02:34it with my executive producer, Gino Barletta and, um, it's coming out on ultra. So that's
02:40going to be really sick. So get ready for that too. Okay. Steve Aoki has become my good
02:46homie. I'm obsessed with him. He like was like, yo, you want to come to a show? Before
02:53I knew it, I was on stage with him. Oh my God. I was like, hell yeah. And then we were
02:58at a club one night and he was like, Simon's on the stage. Like just like so many crazy stories.
03:04Um, just have a lot of friends now that are, you know, really cool artists that I look up
03:09too. And it's just awesome.
