Californians are finding newfound appreciation for teachers during the novel coronavirus pandemic, when they're homeschooling their children in the midst of statewide school shutdowns.

00:00Reese Witherspoon is giving back to teachers during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
00:05The actress and entrepreneur is showing her gratitude towards educators that have been
00:08homeschooling children in the midst of school shutdowns by giving out free dresses through
00:12her lifestyle brand, Draper James.
00:14The label announced Thursday that they'll be giving away 250 dresses for teachers nationwide.
00:19Eligible parties can fill out an application and will be notified on how to receive their
00:23outfits.
00:24Witherspoon spoke out about the news, saying,
00:26These past few weeks have shown me so much about humanity.
00:29I'm an eternal optimist, so I always look for the bright side of things.
00:33And I've been so encouraged by the way people are really showing up for each other, particularly
00:37the teachers.
00:38The actress added,
00:39During quarantine, teachers are broadcasting lessons from their own homes and figuring out
00:43new remote learning technology and platforms on the fly, all while continuing to educate
00:48and connect with our kids.
00:49Advocating for the children of the world is no easy task, so I wanted to show teachers
00:54a little extra love right now.
00:56The application form through Draper James explains that the team noticed teachers are, quote,
01:00working harder than ever in these unusual times, and continued noting,
01:04We know that this is not easy and want to shine a light on all your efforts.
01:08As a thank you, Draper James would like to give you a free dress.
