00:00In a small rainy village tucked between silent fields, people were used to storms, but not to the footsteps.

00:07Every monsoon night, someone or something walked on their mud roofs.

00:11The sound was always slow, heavy, like a grown man dragging his feet.

00:15And every time the families went outside to check, they found deep footprints on the roof.

00:20All facing backward, as if the walker had been looking straight into the house the whole time.

00:24Seema, a 17-year-old girl, never believed these stories.

00:28She laughed at them, even teased her brother, saying villagers loved drama.

00:33But one night, when the rain hit their small house like thousands of fingers tapping, Seema woke up to a strange thump.

00:39Then another.

00:40Then the unmistakable sound of footsteps above her bed.

00:43Thuck, thuck, her smile disappeared.

00:45The footsteps were slow, too slow, almost like they were waiting between each step.

01:21Her heart hammered, as both sounds suddenly stopped.

01:24Silence.

01:25Then slowly, her finger scratched the mud roof from above.

01:28Dragging across the ceiling, right above her face.

01:31Seema's eyes filled with tears.

01:34She grabbed her phone, and ran outside before her mother could stop her.

01:37The rain hit her skin like knives, but she didn't care.

01:40She looked up, at the roof and froze.

01:42There were footprints, everywhere.

01:44Deep, heavy ones.

01:46But all of them, were facing toward her.

01:48As if the person who made them had walked backward the entire time.

01:51As she stared in horror, fresh footprints began appearing in the wet mud on the rooftop, forming

01:59The last one stopped, at the edge.
