00:07U.S. conservative influencer and podcaster Candace Owens has accused French President

00:12Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte of paying for her assassination in what she called an

00:18urgent ex-statement, which has garnered more than 40 million views.

00:22Owens has been leading the international fake news campaign which alleges that Brigitte

00:26Macron is in fact a man, leading the Macrons to file a defamation suit against her in July

00:322025. The conservative influencer provided no credible evidence to uphold her statements,

00:38alleging that a high-ranking employee of the French government had contacted her, revealing

00:42all. The person supposedly revealed that the green light for the operation had been handed

00:46to a small team in the elite tactical unit of the French National Gendarmerie and one

00:51Israeli national. The Gendarmerie's unit has denounced these allegations as fake news

00:56in media reports. Owens also brought Xavier Poussard, another key figure pushing conspiracy theories

01:01about Brigitte Macron being a man, into the picture, claiming that he was also at risk

01:06of being killed. Owens went on to state that Tyler Robinson, suspected of having killed the

01:11conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a rally in Utah in September, had trained with

01:15the French Foreign Legion. The allegation gained further traction after Telegram's controversial

01:20owner Pavel Durov described the allegations as plausible. But a spokesperson for France's

01:25Ministry of Armed Forces told Euronews that Robinson has never been a member of the Foreign

01:30Legion. Here Owens accused the French Foreign Legionnaires of involvement in Charlie Kirk's

01:34assassination, stating that after the French Legion and US Marines carried out a joint training

01:39exercise in California, they held another one in Minnesota, as state Kirk was due to visit

01:45later on his tour. The French Armed Forces told us that there was no Foreign Legion training

01:50in Minnesota in the period Owens claimed.
