Reynolds posted a personal message as he commemorated Mental Health Awareness Month.
Transcript
00:00Ryan Reynolds is opening up about his struggle with anxiety in a personal message as he commemorates Mental Health Awareness Month.
00:07In a message posted to his social media, the Deadpool actor said he was late acknowledging the impact of the month because he overbooked himself with work, something he revealed he does in order to combat his anxiety.
00:19He wrote, I know I'm not alone, and more importantly, to all those like me who overschedule, overthink, overwork, overworry, and over everything, please know you are not alone.
00:30The actor continued, we don't talk enough about mental health, and we don't do enough to de-stigmatize talking about it.
00:36But as with this post, better late than never, I hope.
00:39Reynolds first opened up about his struggles with anxiety in a New York Times profile in 2018.
00:44At the time, he said, I have anxiety. I've always had anxiety.
00:48Both in the lighthearted, I'm anxious about this kind of thing, and I've been to the depths of the darker end of the spectrum, which is not fun.
