00:00I'm constantly trying to encourage people to actually truly be themselves.

00:04It's a phrase that we hear often, be yourself,

00:07but it's not something that we're always well practised at,

00:11even the things that might not fit with other people's ideas

00:15of who we're meant to be,

00:18because we're constantly told we've got to be long and straight or blonde.

00:21And you're like, well, actually, or maybe no hair is beautiful too.

00:24Or maybe you can be plain and have no piercings,

00:28or you can have all the piercings in the world and it still is beautiful, you know,

00:33that we can challenge what the ethics of beauty are,

00:38take the time to discover who you are.

00:41And when you discover who you are, it's less frightening to just be,

00:44because the frightening thing is knowing who you are and then hiding it

00:47and trying to show up as the thing that's hiding who you are.

00:53But actually, if you're comfortable in who you are,

00:55that you're comfortable in any space as yourself,

00:58and it actually frees up your mind, your brain, your body,

01:04and the energy that you would be using to hide who you are to be creative.
