00:00Please welcome your host, Jeanette Munraro.
00:30Hello, and welcome to Friday's It Takes Two on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:38It's Blackpool Eve, but before we head off to the Vegas of the North,
00:42tonight I'm putting on a show that wouldn't feel out of place in the entertainment capital of the world.
00:47So, are you ready to rock?
00:48Yes!
00:49Good, because in just 24 hours and 4 minutes, our couples head on to the famous sprung floor.
00:57But who will be jumping for joy? We'll have to tune in tomorrow.
01:00Until then, let's take a look at what we've got coming up for you tonight.
01:04Our roving reporter, Tasha, has found her way into the famous Tower Ballroom,
01:09and she'll be chatting to all six of our celebs performing tomorrow night.
01:13And get your dabbers ready, because our statsman, OJ Borg, is back,
01:17and he's here to break down all the Blackpool numbers with a fun bingo twist.
01:21Plus, life's a beach for these strictly superfans.
01:27And when it comes to our couples, this lot are totally on the ball.
01:30It's the return of our Friday panel!
01:35Nice, nice.
01:37Yeah, thank you.
01:38No, we really practiced that, didn't we?
01:40All right, and we've got another huge exclusive lined up for you.
01:49We'll be revealing what it is a little later in the show.
01:53But first, it's time to head over to Tasha,
01:56who has exclusive access backstage in the Tower Ballroom.
01:59And she's bumped into two of the boys, Lewis and George, ahead of the big night.
02:03Take it away, Tasha.
02:05Thanks, Jeanette.
02:06As you can see, the group rehearsal's going on.
02:08Hi, guys, how are you both?
02:10Very well.
02:11Really, really good.
02:12How exciting is it to be here?
02:13I know.
02:13What's your first impressions of the famous Blackpool Tower?
02:18Big and cold.
02:20No, it's beautiful.
02:21It's actually really...
02:22It's ornate, I'd say.
02:24Mmm, love it.
02:26What about you, Lewis?
02:26I think it's super beautiful.
02:28I mean, it almost takes your breath away, the size and the grandeur of it.
02:32And you can kind of, like, feel an energy in the air of history of dancing,
02:35and it's just super exciting.
02:37You've both got high energy routines.
02:39How are you planning on using the sprung floor to your advantage?
02:43Yeah, I think we're both kind of hoping it is an advantage,
02:46because it's...
02:47Everyone keeps mentioning the sprung floor.
02:49How sprung is this floor?
02:50How sprung could a floor be?
02:52Like, does it actually make you jump?
02:52I mean, yeah, you literally go flying up through the roof and back.
02:55Well, at least that will count some of the time for the dance.
02:59Well, soon you've found out for yourself.
03:01It is quite spunky, I would say.
03:02I'm looking forward to it.
03:03I mean, I feel like it will surely just add a bit of energy.
03:06Up the party vibes.
03:08More is more.
03:09Oh, more is always more.
03:11And Katya's never had a 10 in Blackpool.
03:13How are you hoping to change that?
03:14Oh, don't put that pressure on me.
03:16I have to ask the question.
03:17I'm sorry.
03:18No, we'll just, like we do every week,
03:20we'll just try our best and then kind of the rest is out of our hands.
03:23Yeah, and Alexa's first time in Blackpool,
03:25and also your first time getting to share this amazing experience with her.
03:28Yeah, we've got the same level of experience, me and Alexa's.
03:32No, I think it's nice to sort of be able to experience this place together.
03:38I mean, the magic isn't lost on me,
03:40but I know it will be really special for her, so that's quite cool.
03:43It is a very special place, and good luck tomorrow.
03:46Really take it in, and just go for it.
03:49Big a look.
03:50Back over to you tonight.
03:52Thanks, Tasha.
03:53Right, with everyone heading off to Blackpool,
03:56luckily we found three strictly mega fans wandering the halls of L Street.
04:00Let me entertain you with our Friday panel.
04:04She made a living from watching TV.
04:06Now every time she's on the telly,
04:08she lights up our lives like the Blackpool illuminations.
04:11It's Scarlett Moffat!
04:14Hi, I'm back!
04:16Looking gorgeous!
04:18Yes!
04:19Hang on, hang on.
04:20Cut the music.
04:21Now, the rest of the panel will be out in a minute,
04:24but before they do,
04:26I'm here to tell you what your big Strictly exclusive is.
04:30Drum roll, please!
04:32I'm so excited!
04:33I am officially this year's first Strictly Christmas special contestant!
04:39Yay!
04:43I'm so excited!
04:44Congratulations!
04:45Come on, sit down, sit down, sit down.
04:46The rest of the panel can wait.
04:48This is big.
04:49This is big.
04:50We'll keep them hiding in the back.
04:52What incredible news.
04:53I'm so honest, I just keep crying all the time.
04:55You can say it now.
04:56You can say it.
04:56I know, I can say it out loud.
04:57Oh, I'm so excited.
04:59So how excited are you to be a part of the Strictly Christmas special?
05:01No, like, this is, it's just a dream.
05:03Like, honestly, this is like the top of my bucket list, which I never thought I was going to be able to do.
05:09And now I get to do it.
05:10I get to do it.
05:12And what does it feel like knowing you're going to be such a big part of so many people's Christmas day?
05:16Oh, docks, I will cry.
05:17I think for me, like, this has been a tradition in my family that we sit down and watch Strictly on Christmas day.
05:24And the fact that my little boy, Jude, gets to then watch his mom.
05:28Watch his mommy.
05:29I'm so excited.
05:30Oh, isn't that amazing?
05:31But we are going to be finding out as well, which pro you're going to be dancing with.
05:36And it is...
05:39Vito Corpoca!
05:44There he is.
05:45How much of a dream pairing is that?
05:47Well, I feel like we're the same person.
05:49Obviously, there's a couple of differences.
05:52We're the same person.
05:54Just a few differences.
05:56Now, we won't be revealing the dance style just yet,
05:58but what's it been like in training, Vito?
06:00Oh, honestly, even better than I could have imagined.
06:03Like, we've just laughed from start to finish.
06:05But I've also discovered muscles that I didn't think I had.
06:09Things wobble that I didn't think would wobble.
06:12But every day is a school day, isn't it?
06:15Keeping you humble.
06:16Yes, yes.
06:17And you are a super, super, Strictly mega fan.
06:20Yes.
06:20So how much are you hoping that you're going to take home the Christmas glitter ball?
06:24Do you know, I don't mean to sound like,
06:25but I genuinely already feel like I've won.
06:28Like, the fact I get to be part of it, I'm dancing with Vito.
06:31However, I am leaving a little space on me mantelpiece, just in case.
06:34Yeah, why not?
06:34Just in case.
06:36Just in case.
06:37Oh, I am so thrilled for you.
06:39Congratulations, Scarlett.
06:41And make sure you tune in to Scott Mill's Breakfast Show on Radio 2 on Monday
06:45for another Christmas reveal.
06:48I know.
06:49Give it up for Scarlett Bolford, everybody.
06:50Yay!
06:51All right, let's get the rest of the Friday panel out, shall we?
06:55Hit the music.
06:56One more time.
06:58He's a man who doesn't need a sprung floor to fly.
07:01It's a member of gravity-defying dance troupe Diversity.
07:04The one and only Ashley Banjo.
07:06There he is.
07:09Oh, come here, you.
07:12Give me a cuddle.
07:13Give me a cuddle.
07:14We would have been great partners on Strictly, do you reckon?
07:17How are you?
07:18Nice to see you.
07:19Come and join the couch.
07:21He's a former police officer turned TV presenter
07:24who appeared on Strictly back in 2009,
07:27and we still think it's a crime.
07:29He didn't make it past week four.
07:30It's Ram Weldon!
07:35Hey, you.
07:36Come here.
07:36I'm going to give you a hug.
07:37Give me another hug.
07:37Welcome to the show, darling.
07:42Well, nice to have you,
07:44and nice to see you, to see you nice.
07:47Ashley, last Sunday,
07:48we saw the amazing collaboration
07:50between Diversity and the Strictly professionals.
07:52What a number.
07:53What was it like for you to be part of it?
07:55It was, honestly,
07:56we have never had the pleasure
07:58of performing on Strictly before,
08:00so the timing was right,
08:02the stars aligned,
08:03and, yeah, honestly,
08:04the response has been immense.
08:05Can't thank everybody enough,
08:06and hopefully it's not the only time.
08:08Not the only one.
08:09Yeah, hopefully more to come, right?
08:10Yeah.
08:11And speaking of more to come,
08:12Diversity are going to be going on tour
08:13early next year,
08:14but Strictly's going to be in Blackpool
08:16tomorrow night.
08:17Absolutely.
08:17How are you feeling about Strictly in Blackpool?
08:18I think, well, listen,
08:19you talk about the tour.
08:20I know when we go on tour,
08:22Blackpool is always an absolute,
08:24just incredible venue.
08:26So when we go,
08:27I'm super excited to be in Blackpool.
08:29So I kind of know how they're feeling
08:31because, you know,
08:31we're not there yet,
08:32but it's coming in the future.
08:33So it's got a really special,
08:34a special dance energy.
08:36There's something about it, right?
08:37There's something about it.
08:38Exactly.
08:38Rav, 16 years since you did Strictly.
08:41Can you believe it?
08:43It hurts a little.
08:45It hurts a little.
08:46I know.
08:47I was 12.
08:48I was 12.
08:48I was 12.
08:48I was 12.
08:48But Scam Safe Week is coming up on the BBC.
08:53So can you tell us a little bit more
08:54about why it's all happening?
08:55Well, it's just really important
08:56to spread the message
08:57of how to keep yourself safe.
08:59Like, we all know someone
09:00who's either been targeted by scammers
09:02or have been themselves.
09:03So I think it's just getting across
09:04all the BBC platforms
09:06like we are today,
09:07talking about it today,
09:07just making sure as many people as possible
09:09can stay safe from these scams.
09:11Yeah, we love it.
09:11We want to protect everybody.
09:13All right.
09:13Shall we get into this year's couples?
09:14Let's do it.
09:15Yes.
09:15So first up,
09:16we're going to start with Karen and Carlos.
09:17They're doing a Paso Doble.
09:19Now, Rav,
09:19how do you think Karen
09:20is going to cope with the Blackpool occasion?
09:23Well, we know that it's the biggest occasion
09:25she's going to have so far
09:27during Strictly
09:27because being in Blackpool,
09:29it's huge.
09:29And she's performed so many times
09:31on the highest level internationally.
09:33Yeah.
09:33So I think this is where
09:35she can really shine.
09:36She's not going to be scared
09:36of a bit of pressure.
09:37She's done it nearly 150 times
09:39for her country.
09:40So I think she's going to be amazing.
09:41And she's brought it home.
09:43And she's brought it home.
09:45Scarlett, the Paso has both
09:47topped the leaderboard
09:48and been at the bottom
09:48of the leaderboard.
09:49She's had a bit of a rollercoaster
09:50of a dance in terms of scores.
09:52Are you expecting
09:53an up or down weekend for Karen?
09:54I'm thinking up.
09:56Me too.
09:56Because she's fierce, you know?
09:58And it's like,
09:59in the words of me little boy,
10:00it's an angry dance.
10:01And I feel like
10:02I could imagine
10:03really getting into that.
10:04Do you know what I mean?
10:05Yeah.
10:05I'm here for it.
10:06And what about yourself, Ashley?
10:07What do you make of Karen and Carlos?
10:09I think she's underrated.
10:11I do.
10:12I think she's great.
10:14There are some weeks
10:15I'm, you know,
10:16not as blown away.
10:17In other weeks,
10:17I go, oh, wow!
10:19So I think that I'm just
10:19really looking forward
10:20to seeing what happens
10:22on the occasion.
10:22She's fiery,
10:23so I think we're going
10:23to get that from her.
10:24Let's go now to Amber and Nikita.
10:26They're going to be doing
10:26a quick step.
10:27Now, Ashley,
10:28since being in the dance-off
10:29on week five,
10:30she has been so strong
10:31and consistent
10:32every single week.
10:33What have you made
10:34of her resilience?
10:35Oh, she is,
10:36I think she's like
10:37a secret weapon.
10:38I think she's still got more
10:40in the arsenal
10:41that we haven't seen yet.
10:42And when someone has got
10:42that much ability,
10:44it's exciting to see
10:45what they come up with,
10:46especially because of that,
10:47you know,
10:47fiery connection.
10:48Yeah, you look forward
10:49to the dance, right?
10:50Because you know
10:50you're going to get
10:51something good.
10:52Rav, you were eliminated
10:53on the quick step.
10:54I know I brought up
10:5516 years, elimination,
10:57who am I?
10:59It's because I love you.
11:00But do you think
11:01there's any chance
11:02of Amber having
11:03that same fate
11:03with the quick step?
11:04No, listen,
11:05when I did a quick step,
11:06I looked like a rhino
11:06treading on Lego.
11:08So I don't think
11:08Amber's going to look
11:09the same when she does it.
11:10She's going to be
11:11a lot better than me.
11:11I think she's going
11:12to be absolutely fine.
11:13It's a good dance for her.
11:14She's a good dancer.
11:15What do you make of Amber?
11:16Yeah, she's amazing.
11:17And like,
11:17I remember seeing her
11:18in theatre
11:19in Great Gatsby.
11:21And that's,
11:22you know,
11:22and that was a little bit
11:23Charleston,
11:24so I think she's going
11:25to sweep the floor.
11:26She's going to be amazing.
11:27I hope so too.
11:28Right, let's go now
11:28to Belventa and Julian.
11:30They're doing
11:30an Argentine tango.
11:31Scarlett,
11:32this is the dance
11:32she's been wanting
11:33to do from day one
11:35of the series.
11:36Do you think
11:37it's going to suit her?
11:38I think it will
11:38because I feel like
11:39when she's in closed hold,
11:41that's when she excels.
11:42I feel like they've got
11:43a really good partnership.
11:44And this is all about
11:45like being led
11:47and, you know,
11:47and I think she's going
11:48to be amazing.
11:48And the drama.
11:49She's going to bring
11:50the drama as well.
11:51But Ashley,
11:52she's been in the dance
11:52off four times.
11:54Can the sprung
11:56Blackpool floor
11:57help her bounce back up?
11:58Probably not.
12:01No, no, no.
12:02But that's okay.
12:02I'm a huge,
12:03I'm a huge fan of her.
12:05I'm a huge fan of her.
12:08We love honesty here.
12:09I'm a huge fan
12:10of an underdog as well.
12:12But you know,
12:12there comes a point
12:13in a competition
12:13when I look around now
12:14and there are some
12:15incredible couples
12:16and I think maybe,
12:18I think she should make
12:19the most of the
12:19Blackpool experience.
12:20Yeah.
12:20And she's obviously
12:21a fighter.
12:22She is coming back
12:22week on week delivering.
12:24And Rav,
12:24what do you make of Belle?
12:26I think it's a good
12:26dance for her.
12:27I think she's going
12:28to be good.
12:28She knows she's promised
12:29something special
12:29in Blackpool.
12:30This is her chance.
12:31I think she can do it.
12:32Yeah, fingers crossed.
12:33Well, we'll see.
12:34We'll chat about
12:34our remaining couples
12:35a little bit later.
12:35But for now,
12:36let's hear it
12:36for the Friday panel.
12:40And our Christmas.
12:41Oh, I love it.
12:42All right,
12:42now it's time
12:43to head back up north
12:44to see how Tasha's
12:45getting on.
12:45And this time
12:46she's with Kaz and Belle.
12:48Thanks, Jeanette.
12:49We're in the Blackpool
12:50Auditorium
12:51and rehearsals
12:52are in full swing.
12:53Hello, babe.
12:54Thank you for joining me.
12:55How are you feeling
12:56walking in this space here?
12:57Oh, I feel
12:58it's unmesmerised.
13:00Look at the lights,
13:01everything,
13:01the history.
13:02It's unbelievable.
13:03How much of a sense
13:03of the history
13:04can you feel?
13:05I mean,
13:05I think it just feels
13:06really magical, right?
13:07So you walk into the place
13:08and you're literally
13:09transported into another world
13:11and that's really special.
13:13Like, yeah,
13:13the lights
13:14and all of the architecture
13:16as well.
13:16Like, you do feel
13:17like you've stepped
13:18into like an old,
13:19old theatre.
13:20It's gorgeous.
13:21It's a magical feeling,
13:22isn't it?
13:22Yeah, totally.
13:23It's a bit different
13:23from Mousetree.
13:25Yeah, I was literally
13:26just saying that.
13:27It feels really,
13:27really different
13:28and trying to navigate
13:29your way around as well.
13:30I've been lost
13:30about three times.
13:31Yeah, it's massive.
13:32If I'm late for the show,
13:34it's because I'm lost.
13:35So, yeah.
13:36And Kaz,
13:36you've played in front
13:37of some quite big crowds
13:38before.
13:39Now, 620 can fit
13:40in this space.
13:41How are your nerves feeling?
13:43I actually said to Carlos
13:44when we walked in,
13:45I said, Carlos,
13:45I'm nervous.
13:46I was like,
13:47I'm really nervous
13:48because it's Blackboard
13:49because it's so,
13:50it's so big
13:51and so vast.
13:52So I do feel
13:53really nervous
13:54about this,
13:55to be honest.
13:55Yeah, yeah.
13:56And, you know,
13:57you've been here
13:57for quite a few days
13:58with Julian.
13:59What have you been up to
14:00apart from rehearsing?
14:01Yeah, I mean,
14:02it doesn't leave
14:03a lot of time
14:03to do much,
14:04but we did go
14:05on the Skyflyer
14:06which was quite exciting.
14:07Yeah, it's a ride
14:09and it goes up
14:10quite high
14:10and I was screaming
14:11like a little kid.
14:13It wasn't even that,
14:14like, you know,
14:15like fast or anything.
14:17It just sort of
14:17whizzes around
14:18very slowly.
14:18But you can see
14:19the whole of Blackpool
14:20from up there
14:21and it was gorgeous
14:21and the tail
14:22was just in front of you.
14:23We've had a walk
14:24along the beach,
14:25fish and chips.
14:27Really, really lovely
14:28fish and chips.
14:28Yeah, yeah.
14:29And the weather's been amazing.
14:30Gorgeous.
14:31Massive, massive fish.
14:33I think Julian
14:34described it as a shark.
14:36He's like,
14:36I'm served up a shark
14:37with chips.
14:39But, yeah,
14:40no, it's been really lovely.
14:41Oh, well,
14:42good luck to you both tomorrow.
14:44You've got the Argentine tango
14:45and the paso.
14:46Go for it.
14:47Enjoy it.
14:47Take it all in.
14:48Back over to you, Jeanette.
14:51Thanks, Tasha.
14:52Right,
14:52Strictly has a storied
14:53history at Blackpool.
14:55But to really understand
14:56how the past might impact
14:57this year's couples,
14:58it's important to look
14:59at the numbers.
15:00So I drafted in somebody
15:01who, when it comes
15:03to facts and figures,
15:04has got a lot of balls.
15:05It's time for
15:06Borges'
15:07Blackpool Bingo!
15:16Hello, OJ.
15:17This is nice.
15:18I was trying to
15:19copy your moves
15:19there.
15:20Yeah, stick with me,
15:20baby.
15:21All right,
15:21so what have you
15:22got for us today?
15:22Well, Jeanette,
15:23I'm here to crunch
15:23the numbers,
15:24but a question for you.
15:25What's the first thing
15:26you think of
15:27if somebody has to
15:27say the words
15:28Blackpool?
15:28Oh, rock and stick?
15:29What, rock?
15:30Fish and chips?
15:30No, fish and chips,
15:31no.
15:32What else are you?
15:32What?
15:33Seagulls?
15:34Donkeys?
15:34Donkeys?
15:35No, it is
15:36bingo!
15:36Bingo!
15:37So, I'd like to reveal
15:38my Borgs Blackpool
15:40Bingo cards.
15:41Let's have a look.
15:42Ay!
15:43Years have worked that.
15:44Now, behind each number
15:46is a stat that
15:46relates to strictly
15:47history at the
15:48famous Tower Ballroom.
15:49So, eyes down.
15:50Have you got your
15:51Dabra at the ready?
15:52I think so.
15:53And let's play
15:54Borgs Blackpool Bingo!
15:55Yay!
15:57All the frees,
15:5833!
16:00Now, look at that!
16:00I'm enjoying these
16:01cheers.
16:02I'm going to be
16:02nice and enjoying
16:03the cheers.
16:03So, 33.
16:04We're starting with
16:05some good Blackpool
16:06stats here.
16:06The average score
16:07for a dancer Blackpool
16:09is just over 33.
16:10To be precise,
16:11it's 33.27.
16:13But, if you were
16:14to ask my age,
16:15I would round it
16:15down to a
16:16round this down
16:17to 33.
16:17Down is nice.
16:18We like down.
16:19This year,
16:19unless they all get
16:20zero, we're going
16:21to surpass the
16:214,200 points mark
16:23in scores.
16:24Currently on
16:254,159.
16:26They're not going
16:27to get zeros.
16:28No, it's not
16:28going to happen.
16:29Craig can't be
16:29that bad, right?
16:30No, no.
16:32Don't say it out loud.
16:33There's been a
16:34remarkable 123
16:35tens from
16:36125 scored
16:38dances.
16:39Three show
16:39dances weren't
16:40scored in a
16:40final.
16:41So, we're averaging
16:41nearly 110
16:43per dance.
16:44Really good.
16:45All right, so
16:45what's the next
16:46number?
16:47Knock at the door,
16:47number four.
16:49Look at that.
16:50Did you just
16:51spider-man it?
16:52I just did the
16:52dash.
16:53Spider-woman.
16:544 relates to
16:5540s at Blackpool.
16:56There have been
16:56four non-final
16:5740s at the
16:58Talborum.
16:59They are
16:59Ashley and
17:00Pasha.
17:01They did a
17:01jive.
17:02Danny and Oti
17:03did a Charleston.
17:04Ali and Brian
17:05did a Vianna's
17:05Walls.
17:06And Flo and
17:06Vito, our very
17:07own Flo and
17:07Vito, the
17:08couple's
17:09choice.
17:10Amazing.
17:10There have also
17:11been four
17:12final 40s at
17:13Blackpool.
17:14Harry and
17:14Aliona with
17:15a quick step.
17:16You've got
17:17Jason and
17:17Christina with
17:18a show dance.
17:19Harry and
17:19Aliona again
17:20with an
17:20Argentine tango.
17:21The first
17:21ever Blackpool
17:2240, Jill and
17:23Darren.
17:24Yes!
17:24With a jive.
17:25What a jive,
17:26though.
17:26What a jive.
17:26Now, four is a
17:27number that
17:27means a lot at
17:28Blackpool.
17:28And remember
17:29what Shirley
17:29says.
17:30Four plus
17:30four, eight.
17:32She's a wise
17:33woman.
17:34If I knew what
17:34that was in
17:35Latin, I'd have
17:35it tattooed on
17:36my neck.
17:36Easy.
17:36Cuatro con
17:37cuatro son
17:37ocho.
17:38Right, next
17:38number, please.
17:40Three and
17:40six.
17:4136.
17:42Look at that!
17:45That's going to
17:45haunt me.
17:4636, that's about
17:47the average for a
17:48couple's choice of
17:49Blackpool, which
17:49Alex and
17:50Johannes are doing.
17:52Now, the couple's
17:52choice has the
17:53highest average
17:54score in the Tower
17:55Ballroom on
17:56Strictly.
17:57There we go, 36.4.
17:58This list, however,
17:59it doesn't include the
18:00show dance.
18:01It felt just a bit
18:02unfair as it had only
18:03been done in the
18:04final.
18:05Now, a couple's
18:05choice has topped
18:06the leaderboard
18:06three years of
18:07Blackpool, so it's
18:08a good dance to
18:09have.
18:09Really good
18:09dance.
18:10Johannes has
18:10never done a
18:11couple's choice at
18:12the Tower
18:12Ballroom, so it's
18:13a new experience
18:14for him.
18:15But this will be
18:16his fourth Blackpool
18:17appearance in a
18:18row, which matches
18:19Oti for consecutive
18:20Blackpool appearances.
18:21He's still two
18:22behind the all-time
18:23leader for consecutive
18:24Blackpool appearance,
18:25who is...
18:25King Kev.
18:26King Kev.
18:27Kevin Clifton.
18:28The lord and
18:28master of Blackpool
18:29with six.
18:30Yes, right.
18:31Next number,
18:31please.
18:32Two dozen,
18:3324.
18:34Look at that.
18:3524, here we go.
18:3724 is the highest
18:38number of tens from
18:39a dance style at
18:40Blackpool.
18:41That is the
18:41quick step, which
18:42Amber will be doing
18:43tomorrow, to Reach.
18:45Reach.
18:45By S Club 7.
18:46She's not going to
18:47do that, is she?
18:47No, she'll be here.
18:49Yeah, yeah.
18:49Okay, good.
18:49Lovely posture,
18:50nice line.
18:51You can see the
18:52quick step is way
18:53out in front.
18:53It's a good dance to
18:54have at Blackpool with
18:56that famous sprung floor,
18:57which you said makes
18:58a difference.
18:58Yeah, it does make a
18:58difference.
18:59Quick step, jives,
19:00Charlestons, it really
19:01helps.
19:02Four of those tens were
19:03for Harry and Aliona
19:04in the final, the
19:04quick steps, only
19:05perfect score in
19:06Blackpool.
19:07Wow, all right,
19:08next number, please.
19:09Woman alive, number
19:10five.
19:12Not, yeah, I like
19:12that conversion.
19:13Woman who's managed
19:14to stay alive loads
19:15of times already, the
19:16series, that is
19:16Balvinda.
19:17Yes.
19:17This will be the
19:18fifth time for the
19:19Argentine tango has
19:20been performed at
19:21Blackpool.
19:22It has a high of 40
19:23and a low of 25.
19:24Ready for something
19:25interesting?
19:25Go on.
19:26Here we go.
19:26Here's all the
19:27dances that have at
19:28least 110 per dance
19:30ratio.
19:30Even though there
19:32are dances with more
19:32tens when you do the
19:33maths, such as here,
19:35the Argentine tango has
19:36the highest average
19:37number of tens per
19:38dance.
19:39So you might really
19:39get a ten on the
19:40Argentine tango.
19:40Yes, it could be a
19:41dance to have, although
19:42if Balvinda ends up in
19:44the dance-off again
19:45this week, she'll go
19:46into the points lead
19:47for dance-offs with
19:47Jamelia, who was on
19:50five and was
19:51eliminated on her
19:52fifth.
19:52Fingers crossed
19:53she's not, but next
19:54number, please.
19:55All right.
19:55On its own, number
19:56eight.
19:57I like yours.
19:57I'm mixing you up,
20:00mixing you up.
20:01OK, this fact relates
20:02to George, who's doing
20:02a salsa which has been
20:03danced eight times but
20:05has never received a
20:06ten.
20:06Has it not?
20:07No, no.
20:08The salsa is the most
20:09dance style at Blackpool
20:10which has never had a
20:11ten.
20:12Amazingly, the waltz has
20:14never had a Blackpool
20:14outing.
20:15Never been to the waltz?
20:16I guess it's slow.
20:17You know, you want party
20:18dances.
20:19It won't again this year,
20:20but George can't change
20:21it.
20:22What he can change,
20:23though, is the fate of
20:23the salsa tomorrow night.
20:25George will be hoping to
20:26follow it in the footsteps
20:26of his mate, Joe Sugg,
20:28who claimed three tens in
20:29Blackpool in 2018 with
20:32his quick step.
20:32I think he might be able
20:33to do it, but right,
20:34next number, please.
20:35Unlucky for some,
20:3613.
20:37I'm going to do yours.
20:38Hey!
20:39We'll just never be
20:40in steps.
20:41To demonstrate this,
20:42the stat, I'm bringing
20:43back an old favourite
20:44inspired by former
20:45Strictly contestant,
20:46Charles Venn, who danced
20:48to samba at Blackpool
20:49and got two tens.
20:50It's my Charles Venn
20:52diagram!
20:54There we go.
20:55So let's look at this
20:55then.
20:56Blackpool tens there,
20:5713.
20:58Top of the leaderboard's
20:59three, zero eliminations.
21:00What do we find in the
21:01middle?
21:01Well, what fits?
21:02It is...
21:04The Paso Doble.
21:05Great dance to do on
21:06Blackpool.
21:06It is.
21:07Karen and Carlos
21:08will be dancing this.
21:09I reckon a pretty good
21:10one to get at Blackpool.
21:12It's Carlos' third time
21:13at Blackpool.
21:13He's made it with all
21:14three of his partners
21:15a perfect record.
21:17Nice.
21:18And now, his other
21:18two times with Molly
21:19and Angela, he got 35
21:21and 38 respectively.
21:22So good scores and
21:23three tens in there
21:24as well.
21:25OK, right.
21:26Next number, please.
21:27Can we do this one together?
21:27Three and four, 34.
21:30OK, Lewis comes into
21:31Blackpool with an
21:32average of 34, the
21:33highest in the
21:34competition this year
21:35so far.
21:3635.9 is the average
21:38Charleston score at
21:39Blackpool.
21:39So it could be a good
21:40dance of him.
21:41Although Katya was
21:42eliminated last year
21:43at Blackpool with a
21:44Charleston.
21:45Yes.
21:45Yeah, bad omen.
21:46But there's good stuff
21:47though.
21:47Here we go, the good
21:48stuff.
21:48Charleston has topped the
21:49leaderboard in Blackpool
21:50the most times of any
21:52dance.
21:53Wow.
21:53I love a pie and I
21:54love a chart.
21:55Let's have a pie chart.
21:56Oh, I love it.
21:56Now, these figures
21:57don't include the
21:58finals of the time
21:59everybody danced.
22:00The samba, the
22:01Charleston also had one
22:01perfect score.
22:02Who can forget Danny
22:03and Oti.
22:04Yes, an amazing
22:05dance.
22:05Yes.
22:06I love a pie chart.
22:07I love a pie.
22:08It's making me hungry.
22:08Yeah, me too.
22:09Pies afterwards?
22:10Yeah, go on.
22:10We're in.
22:11Will Lewis and Katya
22:12add to the only
22:12perfect score this
22:13series here?
22:13I think they've got a
22:14good chance.
22:15I think so too.
22:16Next number, please.
22:17Come on, we can do
22:18this one.
22:18Number six.
22:20There we go.
22:21And do you know
22:21what it is?
22:22It's a line.
22:23It's a bingo.
22:24We've done it.
22:25We've made the line.
22:26How will our six
22:27couples get on
22:28tomorrow night?
22:28I cannot wait to
22:29find out.
22:30Well, this has been
22:31very insightful.
22:32Let's hear it for
22:33OJ Borg.
22:34Hey, everybody.
22:35I'm going to
22:35bingo home.
22:36You're going to
22:36bingo home.
22:37All right, thanks
22:38for coming in.
22:38Right, back now to
22:40Tasha in Blackpool for
22:41the final time this
22:42evening.
22:44Thanks, Jeanette.
22:45Hi, ladies.
22:46Thank you for
22:46joining me.
22:47Hello.
22:48You're here.
22:48You've made it to
22:49Blackpool.
22:50Yeah.
22:50Tell me, how do you
22:51feel right now?
22:53We were just in awe
22:54just looking at that
22:55ballroom floor.
22:57It's so much bigger
22:58than you think it's
22:59going to be.
23:00Yeah, and it's so
23:01beautifully ornate.
23:03I mean, I literally
23:03had no idea.
23:05It just doesn't
23:06translate on the
23:07television screen.
23:08You have to come and
23:09see it for yourselves.
23:10It is extraordinary.
23:12This is your first
23:13time in Blackpool ever.
23:15Yeah, it is.
23:16What's your first
23:17impression of Blackpool?
23:17Well, you know what?
23:19The nice thing is, even
23:20though it's been cold,
23:21we've had lovely weather.
23:22You know, it's been
23:23bright sunshine.
23:24So that's been lovely
23:25because as long as you
23:26are dressed up warmly,
23:28you can then handle it.
23:30But everybody's super
23:31friendly.
23:32They love Strictly.
23:33They love Strictly.
23:33They love it.
23:34The way the town comes
23:35together and supports us
23:38is beautiful.
23:38Yeah, and the lights.
23:40Yeah.
23:41The lights are fabulous.
23:42So magical, isn't it?
23:44Yes, yes.
23:45Oh my gosh, if I was a
23:46little girl, I would think
23:47I was in Fairyland, actually.
23:49Well, when I came here
23:50when I was little, the tower
23:51seemed so much bigger now
23:53that I'm an adult.
23:54I'm like, wow.
23:55I don't remember
23:55being that small.
23:57Amber, you've just
23:58rehearsed on the sprung
23:59floor.
24:00I have.
24:00How does it compare
24:01to Elstree?
24:02It's like, it's magical.
24:04The vibe is completely
24:06different.
24:07There's nerves, but it
24:08is more excitement this
24:10week.
24:11New venue, you know,
24:12bigger lights, more
24:13dancers.
24:14More dancers is epic.
24:15We've got the band on
24:16the stage.
24:18It's just a dream come
24:19true.
24:19And what about the floor?
24:21I haven't danced yet,
24:22so is it springy?
24:23It is springy, but I
24:25was too busy thinking
24:26about my next move to
24:28even notice it.
24:30I was like, what's
24:30coming next?
24:31It's funny, you can see
24:32all the floor shaking
24:33and moving.
24:34Really?
24:35Yeah, it's very
24:35springy.
24:36When you go on, I'll
24:37have a look.
24:38And you just had the
24:39costume fit in.
24:40Yes.
24:40Did it live up to the
24:41diva status?
24:42We're getting there
24:43with the diva status.
24:44I'm definitely going to
24:44give diva vibes.
24:46But there needs
24:47definitely to be a
24:48little bit more
24:48adjustment to my
24:49costume before I'm ready
24:50to go on the floor
24:51with it.
24:52Well, I'm sure
24:52they're all going to
24:53look gorgeous.
24:54Massive good luck
24:54tomorrow.
24:55Thank you so much.
24:56Back over to you,
24:57Jeanette.
24:57Bye.
25:00Let's welcome back
25:01my Friday panel.
25:04Right, we've still got
25:05three more couples to
25:06talk about, and we're
25:07going to start tonight
25:08with Louis and Katia.
25:10Now, they're doing the
25:10Charleston.
25:11Rav, we heard earlier
25:13from OJ that he's going
25:14into Blackpool as the
25:16highest scorer of the
25:17series.
25:17What has impressed you
25:19about them?
25:20Literally everything
25:21that he does is
25:23incredible.
25:24Great couple.
25:25Catch his choreography.
25:25He's going to be
25:26brilliant, especially at
25:27Blackpool.
25:28They're going to pull it
25:29out of the bag.
25:29Yeah, it's going to be
25:30really, really good.
25:31And sorry, I said
25:31highest scorer, but I
25:32meant highest average
25:32scorer in the competition.
25:34And actually, the
25:34Charleston is full of tricks.
25:36It can have lots of
25:37different elements to it.
25:38What are you most
25:39looking forward to
25:39about the routine?
25:40I'm going to call it.
25:41I think this might be
25:42their best routine,
25:44their best performance
25:45of the series.
25:45I don't know why.
25:46I just feel like going
25:47to Blackpool, the
25:48Charleston, their
25:49partnership, his skill,
25:51I think it's going to
25:51be special.
25:52Yeah, I mean, they
25:53got a perfect score
25:53for the couple's
25:54choice.
25:55Ooh, OK, watch this
25:56space.
25:57Scarlett, he's a fellow
25:58Count of Durham lad.
26:00Yeah, he's a pit yakka.
26:02He's a what?
26:03A pit yakka?
26:04A pit yakka, that's
26:05genuinely what we call.
26:06I just think the
26:08things that he's
26:08doing for our area,
26:09he's amazing.
26:10Like, everything he
26:11does, it's, yeah, he
26:13was born to do this
26:14wasn't he?
26:14He's a pit yakka.
26:15He's a pit yakka.
26:15Look, look in your
26:17accent, it's all the time.
26:19OK, George and
26:20Alexis are going to
26:21move on to this.
26:22They're doing salsa.
26:24But he is Jude's
26:25favourite in the
26:26competition.
26:26He is.
26:27Your little boy's
26:27favourite.
26:28So what have you both
26:28made of George and
26:29Alexis' performance?
26:30They're just always so
26:31fun.
26:32You know, like, we get
26:33up and we dance along to
26:34them.
26:34So the fact he's doing
26:35salsa, we're going to be
26:37there on our couch with
26:38sneer, keeps cheering
26:39them on, yeah.
26:39And the song.
26:40I know, it's such a good
26:41song.
26:41The song is iconic.
26:43And Rav, he's had ups
26:45and downs in the recent
26:46weeks.
26:46What kind of performance
26:47are you expecting from
26:48him in Blackpool?
26:49Well, I don't think last
26:50week was necessarily his
26:51strongest with the
26:52rumba.
26:53So I think this week,
26:54being the party vibes of
26:55the salsa, I think he can
26:56up it.
26:57And I think he's got a
26:58good chance of doing
26:59really well this week.
27:00I hope he does.
27:00And it was such a
27:01contrast to go from the
27:02rumba to the salsa.
27:03Surely that'll do him
27:04favours, right?
27:05Let's hope so.
27:05You're asking me like I
27:06know about dancing.
27:09He did it 16 years.
27:13I had faith.
27:14Rav, I had faith.
27:16Okay.
27:16And actually, what about
27:17you?
27:17What do you think of
27:18George Alexis?
27:18Well, as an expert in the
27:19salsa, I think he's going to
27:22be great.
27:23No, I, um, Rav, I'm so
27:26glad you didn't try and
27:27black that one.
27:28No, do you know what?
27:29There are some people,
27:30technicality aside, that
27:32you just enjoy watching.
27:33Yeah.
27:33He's one.
27:34I don't know what it is.
27:34It just gives you like a
27:35warm feeling.
27:36I think it's just really
27:36genuine and I just really
27:38love watching him dance.
27:39Yeah.
27:39And there's such a
27:40beautiful partnership as
27:41well, the two of them.
27:41Yeah, absolutely.
27:42Let's go now to Alex and
27:43Johannes.
27:43They'll do a couple's
27:44choice.
27:45Actually, there'll be extra
27:46dancers in this routine.
27:47And as someone that is
27:48used to dancing with
27:49diversity and a troupe, do
27:51you think this is going to
27:51really help them?
27:52Game changer, especially
27:54when it comes to energy
27:56and performance.
27:57The synergy you get with
27:58your partner is one thing,
28:00but I think when that's
28:01sort of like backed up and
28:02enhanced by a group of
28:04people, especially a group
28:05of people that are willing
28:06you want to do well, it
28:07really does add a lot to
28:08the performance.
28:09So I think it will help
28:10a lot.
28:10It'll spring them up.
28:11It springs them up,
28:11exactly.
28:12And Scarlett, the couple's
28:13choice is going to be a
28:14little bit more jazz,
28:15theatre inspired.
28:17Oh, yeah.
28:17Do you think that's
28:18going to suit Alex?
28:19Yeah, I love a jazz act.
28:20They're going to be fat,
28:21dude.
28:21Yeah, they're going to be
28:23fab at this, aren't they?
28:24Yes.
28:24Because I actually think
28:25she's been a bit of an
28:26underdog.
28:27Do you know what I mean?
28:28But I think she's amazing
28:29and the techniques, fab.
28:31Well, she's going great.
28:32She's looking at you because
28:32you're looking at you because
28:32you were, yeah, as a technique.
28:34Yeah, that was an expert in it.
28:35I think you're right.
28:39Yeah.
28:39I agree.
28:40Okay.
28:41Well, thanks for all of your
28:42expert opinions, everybody.
28:43It's about to get a bit choppy,
28:45though, because it's time to see
28:46whose boat you think will
28:47capsize by the sea.
28:48Who do you think will be leaving
28:51the competition this weekend?
28:53Scarlet.
28:54Hang on.
28:54Find it.
28:55I've only got little limbs.
28:57Oh, balance.
28:59Oh, God.
29:00All right, Ashley.
29:01I like to think about this.
29:04Balance, you okay?
29:05And lastly, Rav?
29:08Controversial.
29:08I think everyone else
29:09is going to up their game.
29:10This one could be in trouble.
29:11Amber and Nikita.
29:15This is the beauty of this series
29:17that we cannot call it.
29:18It literally can be anyone
29:20this weekend.
29:21Well, you guys have been great,
29:23I'll tell you that.
29:24You can come back.
29:25Give it up for our Friday panel.
29:30Brilliant.
29:31Okay, that's it for tonight.
29:32Thanks to all my guests.
29:34Flo will be back on Monday
29:35with the next couple
29:36to leave the competition.
