Sorry 'Game of Thrones' fans. It looks like that Jon Snow led sequel is no longer happening. Kit Harrington confirmed the sad news to the Associated Press saying, "There are no plans for it at the moment. It's off the table for the foreseeable."

00:21finished its eighth and final season in 2019.
00:25HBO's prequel series House of the Dragon premiered in 2022,
00:28with a second season scheduled for this June.

00:36with Harington attached to reprise his role.
00:39Updates on the status of the potential project have remained sparse ever since,
00:43but showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss told The Hollywood Reporter in January
00:47they hadn't written off a sequel entirely.
00:50It would be so great. Nothing would make us happier than to work with our people from that show.
00:54But there are a lot of other ways to make that happen that are fresh and exciting for everyone involved.
00:59The duo noted it might be a better idea when more time has elapsed since the original show's finale.
