00:00Pour severe weather this morning, let's show you what we do have to deal with today.
00:04And basically those showers into the Carolinas and then our next big system in the west.
00:08Let's start you off here into the southeast.
00:10A few showers down into South Florida, perhaps Miami.
00:13We're only a few inches away from breaking our all-time rainfall record.
00:17We'll have more on that coming up in the show.
00:19Otherwise, unfortunately, soggy there into the Carolinas.
00:22Well, we see the big warm-up going on today.
00:24And guess what? It's going to last into the day tomorrow.
00:26And our western wallop.
00:28And you might say, oh, I don't care what's happening in the west.
00:31Well, guess what?
00:31If you live anywhere east of this area, which is basically the rest of the country,
00:37you need to pay attention to this because this whole system is going to be traversing eastbound
00:42and causing rain and snow.
00:44More on that a little bit later.
00:46But first, let's have a look at what's happening on the radar right now with Mike.
00:49Okay.
00:50To manhug them and warm them up so they can all stand there and just do, you know,
00:54when you rub and you get friction and you warm someone up.
00:57That's why he needs them out there.
00:59Anyway, I was actually talking to him yesterday and he's now in Canada, which it's even colder there.

02:03And don't tune us out if you live anywhere in the country because this is going to head eastbound.
02:10Our jet stream dipping southbound very far, so that's allowing the cold air to go all the way down into Southern California,
02:17also into Nevada.
02:19You're going to get snow, but look at Mammoth Lakes.
02:22Nine degrees.
02:24That reminds me of that movie.
02:27What's his name?
02:28He goes, you know how many miles you were going?
02:29Nine.
02:30Nine miles an hour.
02:31Is it Tommy Boy or Black Sheep?

02:33Anyhow, this storm system is going to be moving east, as I mentioned.
02:36Look at it Saturday into the center of the country, and then Sunday it's going to be along the east coast, but mainly rain.
02:43I can't really squeeze a lot of snow out of this thing for you guys.
02:46And, Mike, some people are saying, give me snow.
02:50Meteor shower peaks tonight into Friday morning.
02:52It's the last major one of the year, described as the most intense meteor shower of the year,
02:58and it can be seen from almost any point on Earth.

03:02NASA's Dr. Bill Cook joins.
03:03Teak hotels and B&Bs up and down the shore actually also escaped some severe damage.
03:09They're full now with FEMA officers and displaced families, but they expect to really begin by late winter,
03:16aggressive push to get people back in the summer.
03:19Now, New York City, it seems as if it wasn't affected at all, was it?
03:23I mean, it is still packed, you know, around the tree in 5th Avenue and all the other tourist spots.
03:27It is packed, and you know, in fact, particularly islands.
03:29Okay, let's talk about New Orleans.
03:30Poor New Orleans.
03:31I mean, first there was Katrina, then there's an oil spill, then there was Isaac, but we have the Super Bowl.
03:35So that's got to be all good news for New Orleans.
03:38And Isaac was actually a success story, I mean, by comparison.
