00:00I had the most amazing interaction with the fan.
00:03She came up to me and she said, oh my god, oh my god, I gotta have your autograph.
00:08And she pulls out a thing, I sign the paper, I give it back to her, and she's like, I thought
00:11you were Toni Braxton.
00:13Marie Claire, I'm Halle, mother , Barry, bitch up.
00:19You got me in like a Lacey number with black pasties, that's what it looks like.
00:24Only for you.
00:26Ooh, unusual skills.
00:29I can play the flute, I bet y'all didn't know that.
00:31I can still do a backflip, bet you didn't know that.
00:34Could you demonstrate the backflip for us?
00:36Yeah, would you like to see it?
00:37Follow me.
00:38Just kidding!
00:42Being on Capitol Hill with Congress and fighting for something that's important for all women,
00:48that was a boss moment.
00:49We were lobbying for a bill for menopause research, and I can't think of a time that I felt like,
00:55oh, I'm really doing something that matters, that's important.
01:00And only we women, we change it for ourselves.
01:02And we've been told that it's something not to talk about, we should act like it's not happening,
01:05but guess what?
01:06It is happening.
01:07I do feel like sometimes I'm asked to inspire people.
01:13I think that's one of the most important things we can do as human beings, is to inspire other
01:18people to move them to make a change, or to do something, or to make a move, or to be active.
01:24I don't always do it.
01:26A girl can't be inspiring every day, but I do take it seriously.
01:31Ooh, my work wives!
01:33Well, one of my work wives is Lindsay Flores.
01:37She's my bad and bougie, I'm bad, she's bougie, and so we get into all kinds of trouble together.
01:41Natalie Russ, she's my sweetheart, sweetheart.
01:44We're building a business together.
01:45She's always got the gummies.
01:48Allie Tam, she's my new work wife.
01:51I just kind of married her.
01:53Oh, Sarah Tess, Sarah Tess, another one of my work wives.
01:55Oh my God, how could I miss my baby Sarah Tess?
01:58Oh yeah, Sarah is the youngest, oldest person I know.
02:01I don't think there's anything as a guilty pleasure.
02:04I think pleasure is pleasure.
02:05I never feel guilty when I'm pleasuring myself.
02:10What I wore to my first audition, I don't know what I had on my body, but I can tell you this.
02:14I had long curly hair like every other black young woman at the time, and so what I wore to my
02:21first audition that got me the job was my haircut.
02:24I decided I was going to cut all this long curly hair off, and I was going to be different.
02:29I was going to stand out.
02:30Everybody told me, if you do that, you're never going to work.
02:32You won't be commercial, and I did it anyway.
02:34So it was taking a risk.
02:35It was being authentically who I was, and it made me stand out, and I'm convinced that's the only
02:40reason I got the job.
02:42Halle Berry always brings herself to the table, and I come however I am.
02:45If I'm happy, I'm happy.
02:46If I'm sad, I'm sad.
02:47If I'm not in the mood, I am not in the mood.
02:50That's the most authentic way.
02:51I think I can show up, and I love when that's how other people show up.
02:54A changemaker can mean so many different things.
02:57Having the courage to walk in your truth, be bold, you know, doing something for culture,
03:03for the community, for women, for a group, for a minority, if they're helping others.
03:08To me, that's a part of changing the way we all see the world.
03:12If I can impart some wisdom, I would say, remember that if you're going through hell,
03:17keep on going, and that you should fight to always be your authentic self.
03:22Whatever that is.
03:23Find out what that is, and then fight to have the confidence to be that.
03:27So that's a wrap on Changemaker's Issue.
03:30Happy 30th birthday.
03:32Bye.
03:32Peace.
03:33Chicken goes.
