01:00Dr. Arvind Kumar Karana, MBBS, MD, DNB, DM in gastroenterology and FRCP. He is one of the
01:10most experienced. He is the senior consultant and head of the department of gastroenterology.
01:16Our faculty also includes Dr. Bhavneet Singh Bala, gastro surgeon and advanced GI endoscopist,
01:23MBBS and MS from Government Medical College, Patiala, one of the most experienced therapeutic
01:31endoscopists in India with 25 years of experience. By the end of this training, you will understand
01:38the principles of upper and lower GI endoscopy confidently. In this course, you will learn how
01:43to handle, maintain and reprocess endoscopes safely. Perform basic diagnostic and therapeutic
01:50gastroscopy and basic colonoscopy. You will also learn how to recognize indications, contraindications
01:56and complications and manage them appropriately. Upper GI endoscopy orientation to instruments
02:03and accessories will be taught. You will also learn cleaning and disinfection of instrument and how to
02:09perform basic upper GI technique. You will have live hands-on on real patient under guidance of our
02:15expert endoscopist after learning endoscopy on animal model. Throughout the course, patient preparation
02:21and sedation, biopsy technique and tissue handling, interpretation of findings will be demonstrated.
02:28Hemostasis methods and strategies to overcome difficult cases will be emphasized. During lower GI endoscopy
02:36training, basic colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy techniques, preparation and pre-medication,
02:42indications, contraindications and complications will be taught. Tissue biopsy technique, interpretation
02:49of findings and lower GI hemostasis techniques will be hands-on and you will do yourself on anesthetized
02:56animal. The training includes practice on esophagoscopy, gastroscopy, duodenoscopy,
03:02variceal ligation, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy. Additional procedures such as hemoclipping,
03:09dilation, polypectomy, foreign body removal, and PEG may be demonstrated based on individual skill
03:16progression. The fee of upper and lower GI endoscopy course is only $1,500 for overseas candidates
03:24and 70,000 Indian rupees for Indian candidates. When you join the upper and lower GI endoscopy course
03:31together with the 15-day FMAS plus DMAS laparoscopy course, you receive a 25% discount. This benefit is
03:39also available for IVF and robotic surgery courses. On successful completion, you will receive a certificate
03:46of fellowship in endoscopy from the International Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
