Killer Workout (originally titled Aerobicide)[1] is a 1987 American slasher film written and directed by David A. Prior, and starring Marcia Karr, David James Campbell, Fritz Matthews, Ted Prior, and Teresa Van der Woude. The story revolves around a Los Angeles fitness club owned by Rhonda Johnson, whose twin sister burned in a tanning salon five years ago. Detective Morgan begins to investigate the gym, after several of its members are brutally murdered by an unknown attacker.

Plot
A young model, Valerie, is burned in a tanning salon accident. Five years later, Valerie's twin sister Rhonda Johnson is operating a fitness club in Los Angeles. Rhonda chastises one of her employees, Jaimy, for missing an aerobics class she was supposed to lead. Shortly after, a killer brandishing a large safety pin enters the women's locker room and slashes Rachael, a client, to death. While closing the club, Jaimy finds her corpse stuffed in a locker, as well as a blood-soaked knitting needle in the locker of Diane Matthews. Detective Morgan is assigned to the murder case and questions Rhonda and Jaimy.

The next day, Chuck is unexpectedly hired by Rhonda's senior managing partner of the club. Chuck gets into a physical fight with patron Jimmy, which impresses club patron Debbie, Jimmy's ex-girlfriend. Later, Morgan learns that Diane's knitting needle was not the weapon used to kill Rachael. Later that night, a group of teenagers vandalize the club with spray paint, only to be brutally murdered by an unseen assailant.

The next day, Tom, a club patron whom Morgan has deemed a suspect, is murdered in the locker room, and later, Jaimy is found hanged inside the club. Rhonda harangues Morgan for her perceived ineffectiveness of his investigation. Morgan uncovers that Rhonda is in fact Valerie, who survived the tanning accident, and that she never had a twin sister—instead, she legally changed her name to Rhonda and has kept her badly-scarred body hidden with clothing and a wig. Morgan confronts Rhonda with his discovery, and she admits it, but remains stern and impervious to his assertion that she may be the murderer, killing out of jealousy.

00:17:24Get used to the name.
00:17:25You're going to see a lot of them.
00:17:26And if we have to go over this for another three hours, that is precisely what we will do.
00:17:34She was so pretty.
00:17:35Not anymore.
00:17:41How well did you know her?
00:17:45I didn't really.

00:36:58What for?
00:37:01Cathy, I was nervous.
00:37:02Give him a charge.
00:37:03Curtis, where are you?
00:37:33Curtis, where are you?
00:38:03Oh, my God.
00:38:33Oh, my God.
00:39:03Oh, my God.
00:39:33I'll see you later, Brad.
00:40:03What the hell?
00:40:33Wait!
00:40:40I didn't do it!
00:40:45So you just started working here yesterday, huh?
00:41:04Yeah, that's right, Lieutenant.
00:41:06Just a coincidence, I suppose, you got here in the middle of all this killing.
00:41:10I suppose.
00:41:12Why is it I don't believe you?
00:41:15I don't know. I always thought I had an honest face.
00:41:17You don't think it's because you laid this guy out like a pro, do you?
00:41:20Nah, that was easy.
00:41:22Right.
00:41:23I don't know what it is about you, but I'm gonna find out.
00:41:29You count on it.
00:41:31It's okay, Tommy.
00:41:32It's okay.
00:41:33It's okay.
00:41:34It's okay.
00:41:35What's going on?
00:41:38I want to show you what the zippers are really for.
00:42:03I want to show you what the zippers are really for.
00:42:10What?
00:42:11Listen.
00:42:12I want to show you what the zippers are really for.
00:42:37Goodbye, Tommy.
00:42:41Come out of it, boy.
00:42:46That guy gave you a hell of a beating.
00:43:03Handcuffs?
00:43:04You've been out for some time now.
00:43:06It all happened so fast.
00:43:08I suppose you don't remember being found in the same room with two dead men?
00:43:13Relax.
00:43:15We're not through with you.
00:43:18I'm right back.
00:43:21And don't try anything stupid.
00:43:23There's an officer right outside the door.
00:43:24Right.
00:43:25There's an officer right outside the door.
00:43:26Right.
00:43:27All right.
00:43:28All right.
00:43:32Oh, my God.
00:44:02I've been here with you when the right time opens up.
00:44:09Reach out for me through.
00:44:12You move me in the dark and dark.
00:44:17You've been walking through.
00:44:21Life is never lifeless.
00:44:25See you tomorrow, Lieutenant.
00:44:32Seems like things really picked up since you got here.
00:44:36Yeah, it does look that way, doesn't it?
00:44:38I want to talk to you.
00:44:55Yeah, well that makes two of us.
00:44:58I just spoke to my senior partner.
00:44:59See, I was going to beg him to let me keep this place open.
00:45:03But he already wanted to stay open.
00:45:06And I can't figure that out.
00:45:08Must be a reason.
00:45:10You know, I know damn well there's a reason.
00:45:14I just want to know how it is.
00:45:17You're pretty handy with that thing.
00:45:19Look, what I am is pissed off.
00:45:22And I want some answers.
00:45:24I want to know what the hell you're doing about this.
00:45:26Because I don't see you doing any more than
00:45:28standing around acting like some goddamn TV cop.
00:45:31While half of my customers are being killed off,
00:45:34and the other half are canceling their memberships.
00:45:36May I?
00:45:37Yeah.
00:45:48Very sharp.
00:45:50Then you hardly have anything in common, do you?
00:45:54I'm just doing my job, Miss Johnson.
00:45:57Well, what exactly is your job, Lieutenant?
00:46:01Do you even have a suspect?
00:46:03As a matter of fact, I have several.
00:46:05It's the motive I can't quite figure out.
00:46:08But I will.
00:46:10I will.
00:46:14What are you sharing?
00:46:17Officer Peterson's gonna hang around for the rest of the evening.
00:46:20If you don't mind.
00:46:22Fine.
00:46:23Good. I'm running out of body bags.
00:46:35Good.

00:46:47Yes, Jimmy, I'm okay.
00:46:49Look, I'm also real busy.
00:46:51If you hadn't noticed, there's been a lot of trouble here.
00:46:53I know.
00:46:54I can help, Rhonda.
00:46:59I don't think so, Jimmy.

00:57:29I just came by to pick up a few things I left inside.
00:57:31Is that okay with you?
00:57:32Why don't you try using the keys?
00:57:40Lieutenant Morgan, come in, Lieutenant Morgan.
00:57:51This is Morgan.
00:57:52I've got the report on Johnson.
00:57:54Well?
00:57:54I think you better come see this for yourself.

00:59:50Lieutenant.
00:59:52Miss Johnson.
00:59:54Well, what is it this time, Lieutenant?
01:00:06Have a seat, Valerie.
01:00:10Valerie Johnson.
01:00:30That is your real name.
01:00:32It was.
01:00:34I changed it legally.
01:00:36Uh-huh.
01:00:37You know, after last night, I was almost convinced that Jimmy Halleck was our man.
01:00:41Oh, he's nuts, all right.
01:00:42But the pieces, they just didn't fit together.
01:00:44The motives, they're all wrong.
01:00:46There are two common denominators in all the murders.
01:00:50All the victims were members of the spa.
01:00:52Number two is what I just couldn't figure out until today.
01:00:56All of them were good-looking, beautiful people, in great shape.
01:01:06Perfect bodies, one might say.
01:01:08All except me.
01:01:10All except you, Rhonda Johnson, who used to be the perfectly beautiful Valerie Johnson,
01:01:16until 70% of her body was burned in a tanning spa accident five years ago.
01:01:20Look, that's enough!
01:01:21Valerie Johnson, who was to become the modeling world's newest young star,
01:01:25but suddenly couldn't get a job starring in a freak show.
01:01:28What do you want, Morgan?
01:01:29What?
01:01:30Look, is this what you wanted to see?
01:01:32Is that it?
01:01:33That's not necessary.
01:01:35So you found out my terrible secret.
01:01:39So what?
01:01:40That doesn't mean I kill those people.
01:01:43I think it does.
01:01:44I think it eats you up inside to look at all those young, beautiful bodies,
01:01:48knowing that you have to spend a lifetime hiding yours,
01:01:51knowing that any man would get sick if he tried to make love to you.
01:01:54You bastard.
01:01:57Just doing my job.
01:01:59Can't ever prove I did anything.
01:02:01Because I didn't.
01:02:18Headquarters to Morgan. Come in, Lieutenant Morgan.
01:02:34What is it now?
01:02:35Chuck Dawson's dead. Same M.O. Body's cut the ribbon.
01:02:39When?
01:02:40It was Jimmy Hallock, all right.
01:02:41We've got two witnesses and we've got the weapon.
01:02:43He's still loose, though. I just put out an alt points on him.
01:02:46Lieutenant?
01:02:48Lieutenant, are you there?
01:02:50Come in, Lieutenant.
01:02:51Lieutenant Morgan.

01:09:50No!
01:09:51No!
01:09:52Why'd you call him, Dalsy?
01:09:57Because I love you.
01:10:00I couldn't let them catch you.
01:10:04Why'd you kill him, Dalsy?
01:10:11Because I love you.
01:10:15I couldn't let them catch you.
01:10:24This isn't a police car, Morgan.
01:10:26That's right, Miss Johnson.
01:10:27It's a rental.
01:10:28I don't understand.
01:10:29I was about to meet someone for lunch,
01:10:31and then you show up and pull me away
01:10:33on what you call urgent police business.
01:10:36Just shut up and get out of the car.
01:10:56Tell me, Morgan.
01:10:57It's taking walks out in the country,
01:10:59part of everyday police work, huh?
01:11:01You might say it is today.
01:11:02And what is that show up for?
01:11:04Are we going on a scavenger hunt,
01:11:05or are we digging for buried treasure, maybe?
01:11:07You'll find out soon enough.
01:11:08That breaks at the heart of us.
01:11:11We run to each other.
01:11:14All right, Morgan.
01:11:29I played along far enough.
01:11:31I'm not going any further until you tell me what's going on.
01:11:33This will do just fine.
01:11:46Okay, Lieutenant.
01:11:48What are we doing here?
01:11:49My father used to own this land.
01:12:01He was going to settle down here after he retired from the force.
01:12:06That never happened.
01:12:09Some punk he pulled over for speeding.
01:12:12Shot him four times.
01:12:13Thirty years on the force.
01:12:18Thirty years.
01:12:20And it was over.
01:12:22Just like that.
01:12:24Oh.
01:12:25Well, that's all very touching, Lieutenant.
01:12:27What has that got to do with me?
01:12:30Hmm?
01:12:32Shut up and listen.
01:12:32I'm not through yet.
01:12:33My father was a good man.
01:12:39A very good man.
01:12:40He spent his life upholding the law
01:12:41and teaching me to do the same thing.
01:12:48The difference
01:12:49between right
01:12:51and wrong
01:12:53is a very thin line he used to say to me.
01:12:56Then one time
01:13:00about twenty-five years ago
01:13:03he crossed over that line.
01:13:09It was about ten killings in two weeks.
01:13:13A midnight strangler, they called him.
01:13:15My father knew who it was.
01:13:18He caught him.
01:13:20But the courts let him go on a technicality.
01:13:24The killing started all over again.
01:13:26And a few weeks later
01:13:32that man disappeared.
01:13:36My father never talked about it.
01:13:37But I knew what he did.
01:13:40I knew what happened.
01:13:42What the hell are you trying to say?
01:13:53What I'm saying, Miss Johnson,
01:13:55is a mystery to me.
01:13:57Today I'm crossing that line.
01:14:01You're crazy, Morgan.
01:14:03You are out of your mind.
01:14:07I'm crazy.
01:14:09You killed twelve people, maybe more.
01:14:11And you can stand there
01:14:12and say that I'm crazy.
01:14:15I didn't kill those people.
01:14:16I killed Jimmy Halleck
01:14:18out of self-defense.
01:14:19And that's all.
01:14:20Read the newspapers.
01:14:21Oh, I've read the papers.
01:14:23I've heard the reports.
01:14:25And I know the department's position.
01:14:27Ronda Johnson.
01:14:29Kills crazed murder and self-defense.
01:14:31The whole damn city's convinced that you're their big hero.
01:14:35I don't know how you set it up like that.
01:14:39I really don't.
01:14:41Maybe you didn't.
01:14:43Maybe you're just damn lucky that another crazy came along and bailed you out just in time.
01:14:47I'm not convinced.
01:14:53I know you did it.
01:14:55You are wrong, Morgan.
01:14:57You are wrong and you're crazy.
01:14:59You couldn't solve the crime so your damn hot shot cop ego couldn't swallow it.
01:15:05I know you did it.
01:15:07You know you did it.
01:15:09If I let you go free now, you'll do it again.
01:15:11I can't let that happen.
01:15:13You're out of your mind.
01:15:15You can't just bring me up here and kill me.
01:15:19You can't do it.
01:15:21What do you think you are?
01:15:23Some self-appointed avenger with a mission from God?
01:15:27No.
01:15:29Just a man.
01:15:31Justice must be served.
01:15:33Time is now.
01:15:35Somehow I know my father will understand.
01:15:39I look in the dark I hide my face.
01:15:51Afraid of the spark I chase.
01:15:55There's no turning back I know cause I've tried.
01:16:01The hunger I feel just won't be denied.
01:16:11I'm a woman on fire and it frightens me so.
01:16:17I'm a woman on fire and I'm out of control.
01:16:27You're just what I've always feared.
01:16:29You're secretly done for.
01:16:31And when...
01:16:33Miranda, I didn't expect to see you today.
01:16:35I can't stay.
01:16:36I just came by to pick up my extra set of keys and I'm gonna run.
01:16:39Okay, just listen to this.

01:16:43Purchase your membership this week and two join for the price of one.
01:16:46First 50 new members receive a brand new aerobic outfit.
01:16:49What do you think?
01:16:50Full page ad?
01:16:51I think it sounds great.
01:16:52Look, why don't you run it over to the newspaper so we don't miss the deadline.
01:16:55I'm on my way.
01:16:56And by midweek this place will be packed to the walls with gorgeous bodies.
01:16:59I'm counting on it.
01:17:01The power is you, the power is me.
01:17:11The touch of your hands is all that I need.
01:17:19I'm a woman on fire and it frightens me so.
01:17:25I'm a woman on fire tonight.
01:17:28I'm out of control.
01:17:31It's bigger than both of us.
01:17:34It's lightning and thunder that strikes at the heart of us.
01:17:40We run to each other.
01:17:45We run to each other.
01:17:46We put pressure on it.
01:17:48We run to each other.
01:17:49I'm a woman on fire to frighten you sweet soul
01:18:09Now I'm a woman on fire tonight, I'm out of control
01:18:15You're just what I've always feared, yet secretly yearned for
01:18:23And when all the smoke is clear, you know how I'm thankful
01:18:31And for you
01:18:36I'm a woman on fire
01:18:44And I'm a woman on fire
01:18:50And I'm a woman on fire

01:19:03And I'm a woman on fire
01:19:09I'm a woman, yeah, a woman on fire
01:19:15Hey, baby, you sure look sexy
01:19:39Standing there, watching me
01:19:43I can see the hunger in you
01:19:52Reaching for your fantasy
01:19:57Only you tonight
