00:00Hello, one, two, did you test this already?
00:05Okay.
00:08Okay.
00:14Yeah, I don't need it, but I think some other Mary Ellen is going to say something.
00:18She's pretty short, so I think this will be good.
00:21I don't mind coming up.
00:23Yeah.
00:26All right.
00:31So tell me your name again.
00:32Linda.

00:47Two, two, two.
01:00Should he be waiting outside to know when do you get, when do people know to come in?

01:52Just say, sit down.
01:54Thank you for being here.
01:56Thank you, but don't say anything.
01:58I'll give them your hand in the hand.
02:00I've seen them walking through their seats.
02:02That's what an usher does.
02:04All right, that's all right.
02:06You're all right.
02:16It's not in the way.
02:18Oh, you're so good.
02:20Hey, friends.
02:22You're good.
02:24Here we go.
02:26Here we go.
02:28Here we go.
02:30Three together because there's only one of these.
02:46Here we go.
02:48Three together because there's only one of these.
02:50Here we go.
02:52Three together because there's only one of these.
02:54Here we go.
03:02Two together because there's only one of these.
04:40Hello.
04:44Hi.
04:46What's your name?
04:48What's your name?
04:50Mike?
04:52Nice to meet you.
04:54Do you know Mr. Mondo?
04:58Yes, Mr. Mondo.
05:00When you're down reading things, if I could ask them back, is that where I'm from?
05:04Enjoy or not enjoy them?
05:06You take a seat in a room.
05:08I told them you're down reading.
05:10Did you give me that exactly?
05:16Bring me property board.
05:22Hey.
05:24Thank you so much.
05:26Thanks.
05:28Thanks, Nathan.
05:29Just like the stand.
05:30Thanks.
05:31What are you going to do, right?
05:32I'm going to have you walk.
05:34I got to walk twice.
05:35Okay?
05:36Because you are the usher.
05:37This is on the slowdown.
05:38It's on the slowdown.
05:39It's on the slowdown.
05:40It's on the slowdown.
05:41Imagine we're on that kind of way.
05:42Okay?
05:43I'm the man of honor.
05:44It's okay.
05:45Hey.
05:46Wait.
05:47Stop.
05:48Here.
05:49It's no way.
05:50Imagine we're on that kind of way.
05:51It's okay?
05:52Hey.
05:53Hey.
05:54Wait.
05:55We'll stop.
05:56You.
05:58It's okay?
05:59Thank you so much for being here.
06:13ladies...
06:14I'll try again.
06:46I want you to introduce me because I'm the master of ceremonies.
06:56Okay.
06:57So just thank you all for being here, and now to begin the ceremony, I remind Edgar, Giamato's son, if I'd like to start the ceremony.
07:13Welcome to the Giamato's stage.
07:16I am here.
07:18I am master of ceremony.
07:21I'm the master of ceremonies, new Heidecker, and welcome me up here.
07:28All right.
07:41Thank you, everybody.
07:43Thank you for being here.
07:45I wish we were here under different circumstances, but we are here today to remember the life and celebrate the life of Gabriel Giamato.
07:57And it's been very difficult, but today is about trying to shine a light on and remember the great life he had and not wallow in thinking about him passing away.
08:11I need a program, Mark, because the first thing we're going to do is sing a hymn, one of Giamato's favorite songs from church, and I need a program.
08:21I was not given a program.
08:23If you open your program to page one or two, I guess, right there in the, if you can open it.
08:33This is Be Not Afraid by, or this is Be Not Afraid.
08:38You shall cross the barren desert, but you shall not die of thirst.
09:02You shall wander far safely, though you do not know the way.
09:14You shall speak your words in foreign lands, and all will understand.
09:27You shall see the face of God by living.
09:39Be not afraid.
09:46I go before you always.
09:52Come, follow me, and I will give you rest.
10:05If you pass, if you pass, if you pass through raging waters in the sea, you shall not drown down.
10:19If you walk amid the burning flames, you shall not be found.
10:32If you stand before the power of hell, and death is at your sight.
10:45Be Not Afraid by, or this is not...
10:47When I leave you alone.
10:48When I leave you alone.
10:57Be not afraid.
10:59Be not afraid.
11:00I go before you always.
11:13All right, thank you very much.
11:32Can you turn the music off, please?
11:33We don't have the third verse here.
11:36All right, thank you.
11:38That was beautiful.
11:43Yes, so we have a short video tribute to Mr. Amato that we would like to play right now.
13:46All right.
13:56right all right next in the program we have a video message from a friend of
14:07mr. models a friend of ours who was recently deported to his home country of
14:11Italy his name is Manuel from the band to car and DKR he made a generous video
14:20contribution to the ceremony today so this is Manuel from DKR
14:35I'm devastated this is Manuel Giusti and then I am in Italy right now I got
14:44deported for all the immigration crap and I just heard about the passing of Amato
14:50and I cannot express how devastated I am I can't believe such a good man God just
15:00passed away I just can't believe it it was like like a mental to me like we I
15:06just can't I remember all the talking about the Italian heritage when we're
15:12talking about Italian music and all the fun time that we spent together and I
15:17just can't get it out of my head I can't believe though such a great great man
15:23passed away I really wish I was be there I could be there with you guys much love
15:30to all of you guys and and I'm totally devastated I just can't believe it
15:42I just can't believe it
15:44so you want to say
15:46hello
16:02Hello?
16:07Kylie.
16:13Mr. Amato was a movie buff.
16:15He loved to talk about the golden days of Hollywood, and though he didn't collect movies themselves,
16:21he had a great collection of priceless movie memorabilia that I helped him locate.
16:28In fact, this suit is a piece of priceless movie memorabilia if you ever saw Decker.
16:32This is the original Kington the Codebreaker suit that we actually took out of storage for this funeral.
16:40Mr. Amato was also a movie producer, and it's regretful that the movie he produced, the Pep Boys story, has not yet come out.
16:50But one day it will.
16:53I was able to talk to Mr. Amato about movies on more than one occasion, and I have compiled for you here today a list of three movies that Mr. Amato loved that you should try to see in his memory.
17:05Make it two. We're not doing three movies.
17:08We're doing three movies that he loved.
17:11And if you can see these within 48 hours of his speech, that would be great in memory of Mr. Amato.
17:20Number one.
17:22The Ten Commandments.
17:24Now, this movie is not just a popcorn classic, it's a Guinness Book Record holder as one of the ten longest movies of all time, and it's only one minute shorter than Gone with the Wind.
17:35Mr. Amato owned a priceless prop from the Ten Commandments, a sandal that he treasured, and that some of the residents at Grand Terrace were lucky enough to see in person.
17:46Mr. Amato also owned the famous can of soup from the Ma and Pa Kettle movies, which sadly, due to his own fault, not due to any prop master, anyone associated with the Pep Boys movie, Mr. Amato ate, which was not the best.
18:04I am to litigate that.
18:05Okay.
18:06Anyway, no.
18:07Don't bring up...
18:08... Dog bring up...
18:09...ate the soup, which was not the best thing to do.
18:10Double мат even at the memorial service, please...
18:11...do not bring up a murder weapon at him, especially by the....delivered by the guy who delivered a weapon into my father's home.
18:19So, cut that shit out.
18:22I apologize.
18:23Continue.
18:24The...
18:25Basically, the soup should have been kept in a trophy case, not in the kitchen.
18:33Not in the kitchen. It should have been in a trophy case because it was a priceless collective.
18:36No, no. Okay. Number two, The Searchers, starring John Wayne from True Grit, which he won the Oscar for.
18:55Mr. Amato loved westerns and had pretty good knowledge of them, not VFA level, but definitely worthy of the title of true blue movie buff.
19:03He definitely knew a lot more movies about, a lot more about movies than Tim, his son, who doesn't have basic knowledge on the subject of movies.
19:13The Searchers is 119 Minutes and co-stars Natalie Wood from Rebel Without a Cause, which also starred James Dean from Decker vs. Dracula.
19:29Number three, The Switch. This was from 2010, so a lot more recent. Mr. Amato liked newer films as well as old ones.
19:40And this one starred Jennifer Aniston. And I actually loaned it to him recently.
19:45We were in the process of dubbing it from DVD to video because it hadn't come out at video because it came out five or six years after they stopped manufacturing videos.
19:56But I loaned it to him at Grand Terrace and he asked what it was about and I said, don't ask, just watch.
20:00It's a popcorn classic, which is all you need to know. You should definitely see it and you should all see The Switch. It's very cool.
20:08Anyway, he died just a couple days after that conversation.
20:11I don't know if he saw it or not, but he would have loved it.
20:16And when you see it, you'll love it too.
20:19It also stars Jason Bateman from Teen Wolf 2 and Jason Bateman from Zootopia 2, which comes out this week.
20:31And Zootopia 2 is a great sequel, even better than the original.
20:34Same characters teaming up once again to solve another case.
20:40And it also has a Macaulay Culkin in it from Macaulay Culkin.
20:52Home Alone. Thank you, Kylie.
20:55Very cool. Five bags of popcorn.
20:58I asked you not to review that movie.
21:00I want to apologize for that breach in decorum and the disrespect that you showed Mr. Amato here up on this dais
21:24was extreme and unprofessional and not something anybody here wants.
21:32I normally would be reviewing movies with you, but this is not the week for that.
21:40I asked you not to bring up the Zootopia review because there's always time for that in other forums.
21:47Not here. Not today.
21:52And for you to be specific about how he passed away, with the details that you colored to make it sound like you have no responsibility for this,
22:03is also not welcome.
22:05And I showed a lot of grace and dignity and humility by giving you the platform to speak on him because of your relationship with him,
22:14and you abused it.
22:18And there's a lot of blame to go around, and I will ask Mark to escort you out of here if you continue.
22:26Mark?
22:26That's the warning.
22:31No, just that's your warning.
22:35But he loved the Ten Commandments, and he would have wanted that.
22:37I agree.
22:39All right.
22:40We want to keep this moving.
22:43Speaking of Mark, we have an opportunity.
22:49You know, this is coming out of my pocket, this day of celebration.
22:54And Mark, if you have the basket, if you want.
22:57This is a show.
23:00We appreciate anything you guys want to contribute to the services today.
23:05And we also are planning a memorial plaque or something.
23:12We're not sure what we're going to do.
23:13We've got to talk to the family about that.
23:14But Mark's going to pass around a gift basket.
23:17And if anyone has anything to put in there, we would appreciate it.
23:24All right.
23:29We're going to ask a friend of Risa, a new friend of G, to come on up here while this is going out, going on.
23:39Thank you so much.
23:45We're going to ask Mary Ellen to come up and read a passage from Scripture.
23:48Let's go.
24:06Giamato was with us at Grand Terrace for a short time.
24:11But he made friends with everyone and was an avid participant in the Sunday afternoon Bible discussion group.
24:23As we pray and trust that a soul finds peace in God's heavenly embrace,
24:32we give thanks for the blessing of having known Mr. Amato.
24:37Now, I would like to share a couple of verses with you now.
24:50Daniel 12 to 3.
24:54Everyone whose name is found written in the book will be delivered.
25:03Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake.
25:08Some to everlasting life.
25:12Others to shame and everlasting contempt.
25:17Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of heavens.
25:23Psalms 144, 11.
25:30Rid me and deliver me from the hand of strange children whose mouth speaketh vanity and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
25:43Proverbs 18, 2.
25:45Fools find no pleasure in understanding, but delight in airing their own opinions.
25:57Wisdom 3, 1, 6.
25:59But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and the torment of death shall not touch them.
26:11In the sight of the unwise, they seem to die, and their departure was taken for misery.
26:18And they're going away from us for utter destruction.
26:24But they are in peace.
26:30Okay.
26:31And though in the sight of men they suffered torments, their hope is full of immortality.
26:45Afflicted in few things, in many they shall be well rewarded, because God hath tried them, and found them worthy of himself.
27:00I am sorry for you.
27:01No.
27:02Hallelujah.
27:03I am fine for you.
27:19Bye.
27:23Bye.
27:26Thank you very much, Mary Elm.
27:35I was working with Grok yesterday on a speech, and I couldn't get it there.
27:42I couldn't put down into words what I wanted to say today in a written form.
27:46And I thought I better just speak from the heart and tell you all how much he means to me and riff this because I think that's going to be a more heartfelt way of expressing how I feel today and have felt for a long time and will feel forever.
28:07A lot of you guys know, a lot of people from Grand Terrace know that I've been spending more and more time with G and you guys beyond just our filming of the show.
28:25And one of the great bonding moments that we've had in the past few weeks has been arts night, I guess, arts and crafts night.
28:34And G and I would talk and draw and draw and talk all night long.
28:44I knew I was creative, but I didn't know I was creative in that way that you express yourselves through that visual arts.
28:53And I had no idea that G held in him that creativity.
28:57And I wanted to just start just say a few things about what we were working on literally two days before he died from the way he died.
29:11And we don't have to get into the details.
29:13But we were we had started talking about these characters and we were imagining a whole world of characters.
29:22That would be for children and children of all ages, but specifically children.
29:28And we were talking about doodling and the idea of doodling and how good doodling is for your soul.
29:35Chicken soup for the soul.
29:37But as doodling, drawing.
29:39And we were playing around.
29:42I'll just show you guys a couple of characters.
29:45This is Sam.
29:45This is I basically G drew this and then I he drew a version of Sam and then I drew a version of Sam.
29:55It's kind of a combo.
29:56But this is Sam.
29:59And I always when I see this now, I see G and maybe we'll call him G or Gabriel.
30:06And then I drew Cloud and Cloud would be in the show would be probably sort of a more of a mystical character.
30:17I'm not sure.
30:18Some sort of a like a hippie.
30:20And then we talked about there being kind of in those worlds, those kind of shows, almost like in Star Trek, you have the sort of Sam would be Kirk.
30:32And then somebody like Baxter we have here would be more like the voice of reason, like Dr. Spock or Mr. Spock.
30:41Anyways.
30:43And then Mel sort of comic relief.
30:45I'm not sure who that almost looks like Mark.
30:48But I don't know who would do the voice.
30:49I don't know if this would even be this could be a storybook or I don't know what it will be.
30:53Anyways.
30:56It's been so helpful to be able to think about these characters because they are my link to dad.
31:02They are.
31:03They're the thing that we love doing together is coming up with stories for the doodle dots.
31:07We're calling them the doodle dots for now.
31:10That might change.
31:10But it is a it is an interesting world if you think about it or if, you know, we something that we would develop together.
31:18But won't because he's gone.
31:20But I want to carry that torch into the future.
31:24And I want to thank everybody for showing up and getting dressed.
31:27Everyone looks great.
31:28And thank you for arranging for transport for everybody.
31:32Let's see if there was anything else I want to touch on.
31:45I should have definitely should have made.
31:50Now I'm thinking I should have made a note.
31:51Let me see if there is anything in Grok.
31:54Because I did supposed to save your notes.
31:58Yeah, here we go.
31:58Friends and family were honored.
32:00We are.
32:00This is what I started.
32:01We are honored.
32:02We are here to honor a remarkable man.
32:03My father.
32:04He was a beacon of kindness.
32:06Always ready with a laugh or a helping hand.
32:09His love for us was unwavering.
32:11And though he's gone, his wisdom and warmth live on.
32:14And every story we share and every life he touched.
32:17Rest in peace, dad.
32:18We'll carry you in our hearts forever.
32:21All right.
32:22I guess the only thing I want to add to that is, you know, I don't know where I go from here because, you know, G was the only man that ever really believed in me.
32:49And maybe the only man who ever, you know, really loved me.
32:54And I don't, you know, I don't know.
32:59I don't know what that says about me.
33:03But he's gone and he ain't coming back.
33:07Speaking of that, I got a new song I wrote for dad.
33:16And I think we'll take a look at that now.
33:20Daddy's Gone.
33:21Daddy's Gone.
33:24Daddy's Gone
33:25Up to heaven
33:27I can see him
33:30Waking by
33:32Flying past the snow
33:42White clouds
33:44Passed
33:45Up into the beautiful sky
33:49Daddy's Gone
34:00Daddy's Gone
34:01Up to heaven
34:02Brace my heart
34:02To see him
34:03Go
34:04Buildias
34:11But he's a big paradise
34:16Sic and wreak
34:17I'll do this
34:18I
34:19No
34:20No
34:22No
34:22No
34:23No
34:23No
34:23No
34:24No
34:25Jesus
34:30Everyone can sing this part of me.
35:00I'm talking cheap, oh, Eddie.
35:12Damn, I don't go cheap, oh, Eddie.
35:19Damn, I don't go cheap, oh, Eddie.
35:26Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
35:30Bye, bye, bye, bye, daddy, goodbye.
35:37Bye, bye, bye, bye, daddy, goodbye.
35:42Bye, bye.
35:44Bye, bye.
35:46Bye, bye.
35:48Bye, bye.
35:50Bye, bye.
35:52Bye, bye.
35:54Bye, bye.
35:56Bye, bye.
35:58Bye, bye.
36:00Bye, bye.
36:02Bye, bye.
36:04Bye, bye.
36:06Bye, bye.
36:08Bye, bye.
36:10Bye, bye.
36:12Why, why you have to die?
36:24Why, why you have to die?
36:31Why, why you have to die?
36:36Oh, and die, die, die, die, die, die.
37:04Thank you, everybody.
37:05That was, I wish I had, you know, we're still working on the mix, but I could, Axe, I could
37:11hear a little harmony from you on there.
37:14It would be awesome.
37:15So I guess there's an elephant in the room here.
37:21As some of you guys may know, dad had a twin brother down in Argentina, and he's here today.
37:32I didn't know you were able to make it, but I would love if you wanted to say a few words
37:38about your brother.
37:39This would be a great time.
37:40So, okay, you do?
37:43Okay.
37:47Nice to meet you.
37:47Here's another one.
38:10We remember my brother Gabriel Amato, he was not only my brother, he was my brother.
38:18We were inseparable, and our mother wore the same clothes,
38:24which had a lot of sense, because we had to buy two pairs.
38:30We were also very united, but when we grew up and graduated in the university,
40:13Pero hoy estoy triste, me arrepiento muchÃsimo.
40:20Ojalá nunca hubiera venido.

42:39Anyone else very quickly?
42:42If anyone else has anything?
42:43I actually want to say something too.
42:46I just want to say I think it's sad.
42:49I think it's sad that a man who spent 40 years of his life here in the San
42:55Bernardino Valley, a man who was a respected member of this community, a
43:00man who had many good friends, ended up here. I'm sorry I don't know it's just
43:12you know if it was it was up to me there would be 300 people here. It's a good
43:16turnout. These are the people that care. You know you just you didn't listen to me
43:19G. You pushed people away and you didn't listen. All right well thank you very
43:25much Joey. Thank you. You've said your piece. No you know what you can go.
43:31Mark they're they're not welcome here so they can do what you're gonna do. Yeah
43:34why don't you leave. Thank you very much. You want you follow the other two that
43:40left. Thank you. Mark. Joey please. You don't want to be you know what you like
43:47you mark and I'm just gonna tell you right now stay where you are and don't
43:50come near me okay. Joey I think it's best. Kylie would you why don't you walk him
43:55out please. Shut your mouth shut your mouth. Oh here we go. Big tough guy. There
43:59he comes. Thank you. Thank you for leaving. Mark make sure they leave and make sure
44:03the door is locked. I'm leaving because I want to. I don't want to be here. Yeah well
44:06we don't want you here. Sorry I'm sorry everyone I apologize. Bye bye. Sorry
44:13everybody. Oh my god. Yeah make sure it's closed. Can it close? Can you make sure he
44:26doesn't come back in? We don't want you to be here Joey. Okay you weren't invited. I don't
44:34know how you found out about this but Mark I want him out. I don't want him on the
44:39premises. I apologize everybody. All right we're gonna wrap things up here. I got a
44:49little final song. If you guys don't mind I'm gonna transition over to the
44:54microphone here. And thank you again for being here. Thanks.
45:10All right.
45:24Time grabs you by the wrist. Directs you where you go. So make the best of this test. And don't ask
45:53why. It's not a question but less in landing time. Something unpredictable. In the end it's
46:05right. I hope you had the time of your life. So take the photograph that still frames in your mind. Hang on a shelf in good health and good time.
46:23I hope you had the time of your life.
46:25Tattoos and memories and dead skin on the track. For what it's worth it was worth all the while.
46:35For something, something, something unpredictable. In the end it's, but in the end it's right. I hope you had the time of your life.
46:53All right. Thank you everybody. All right. We're gonna have some. Mark, do you get the crackers out? Do you get the crackers out? We'll have the crackers out there and some sodas and everything out there if we want to meet out there in the lobby. Thanks for being here everybody.
47:15Let's go. Let's go. We got crackers out. Cheese and crackers and stuff.
47:39Let's go. Let's go. We got a half hour and we're gonna be out of here. Let's go.
47:46Let's go. Let's go.
