00:00Sir, what made you become an IAF pilot, from an IAF pilot to an astronaut of ISS?
00:08No specific thought, actually I was serving as a test pilot when this opportunity opened up
00:13and I don't think there was any deliberate thought at that point of time.
00:16It was a very instinctive decision, I think everybody's dream is to extend sky to space
00:21and I think when that opportunity opened up I immediately applied.
00:24If I'm not wrong, your training was planned in the US, Russia and India.
00:29So what was the toughest part?
00:32It is challenging, the training is challenging and we have been training since 2020.
00:36We have trained in Russia, then we came back to India, we were training here and then we went to the US.
00:41Training is achieving the similar objective, preparing people to go to space
00:45but they are being done in a different way in every place.
00:47So there are some differences but overall the objective is same.
00:50What was the toughest day that you have been there in ISS?
00:54I think the first few days are challenging because your body is not feeling good, you are not feeling good
00:59and you have to work because you are there for short duration.
01:03So first two to three days were quite challenging but after that your body gets used to the space environment
01:08so it becomes okay.
01:09What is the suggestion you want to give to the youngsters, especially Genji?
01:14My suggestion to them is to be excited, be curious.
01:18I think India is on its path of space journey.
01:21It is going to be very glorious and a big contributor towards the dream of Viksit Bharat 2047.
01:26So my message to the youth is to be excited and be a part of this and actively participate in this
01:31and not just think that it is somebody else's job.
01:34Assume the responsibility and think that this is my job.
01:37I have to take India from here to being Viksit Bharat 2047.
