NASA has released new details, photos, and videos of the first flight of the X-59, the quiet supersonic jet developed in partnership with Lockheed Martin. The flight, conducted in late October, marks the beginning of a testing campaign that could one day allow the return of supersonic travel over populated areas — but without the deafening sonic booms of the past.
