A new Schwab study shows investors rapidly shifting toward ETFs, with most users calling them essential and planning to boost allocations in the coming years. Millennials lead ETF adoption and show strong interest in crypto and alternative products, while Boomers remain more buy-and-hold oriented. Many investors say ETFs could soon dominate their entire portfolios.

00:07as a default portfolio vehicle, according to Benzinga. Schwab surveyed 2,000 experienced
00:13investors and found that 93% of ETF users view ETFs as necessary, and 75% plan to buy more in
00:20the next two years. Investors expect ETFs to account for 34% of portfolios within five years,
00:26rising from 27% today. Two-thirds of ETF investors began buying after 2020,
00:33and 62% say they would consider putting their entire portfolio in ETFs in 2025.
00:39Millennials allocate the largest share of their portfolios to ETFs and plan to increase that
00:44share, while also showing strong interest in crypto, alternatives, and specialty ETFs.
00:49They view themselves as tactical investors in contrast to Boomer's buy-and-hold approach,
