00:00From iconic gunslingers going down with one last cutting line of dialogue,
00:04to a beloved but still very much helpless character's fate being sealed in front of
00:08their very eyes, this bunch of Star Wars faces all knew their stint among Jedi and Sith was over,
00:14but went out with an almighty bang all the same. Gareth here from Wackle to Star Wars and here
00:18are the 10 Greatest I'm Dead and I Know It Moments from Star Wars.
00:2310. Han Solo Gives His Son the Strength to Do It, The Force Awakens
00:27While the actual visual of the iconic smuggler turned general plummeting to his death on the
00:32back of sharing one last touching moment with his boy Ben, as the two reconnected on Starkiller
00:37base was certainly shocking to behold. The second Han Solo stepped out onto that dizzying walkway,
00:42fans were already bracing themselves for the seemingly inevitable. So too was Solo as it goes,
00:47with the quick-witted commander of the Millennium Falcon having the look of a man on borrowed time
00:52throughout his desperate conversation with his fallen son. Even when a clearly conflicted Kylo
00:57Ren seems to hint at leaving his dark days behind. Solo's face, as the grandson of Darth Vader
01:02offers his lightsaber to his pops before the room ominously fades into darkness, tells the story
01:07of a father who knew a tragic and definitive conclusion was likely right around the corner.
01:12But instead of struggling against his son, Solo accepted his boy's wishes and left his life
01:16with one solitary stroke of his cheek.
01:19Oh, it's just so sad.
01:21Number 9, Ben Kenobi Knows His Time Has Come, A New Hope
01:25Coming during the ragtag bunch of heroes' attempts to rescue a captive princess Leia,
01:30a rematch for the ages unfolds between one-time master and apprentice as Darth Vader and Obi-Wan
01:36Kenobi duke it out for old time's sake. Yet despite very much holding his own against
01:40the all-powerful fallen Jedi, more than he did during that first running of it back in episode
01:443 of Disney Plus' Obi-Wan Kenobi at least, the wise old space wizard opts for a then-unexpected
01:50route upon witnessing Vader's son enter the hangar beside him.
01:53With a knowing smirk as he senses what he must do, the one-time Clone War general brings
01:58his lightsaber towards him and offers the former Anakin Skywalker an open invite to strike
02:03him down.
02:04Sure enough, as predicted, Kenobi would subsequently become more powerful than Vader can possibly
02:09imagine and aid young Luke in his path to becoming a Jedi Master in his own right.
02:13Few Jedi have ever gone down in such a calm and badass a manner as this icon of the Force
02:18did when sacrificing himself to save Luke and the gang.
02:228. A return to Jabba's Palace means only one thing for Bib Fortuna – The Mandalorian
02:28The live-action return of Boba Fett was one that lifted the hearts of just about everyone
02:32taking in the fresh new entries in Disney's now-burgeoning TV corner of the galaxy. However,
02:37there was one particularly familiar Star Wars face who wasn't as excited to see the legendary
02:42bounty hunter as the rest of this giddy old planet. Taking place during The Mandalorian's
02:46Season 2 finale post-credit scene, the son of Django decides to return to a well-known
02:51locale on Tatooine in the wake of assisting Din Djarin and his Mandalorian chums.
02:56Rocking up very much to the unfortunate surprise of the most famous Twi'lek in the galaxy,
03:01that is Bib Fortuna, Jabba the Hutt's one-time Major Domo realized very quickly that his time
03:06on the throne was about to come to an abrupt end. Squirming and attempting to pacify the formidable
03:11Beskar-sporting badass, Fortuna's transparent bid to embrace and reconcile with the assumed
03:16dead force did little to convince Boba to spare his life. In the end, Fortuna knew what was heading
03:21his way, but desperate Twi'leks do desperate things, and his snivelling chuckles were soon
03:26extinguished by the next daimyo. 7. Anakin tells Padme he's had visions of her death.
03:32Revenge of the Sith
03:33While it was no secret that Luke and Leia's mother, Padme Amidala's chances of making it out
03:38of Revenge of the Sith alive were pretty much non-existent, the character herself was likely
03:42still somewhat content coming into that third entry, on the back of finally marrying her
03:46beloved and even creating the next generation of Skywalkers in the process. But celebrations
03:51were soon cut short, on the back of Anakin's ominous revelation that his force-sensitive
03:55brain had been at it again in his dreams. This time, instead of his now-late mother being
04:00at the centre of his unsettling visions, it was Padme. Ever the optimist, the former Queen of Naboo
04:05tried to gloss over her husband's reveal of her eventually dying in childbirth, but the
04:10senator had to feel even just a tad uneasy at the news of Skywalker's fateful latest vision,
04:15with Amidala witnessing the fatal events that unfolded upon Anakin's prior visions of his
04:19mother, and no doubt sensing there may have been even a flicker of truth in this terminal
04:23declaration. In the end, Padme succumbs to a broken heart in the wake of her children's
04:28birth, but not before declaring that they're still good in her fallen hubby.
04:316. Darth Maul's Final Words to Kenobi
04:36As the animated Clone Wars and Rebels shows would later shine a light on, Maul wasn't
04:41actually entirely cut down during that fateful duel of the fates on Naboo, and he would eventually
04:46come back to haunt arch-nemesis Kenobi on more than a few occasions down the road.
04:50Yet the tortured and rage-filled soul still always appeared destined to bite the dust before
04:55the events of the original trilogy unfolded, and it felt somewhat poetic to have his longtime
04:59rival deal the fatal blow during an episode of the aforementioned Rebels series.
05:04Instead of a wide-eyed acknowledgement of his unfortunate conclusion this time around
05:08though, Maul was afforded a few moments to pick the mind of his old enemy as he lay dwindling
05:13in Kenobi's arms.
05:14Maul inquires whether the person Kenobi is protecting on Tatooine is the Chosen One, before
05:19stating that Luke will avenge them both and then giving up his fight upon realizing some
05:23hope still remains in the galaxy.
05:25After becoming privy to the eventually disastrous Order 66 plot that would eventually massacre
05:36much of the Jedi Order, CT-5555, better known as, well, Fives, found himself in an increasingly
05:43perilous situation, as he attempted to evade Palpatine's forces and inform Anakin Skywalker
05:47and Captain Rex about the incoming plan.
05:50With both Skywalker and Rex understandably skeptical about Fives' revelation, the desperate
05:55clone knew there was little hope in his survival on Coruscant, as Commander Fox and his fellow
05:59troops closed in on him.
06:01Yet despite Fox's calls of don't do it, soldier, as Fives impulsively reached for a
06:05blaster to defend himself with, ugh, it was too late.
06:08One accurate blast later, Fives' final breaths foreshadowed the dark fate that was on the horizon
06:13for both the Jedi and clones, claiming the incoming plot was bigger than any of them, and that he
06:17only ever wanted to do his duty as the mission and nightmares finally came to an end for the
06:22tortured soul.
06:244. Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor wait for the inevitable, Rogue One
06:28Outside of the odd dark detour partway through a trilogy, the minds behind various Star Wars
06:33offerings always seem to try their best to end one of their family-friendly features on as
06:37positive a note as possible.
06:39Gareth Edwards had other ideas, however.
06:41After giving Rogue One Watchers little choice but to fall in love with the likes of Jyn Erso and
06:45Cassian Andor, during the rebel forces' attempts to get their paws on the Empire's Death Star
06:50plans, the director cruelly yet brilliantly decided to reward those brave freedom fighters
06:54with one of the most gut-wrenching beats in the galaxy for all of their Scarif scrambling
06:59troubles.
07:00As the frightening space station loomed into view over the planet, the last few flickers of
07:04hope were chillingly blocked out by this iconic superweapon.
07:07Witnessing its infamous green laser beam penetrate the surface of the orb, both Jyn and Cassian
07:12have little choice but to watch the beautiful Terra heading their way on the horizon, embracing
07:16each other as their final moments amongst the living are inevitably consumed by the incoming
07:21blast.
07:233.
07:23Darth Vader Shuts The Doors On Newt Gunray
07:26Revenge of the Sith
07:27Hot on the heels of chopping his way through some younglings, a recently turned Anakin Skywalker
07:32is tasked with extinguishing the last few embers of the Separatist group on Mustafar.
07:36And in one particularly sinister beat, the Viceroy of the Trade Federation, Newt Gunray, likely
07:41very much realized what savagery was waiting around the corner.
07:45After welcoming the recently christened Lord Vader into their company, Skywalker unsettled
07:49all in attendance by slowly lowering the surrounding doors via the Force.
07:53Skip forward to the sight of Anakin easily slicing his way through the room, leaving only
07:58Gunray to beg for his life before referencing Lord Sidious' promises of peace in a hopeless
08:02late attempt to elicit some mercy in the barbaric fallen Jedi.
08:06In truth though, the Viceroy knew his time was up the second he witnessed his fellow Separatists
08:10be utterly butchered in this sealed, makeshift tomb.
08:14Nobody puts Vader in a corner.
08:162.
08:17Satine Kryze Accepts Her Fate
08:19The Clone Wars
08:21Heading on back to another devastating instance of life slipping away in the arms of a heart-broken
08:25entity, and to a moment that left many a Clone Wars die-hard with their hearts in their
08:30mouths.
08:31With it again being highly unlikely that the pacifist ruler of Mandalore Satine Kryze would
08:35find her way out of the Clone Wars unscathed, fans suspected the worst as soon as Maul took
08:40his arch-nemesis' Bey hostage.
08:42And with Kryze no doubt being aware that her beloved would never succumb to the dark side,
08:46and give the unstable Dath and Miriam what he wanted, it's clear Satine was under no
08:50illusions what fateful event was heading her way as the Duchess writhed in pain mid-force
08:55choke.
08:56When Obi is helplessly forced to watch on, Maul impales the love of his life before his
09:00very eyes, with the two sharing a heartbreaking moment of realization as Satine lingers in
09:04the air with a darksaber through her mid-section.
09:07Satine then left her dearest Obi with the devastating revelation of her always loving this tormented
09:13Jedi Knight.
09:141.
09:15Cad Bane Knew Boba Fett Was a Killer
09:18The Book of Boba Fett
09:20Cad Bane's recent re-emergence in the Star Wars universe as part of the Book of Boba Fett
09:24Disney Plus series was enough to very nearly melt the internet altogether.
09:27However, those who were angling to see the epic gunslinger stick around and act as a consistent
09:32thorn in the sides of Din Djarin and Fett in the coming seasons, were ultimately left reeling
09:37by his sudden demise in the finale of said book.
09:40Never one to miss out on the chance to deliver a truly memorable one-liner though, Bane's
09:45final lesson of looking out for yourself, being cut off by a stubborn Boba paves the
09:49way for a fittingly culled final utterance.
09:52Definely confessing I knew you were a killer moments before, one last desperate attempt
09:56to incinerate his long-time rival is foiled by a spear through the chest.
10:00Does it get any cooler?
10:02Bane was well aware his days of bounty hunting were up, but still could not resist getting
10:06in the last word.
10:27Do it!
10:28I wanted to die, it's a great way.
10:30So I'm ok, I can understand that.
10:34Let's do it again!
10:35Let's go.
10:37I'm Binan has a pleasure.
10:40Two moment.
10:42Three moment.
10:44One moment.
