00:00Marvel television head Jeff Loeb is out at the comic book powerhouse after nearly a decade-long run.
00:05Sources say Loeb has been working on a transition plan to exit the company and is expected to formally announce his departure by Thanksgiving.
00:12Those same sources note that Loeb had been prepping to leave well before the October 15th news that Kevin Feige had been elevated to Marvel's chief creative officer.
00:21Marvel declined to comment. Loeb, of course, steered Marvel into live-action scripted TV originals with ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
00:27People fantasize about doing something heroic in times like these.
00:33In his decade at the helm of Marvel TV, Loeb was responsible for a number of broadcast, basic cable, and streaming scripted originals,
00:40including the groundbreaking five-show Netflix deal for one larger connected Marvel world featuring Daredevil,
00:46Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and the mashup miniseries The Defenders.

00:59While Loeb has been able to get shows on the air, few have managed to break through the clutter
01:04in the crowded peak TV landscape featuring 500 scripted shows.
01:08As for Feige, with his promotion, he now oversees the creative direction of the company's content creation,
01:13including publishing, film, animation, and TV.
01:16And while Feige successfully led Marvel's film unit to its first Best Picture Oscar nom for Black Panther,
01:21and its record-breaking Avengers Endgame box office return, Loeb's TV efforts didn't prove nearly as successful.
